  • Medical Advancements: Better nutrition and access to medicine.

It is also noted that body temperature fluctuates throughout the day, typically being cooler in the early morning and warmer in the late afternoon.

When the body intentionally raises its temperature above normal—a condition known as a fever—it is actually a sophisticated immune response. Dr. Joe Alcock, a professor of emergency medicine, notes that fever is an ancient survival mechanism, present in many species including birds, lizards, and even insects.

Fevers serve a vital purpose: they create a hostile environment for invaders. When a virus or bacteria infects the body, the heat makes it more difficult for these pathogens to replicate.
