Hello my friends and welcome back to the english with neil learn english podcast.
How is everyone doing today?
Today i'd like to talk about childhood dreams.
So when i was younger, when i was a kid, i actually had two dreams that wanted to accomplish.
One of the dreams surprisingly was joining the army.
Not a lot of people know that, but when I was younger really wanted to join the army, and it wasn't because I like guns or fighting or war.
It was because I like the image of the American soldiers.
So when you watch a lot of American films about soldiers yes, of course they're physically strong, but what attracted to me about being a soldier was being mentally strong, being mentally tough, being disciplined and being a very organized person.
And although I didn't fulfill that dream of becoming a soldier in the army, I still kind of feel like a soldier, like I feel like I'm a soldier for my family and I live a very disciplined life, I'm very organized and I rarely procrastinate.
So in that regard I feel like I kind of achieved that goal of being a soldier, just not in the army, but being a soldier for my family.
And the next one this, this dream came to me a little later in life, but I had this dream of honestly becoming a teacher.
And the funny thing was, when I was younger, I used to always like watching movies about teaching.
Like some of the movies that I can remember is this movie called Dangerous Minds.
I used to watch that movie all the time.
That was a teaching movie.
There was another movie.
I believe it was Stand By Me.
That was another teaching movie.
And just all these teaching movies I used to watch over and over again.
Not knowing why.
Not understanding why.
But it's so funny that I became a teacher.
And I remember the one thing that...
This thing I always wanted to do, even till today, is speak in front of people.
When I got the opportunity, I liked speaking in front of people, in front of a lot of people.
And I don't know, it's just something about speaking in front of a large crowd that makes me happy.
It gives me a lot of excitement.
And I still enjoy it today, speaking in front of a lot of people.
But I still have dreams as an adult.
I have this one dream of me speaking in front of thousands of people in a stadium setting.
That's like one of my adult dreams.
I haven't achieved that yet, but that's something that I'm working towards.
So maybe...
You guys might see me one day in a big arena speaking in front of thousands of people.
If you do, just know that I achieved one of my dreams.
So I'd like to know what were your childhood dreams?
Did you achieve any of those dreams?
Did you try any of those dreams and they didn't work out?
Whatever the case may be, let me know.
Share it in the comments.
What was your dream as a child?
All right, everyone.
That's it for today's episode.
