📋 Summary

I don't think it's something that's becoming outdated"(我不认为这是一件正在变得过时的事情)。

人们倾向于认为:"it has to be something big or something expensive"(它必须是一件大事或者昂贵的东西)。

她强调,婚礼的形式完全取决于个人意愿:"it's up to in the individual itself they have the choice on how they want their wedding to be"(这取决于个人自己,他们有权选择自己想要什么样的婚礼)。

📖 Transcript

Hi everyone, my name is Umi and I'm from Malaysia.
So my question is, is marriage becoming outdated?
This is a really big question because a lot of people, a lot of my friends in my age, around my age, they are getting married a lot, and I don't think it's something that's becoming outdated.
I think the only thing that's probably part of marriage process itself, like cultures and traditions, they are becoming a bit outdated itself because a lot of cultures in a lot of cultures marriage is something big and people just tend to imagine that it's some it has to be something big or something expensive which is not true it's up to in the individual itself they have the choice on how they want their wedding to be so it doesn't have to follow certain you know guidelines or certain societal expectations with it to that so yeah it's marriage is not becoming outdated the only thing that's becoming outdated in marriage itself is just a culture and tradition that's not rationally you know set up by the society
