Hello everybody, welcome back to daily easy English expression the podcast thank you so much for listening to the podcast. Today's expression is writer's block, writer's block, W -R -I -T -E -R apostrophe S showing possession block.
I've got writer's block.
Very very common expression.
What does it mean if you have writer's block?
It means you want to write something but you don't have any ideas.
No ideas. So I'll give you an example.
In June, what is it next week, I think it's next weekend.
My goodness. Really?
A Father's Day is coming up.
The third Sunday in June of every year, the third Sunday, is Father's Day, so I went to the post office today, and I saw a Father's Day card. And on the cover of the card it says Happy Father's Day.
And on the inside of the card, there was nothing.
Which means that I have to write something.
So I thought about buying the card and then I thought about what would I write.
Dear Dad, Happy Father's Day.
Dad, Dad, um, I can't think of anything that's writer's block it's easy come on dad I love you thank you for making me into a man thank you for all the lessons in life but sometimes you sit down to write something and nothing you have writers block.
Now this is an expression, which is very useful for students or for somebody who writes books or novels, anybody who writes anything will have had experience with writer's block.
And we all, I hope, we all have the chance to write a card or a letter, perhaps to our mother or our father or our husband our wife our children, somebody.
Writer's block is not a good thing, but just relax.
It happens to me sometime, it does.
I write a lot. As you know.
Let's check out the dialogue.

No. Me, coach Shane.
I write these dialogues.

They're very very short dialogues, correct?
But sometimes they're really difficult to write because in just a couple of lines, I need to teach you an expression.
I need to give you a good idea of what the expression means and I also try to make my dialogues humorous.
I try to make them a little bit funny.
And it's not easy. Think about it.
