Hello, everybody. My name is Coach Shane and welcome to EASY English Expressions.
You and me every day.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello, everybody. a welcome back to daily easy English expression thank you so much for taking the time to download and listen to this podcast today's expression is very very useful to tinker around it's a phrasal verb and we usually finish it like this to tinker around with something So what are you tinkering around with?
So you'll often hear it with around with together.
So the key verb is to tinker.
Now listen to the sound tinker, tinker, tinker, tinker, tinker.
You can imagine somebody using a screwdriver with some tools making sounds fixing something to tinker around with something is to fix something or to adjust something to make it better.
So a good example would be my uncle loved to tinker around with his car so my uncle would open up the engine and take apart the engine and fix this and fix that and inside the car he would change the Stereo system, or he would do things he would make adjustments he would fix things he would add Things ADD add things he would tinker around with his car he loved to tinker around with his car do you understand so many people who like to tinker around with things they become engineers it's a natural area for those people or they become a mechanic fixing cars or fixing airplanes or something like that and they
might even become a doctor.
A surgeon opens up the human body.
What are you doing doctor?
I'm just tinkering around.
Oh that's scary. Alright let's check out a dialogue.
What are you gonna do today?
I might tinker around with my blog.
Is there a problem?
Well I want it to look nicer.
Great example, not just engines and things, but you can tinker around with your blog, or you can tinker around with your website.
You can change the colors, change the font, change the size of pictures, change the organization.
This is tinkering around.
There's nothing wrong with your blog or with your website But you just you want to make some changes here and there and see if it looks better To see if people like it.
That's the idea now is tinkering around with something good or bad Well, usually it's harmless.
Sometimes it's really good, but sometimes tinkering around with something can cause problems. So be careful, don't destroy anything.
When I was a child, I wanted to tinker around with my dad's stereo system.
And my dad said stop it, you're gonna break it, never touch it.
And he was probably right.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
So, do you like to tinker around with things?
Tell me, have you ever tinkered around with something or who in your family or who among your friends likes to tinker around?
Leave me a message.
Remember, I'm on twitter, at CoteShane, Facebook, ESL CoteShane, and our Google plus community, Let's Master English.
issue. Let's check out that dialogue two more times.

Once again thank you so much everybody for listening to the podcast. The podcast is brought to you by Audible.
Audible, yeah, this is awesome, and I'm starting a book club everybody It's an audio book club, and I would love for you to join now if you're a member already That's great if you have another method.
That's fine, but right now if you go to www .audible trial comm slash LME and I'm gonna spell that that's That's www .audible .com slash l -m -e and l -m -e stands for Let's Master English.
If you go there, you can sign up and get a free audio book.
That's pretty cool.
Now, the first book that we're going to discuss or that I'm going to talk about in the book club is Tuesdays with Morrie the 10th Anniversary Edition and it's written by Mitch Album.
So that's the book that we're going to do.
It's going to be great.
I'm excited about it.
Every month we'll have a different audio book and it's going to be very good for your listening skills and your English comprehension.
Now, audiobooks are not easy.
I mean think about reading a regular English book it's tough.
Audiobooks are going to be more difficult.
So, the books that I choose they'll be between three and six hours long which means during one month you might be able to listen to it an hour a day, maybe four times five times a month.
So that'll be good practice.
Then when I give my lesson on the book, it should be easier to understand.
So that's what I'm going to do.
Now, if you sign up at audible trial .com slash l m e.
Once again, you get one book for free, you can pick any book you want.
The book club will be doing Tuesdays with morey 10th anniversary addition, but But you don't have to join the book club or follow the book club, that's fine, you can pick any book that you want.

So after the first month, if you sign up, they will charge you $14 .95 every month.
Now this is an Amazon company, everybody heard of Amazon, Audible.
Uh, so it's a legitimate company.
It's a good company.
It's a safe company, but they will charge you every month 1495, but you can choose any audible book you want and they have 150 ,000 different audible books.
They have a ton of books, so it's a good investment.
Remember, audible books, especially in English are not that easy.
Okay, but it's not.
for me, obviously, it's easy, but for you, it might be tough, so give it a try.
See if you like it and if you want, join my book club.
That's it. Ok, enough chit chat, I had to mention our sponsors, I'm so happy about this sponsor.
