Embracing New Rhythms: My Current Obsessions

Every few months, I take the time to share the things I am currently obsessed with. As someone who is constantly "upgrading my routine" and "swapping things out," I find joy in discovering new habits and products that make life feel a bit more intentional. This collection of favorites is entirely unsponsored; these are simply things that have truly enhanced my daily life.

Body Skincare and Scent

I have finally committed to a body skincare routine, which feels like a sign of my "prefrontal cortex really hardening up." I now layer a Necessaire hydrating body serum with Sol de Janeiro's boom, boom oil. The combination is transformative, making my skin feel like it "glides" and leaving me smelling amazing.

I have also transitioned to a natural deodorant, specifically the Fleur Vanilla Skin deodorant. While I was initially skeptical due to past experiences with natural products, this one is "pungent" in the best way possible. I am currently in an era where I just want to "smell amazing," and this product fits that desire perfectly.

Creative Outlets: Clay and Art

After years of being uninspired, I have finally started creating art again. I have moved away from the pressure of imitating my father’s oil painting style and discovered that I love working from my "imagination" using watercolors and, more recently, air-dry clay. There is something "so wonderful" about using my hands to create functional items like a glasses tray or a custom napkin holder. It is a slow, peaceful process that has become a necessary escape.

Tech and Efficiency

I am currently obsessed with two Apple features: editing text messages and scheduling them. As a fast texter prone to typos, editing is a lifesaver. Scheduling texts has also been a "mind-blowing" discovery, allowing me to manage communication without waking people up or forgetting to respond to friends.

Travel and Daily Essentials

I have replaced my trendy toiletry bags with the classic L.L. Bean toiletry bag. It is "space efficient," features a built-in mirror, and is perfect for my daily trips to workout classes. Additionally, I’ve found a life-changing hair solution: hair sunscreen. Using an Aveda product this summer kept my bleached hair soft and protected from the harsh salt water and sun, proving that if there is a recurring issue in life, there is likely a product designed to fix it.

Self-Soothing and Makeup

My routine now includes the Therabody Depuffing Wand. While a cold spoon could technically achieve the same effect, this wand is a "soothing" tool that helps me manage anxiety. I also find myself gravitating toward Westman Atelier makeup because of its hydrating formula and beautiful packaging, which helps me "romanticize the little moments." For long-lasting wear, I swear by the Makeup Forever Extreme Waterproof Liner in the shade "wherever walnut."

Food and Kitchen Favorites

My current food obsession is a specific combo from the local farmer's market: toasted sourdough topped with spicy hummus, French carrot salad, flaky sea salt, black pepper, and sesame seeds. It is my new "avocado toast." To finish things off, I’ve been enjoying chocolate strawberries and drinking GT Synergy Trilogy kombucha.

Finally, I have found joy in small kitchen tools like the Oxo metal spatula—which I use for everything from cooking to crafting—and Our Place non-stick pans, which are finally dishwasher-safe. These small shifts in my routine have made my daily life feel more efficient, creative, and comfortable.
