Welcome to Get Sleepy, where we listen, we relax and we get sleepy.
I'm Thomas.
Throughout this meditation, you'll be bathed in the sound waves produced by various instruments such as singing bowls gongs, chimes and other resonant tones.
You'll want to make sure you're nice and cozy.
So find a position where you can safely relax and fall asleep if the mood takes you.
Once you're comfortable, consider what physical adjustments you could make that would allow you to feel just 5 more comfortable.
Maybe that's shifting pillows, blankets, or clothing until everything feels just right.
Choose where you'd like to place your hands, perhaps alongside your body, Face up or face down.
Or maybe across your belly or your heart.
Whatever feels most natural to you.
Now, close your eyes. and consciously soften the muscles around them.
Then, soften the muscles of your face, relax your jaw, Connect to the rhythm of your body.
If your mind begins to wander somewhere pleasant, that's perfectly fine.
You can let it linger there.
If your mind begins to wander somewhere else, that's okay too.
Just let it go, and then reset by turning your awareness to your breath.
Take a full breath in through your nose.
Pause for a moment.
And exhale with a sigh.
Let's do that again.
In through your nose.
Pause. and let it out.
With each exhale, notice how your body softens a little more.
Allow each breath to draw you deeper into relaxation and gently shift into a natural rhythm of breathing.
One that flows through you with ease.
Rest your awareness on the breath as you notice the sounds around you.
Allow the sounds to simply wash over you.
There's nothing you need to do or think about.
Just be present. and let the vibrations guide you.
The sound waves are meant to be both heard and felt physically.
This is what guides us into deep relaxation.
You may notice tingling sensations or waves of emotion as we move through the sound bath.
Just allow yourself to be immersed in the sound and pay attention to what you're feeling, both physically and emotionally.
Continue allowing tension to melt away from your muscles as your body relaxes more and more.
If your mind begins to wander, gently bring your focus back to the sound. and to your breath.
Notice what you are feeling right now.
Perhaps a tingling sensation or a sense of lightness in your body.
Where do you feel the vibrations of sound in your body?
Give yourself full permission to rest.
Allow the sound to wash over you like waves on the beach.
As you begin to move along the path from conscious awareness to a dreamy and blissful state of sleepiness, allow yourself to let go more and more.
Feel a deep sense of stillness permeate through you.
Allow calm and relaxation to spread into every cell of your body.
Take a moment to observe any sensations you feel.
Perhaps you notice a sense of spaciousness or ease, or maybe a feeling of being heavy against the ground.
Feel how much support you have in this moment.
Notice what relaxation feels like in your body.
Become aware of the rhythm of your breath.
Notice the quality of your thoughts right now.
Are they quieter?
More spacious?
Allow yourself to simply witness these changes without judgment.
Take a few breaths here, each one guiding you deeper and deeper into relaxation.
Allow yourself to savour this peaceful moment and take as much time as you need to settle fully.
Trust that your body naturally knows how to fall asleep in its own way and on its own time.
For now, simply enjoy this opportunity for peace and quiet.
