Exploring Seoul: A Traveler's Guide to Trendy Hotspots and Local Vibes

In this vlog, Daisy takes her viewers on a whirlwind tour of Seoul, acting as both a guide and a companion to her boyfriend, Owen. The trip is a masterclass in blending popular social media trends with authentic local experiences, emphasizing that food, aesthetics, and unique activities are the core of a memorable Seoul visit.

The Pulse of Seoul: Shopping and Trendy Eats

Daisy highlights districts like Hongdae and Yeonnam-dong as the go-to spots for travelers who want to stay on top of the latest trends. Describing Hongdae as a place that is "really quick with trends," she notes that if you see a snack on TikTok, that is exactly where you will find it. A recurring theme in her journey is the importance of "vibes and aesthetics" when choosing where to eat, as many Korean restaurants offer "the cutest interiors" perfect for social media content. Her recommendation of Hay Tea bubble tea and her favorite restaurant, Just Tendong, underscores her commitment to finding the most buzzworthy culinary spots.

The Convenience and Charm of Hyundai Seoul Mall

One of the trip's highlights was a return to the Hyundai Seoul Mall, which Daisy describes as "one of the biggest department stores in Korea." Beyond just shopping, the mall serves as a culinary destination where visitors can browse various food stalls and sample local dishes. She emphasizes the convenience of the location, noting that it is only a "10-minute walk to Hangang," making it an ideal central hub for a day of shopping, cafes, and river-side leisure.

Relaxing by the Hangang: Nature and Silent Yoga

Moving away from the city's fast pace, Daisy introduces the Yeouido Hangang Park as a sanctuary of nature. She details a "silent yoga" experience, where participants use wireless headphones to hear the instructor and calming music, effectively blocking out "city noise." This, she explains, allowed her to focus on her "breathing, posture and flow," providing a perfect contrast to the busy energy of Seoul. The park is also presented as the ultimate spot for a "K-picnic," where locals and tourists alike enjoy chicken and tteokbokki on mats, creating a quintessential local atmosphere.

Unforgettable Memories: BHC Chicken and the Seoul Moon Balloon

No trip to the Han River is complete without the local tradition of ordering fried chicken. Daisy specifically recommends BHC chicken, describing the experience of eating freshly fried chicken and cheese balls as "heavenly."

To cap off the day, the couple experiences the Seoul Moon (Seoldal) hot air balloon. Rising 130 meters into the sky during the "golden hour," Daisy suggests this is the perfect time for the best views of the city. Despite initial nerves, she concludes that the activity is a "must try" for anyone looking to fully take in the skyline of Seoul, especially for those on a date, as the soft lighting and glowing city make for an "unreal" experience.

Conclusion

Daisy’s trip serves as a reminder that Seoul is a city defined by its ability to offer both high-energy trends and peaceful, scenic moments. From the bustling streets of Hongdae to the quiet, elevated views from the Seoul Moon balloon, the city offers a diverse range of experiences that cater to those looking to immerse themselves in both modern culture and traditional leisure.
