You see, innovation is when you come up with new ideas to solve problems or just to make things better.
Yeah, it's when you use your imagination to come up with an idea that's amazing and original, something that did not exist before.

The point is, innovation is all around us.
And it's powered by the imagination in all of us.
And today, we are going to use the power of imagination to come up with some serious innovation right here on this stage.
So the question is, are you ready to make it wow?

Today, we've got two teams who will go head to head in a series of think, tinker, and tell them all about it challenges.
And throughout these challenges, our teams are going to be inventing a product that solves a real or really ridiculous problem.
Wow. Now, it's important that these products or inventions are original, useful, and a little bit bonker balls.
Whichever team wows the judges and all of you the most wins the game and takes home the coveted Golden Reggie Trophy.

Yes! The bumper buddy is indeed real.
It was modeled after a 2015 viral video featuring Buddy, a blind dog, who wearing a gadget to keep him from bumping into walls.
Buddy's owners invented the bumper, Buddy, to help Buddy to get around without having obstacles in his way.
How cute is Buddy? He's so cute.
Oh, he's so cute. He could be running around under your chairs and you'd never know it.

It was invented back in Istanbul, Turkey.
This city is known for having a ton of stray dogs and cats who have nowhere to live.
They don't have easy access to food.
And so this group of engineers invented this smart recycling box.
It's a vending machine where you take your recyclable bottles and cans, you drop them through the top like a coin, and then dog food and water is dispensed off the bottom.
They're helping our homeless pets and saving the planet at the same time.
Wow. Such a good invention.

but it's meant for um animals such as koalas and other like owls and birds that live in trees that are prone to wildfires in like um upper part of north america uh -huh so um should i explain it uh you can actually that's enough that's enough just a little teaser and we can tell that this is like a very
thoughtful invention so far and we look forward to hearing more about it in a little while jasper i want to ask you what's it been like what's the collaboration been like the working together part have there been any challenges or have things been really easy um at the start it was a little slow but we
really started to like click and get working together and we started like finding like oh you can work on this part and like oh can you help me with this and we started really working well together because like me and um tail we don't really know each other but we started to work really well together
as a team and we got like everything down i love it look at the support you're getting let's hear it for teamwork yeah teamwork and like the hardest part is the beginning when you're working with a blank slate, an empty sheet of paper.
So sometimes it takes a minute to get going, but you're certainly off to the racers.

that's a real elevator okay and now we'll step inside one foot at a time so take one foot bring it up and put it in well done take your other foot bring it up way up and bring it in we are inside the elevator oh before we go teams we're gonna go travel through time for like five minutes when we come back
you basically have to be finished okay great so find a way to use sound All right, they're gonna be fine.

Is that diesel? Mm -hmm, yeah, it is.
So here we are in 1943.
A scientist named James Wright is inside his laboratory attempting to make rubber.
He makes a lot of mistakes.
He does not make rubber.
And instead, he makes a sticky, goopy concoction that I think all of you have played with before.
Can you guess what it is?
Jacob is helping. It's not gum It's not gum It's not slime It's It's silly putty Invented by mistake Pretty cool You want to do another?
Yeah, let's do another Okay, let's travel to Oh 1968 Smell the 1968 air Smells like my uncle Uncle Mark Okay So here in 1968 a scientist is in their laboratory trying to make a very strong glue they make some mistakes and instead they make a very weak glue and at first they think all is lost it's ruined
until they realize that they can take that weak glue and put it on the back of tiny papers and put those papers anywhere and pull them off without making a mark what is it?
they invented post -it notes invented by mistake should we do another?
Yes, Liz. Okay, let's travel to 1905.
Here we meet Frank Emerson.
He's 11 years old, okay?
He's a kid. And one day, he takes a cup of soda with a stirring stick and leaves it outside overnight in the middle of winter.
The next morning, he wakes up, and it's frozen.
He invented... Popsicle!
Invented by mistake.
Everybody say, wow!

And now I was wondering if we could just check in about that altogether.

all right so they've done it we made it through the tink the thinking round we made it through the tinkering round and it is time for the third round this round has called tell them all about it but before anybody tells anybody anything it is time to introduce our celebrity judges He is a wise -cracking,
knuckle -clacking man about town.
And she is a spicy -pepper -eating Spitfire who lives in a house made of diapers.
They are your friends and mine, Wow and the World's Own, Thomas Fingerling, and Grandma G -Force.
My goodness. Wow. I'm so glad you were available.

Are you ready? Well, hello there, Curly Q.
We're ready for the stage.
Yes. Fingerling? My big debut.
Hello, audience. Used to be a June Taylor dancer.
A lot of people don't know that.
I still am. Do either one of you have a favorite invention that you want to share?
Well, I would say my favorite invention is the ghost pepper.
That's right. I wrestled one back in 1943.
How old are you? And I showed that pepper who's boss, I'll tell you that much, I ate it.
I believe that you did.
Thomas Fingerling, favorite invention?
Oh, I'm with her. That was amazing.
I'm his favorite invention.
Oh, that's nice. All right.
That's not what I said.
You can have a seat right over there at the shiny table, the disco table.
No, there's no flies in here.
Yes, you go this way.
They're always flying around Fingerling there.

All right, now that everybody is in their spot, our judges are here and our teams are here.
It is time for us to hear a little bit more about each of these inventions, all right?
Only one of these teams can win today.

All right. Time traveling, Tinkers.
I'm going to start with you.
Can you tell us the name of your invention?
Teo, you want to do it?
Okay. The name of your invention and then a little bit about it.
Shall we do the acronym or the...
Oh, you can give us both.
There's an acronym.
Great. So, actually, you want to give us the acronym first and tell us what it stands for?
Okay. The acronym is WFAS.
Wildfire Animal Shelter.
Oh. Beautiful. Wildfire Animal Shelter.
Okay, yeah, Deacon's going to explain it.
Beautiful, Timor. So, how this contraption works is during a wildfire, animals are brought to these shelters before it spreads over these, they're brought to these shelters that are found because it is very common for koalas and other animals that live in trees to be caught by these wildfires.
So we bring them in here.
And this pump is constantly providing with not -toxicated air so they can breathe properly.
There's a little hole.
I don't know if you can see it back here.
We can provide them with food.
And we sent this robot that is fire -resistant to come feed them.
And the way how they know is its horn goes off.
Every time it runs out of food.
Incredible. So, okay, you found a way to use sound, which I love.
Here, I'll take this back.
And this is a, like, a protected shelter where there's special air being pumped in, non -toxic air.
And there's a food hole here.
And anything else that you want to add, Jasper?
So, it's like what it'll really help with, like, for the animals.
It helps them. Wildfires often damage ecosystems and homes and all that thing.
So what WFAS can help with is decrease the decline in population of wild animals in forests from wildfires.
So then it basically helps them survive and be less harmed.
That's amazing. Yes, give them a round of applause.
That's so good. I love this.
They're literally saving animal lives.

I think so. Okay, so this invention is called WFAS, the Wildfire Animal Shelter.

WFAS, it's a shelter.
Also an acronym. The non -toxic air gets pumped into a protected home and the animals are fed inside of this shelter.
We all love animals and clean air.
That's our desire so we gotta keep them safe from the fire.

Okay, and also the sound will make an alert if they run out of food.
It says beep beep, beep beep, beep beep.

It's called the, um, wait, let me look.
Well, they're going to find their paper.
The Blind. The blind cart and it helps animals that are blind get around the place and if they press on this it makes a sound which can attract humans and they can take them to a pet shelter that can help them.
That's beautiful. It has a little buckle so the animals don't go around.
Do I have your permission to pick this up and bring it over to the camera so people can see it way in the back?
I want them to see the specificity of this.
Okay. So, here's the camera so everybody in the back can see.
So, this, you said this was the buckle that buckles them in.
And then this is how they let people know they're coming with the beeping.
Move around if they just, like, nudge it forward because the wheels can move.
Okay. What's the purpose of this string?
Does that have a special?
If a human finds it, they can drag them around somewhere.
Amazing. Okay. Do you want to add anything, Nico, about the animals that it's helping?
Are there specific animals?
I guess you said all blind animals.
Any animal that's blind or small.
Small animals, right, because it's a small toy or a small contraption here.

It's like for hamsters or, like, little dogs.
