Hello everybody my name is Coach Shane And welcome to Easy English Expressions.
You and me every day.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody, welcome back to daily easy English expression.
Today's podcast is brought to you by three sponsors, thank you so much to Wojiyen, to Janjaru Chaya Joo Daniel Sagara Thanks so much, because of you guys, I'm able to pay my bills.
Seriously, and thanks to everybody for downloading my podcast. It's our podcast and I just want to say thanks.
So, today's expression is really useful.
Oh, I don't know about you, but sometimes when I go to a restaurant, well, McDonald's is a restaurant, right?
And I walk into McDonald's, and I'm thinking to myself, I'm going to order a Big Mac, a Coke and French fries.
And then I get up to the counter and I say, Uh yeah, I'll have two hamburgers, a small french fries, and a coke please.
What happened? You know, I was going to order a Big Mac.
But then I get two hamburgers.
What happened? Well, it always happens to me.
I change my mind. I like coffee, and every morning I go to the coffee store.
But, these days, I'm thinking, maybe I should switch from coffee to tea.
So, as I'm walking to the coffee shop, I'm saying to myself, yes, I'm going to order tea.
I'm going to order tea.
I'm going to order tea.
And then, when I get to the counter, the guy says, what would you like?
And I say, ah, yeah, I'll have a caramell macchiato, please.
I change my mind. I change my mind and that is today's expression.
I change C -H -A -N -G -E, my mind.
Now what's interesting is when we say it in the past tense I I changed my mind.
If we say it really fast, you don't hear the D in changed.
So perfect pronunciation would be, I changed my mind.
And I'll say it quickly with perfect pronunciation.
I changed my mind. I changed my mind.
However, most Americans, most of the time, This is what we say now.
This is past tense, but listen carefully I Changed my mind.
I changed my mind. I changed my mind You do not hear the D And there's a reason and I talk about those reasons and my DDM class, but I'll give you the answer the reasons because of the J and The mu the G the G and the M they cancel out the D.
So anyway today's expression.
I I changed my mind.
Let's check out a dialogue.
I'm ready to go to the movies.
Let's go! Meh, I changed my mind.
What? I wanna stay home.
No! We always do what you want to do.
This time we're doing what I want to do.
Get ready now! Oh, yeah.
Boyfriends, husbands, be careful.
I think in a relationship It's illegal for men to change their minds however for women in a relationship it is perfectly acceptable for the woman to change her mind Why is that?
How come women can change their minds whenever they want and men are not supposed to?
What's the deal? What do you think?
Give me your opinion, is that true or am I wrong?
You can leave me a message on Twitter at coatshane, Facebook ESL co -chane and on our google plus community and that is let's master English okay let's check out that dialogue two more times I'm ready to go to the movies let's go I changed my mind what I want to stay home no we always do what you want to do this time we're doing what I want to do Get ready now!
