This is a phrasal verb, to keep it down.
However, this verb almost always means be quiet.
Turn the volume down.
Don't talk so loud.
So keep it down. What is it?
Well, it might be the volume.
If you're talking about somebody listening to a stereo system very loudly, you could say, keep it down.
Or it could be your voice, keep it down, keep your voice down, turn the volume down on your voice.
Don't be so loud. Now, I'm very lucky.
Where I live, after 8 p .m., there's no sound from my neighbors.
It's very quiet. The problem is the traffic outside my house.
Sometimes there's a guy, I assume it's a guy, with a sports car or a motorcycle and he drives by really fast.
