But hi guys, it's Nicole and welcome back to my channel.
Today's video is going to be a little bit different, because I have some very, very important news to share with you guys.
Unfortunately, I will not be attending SCSU this upcoming semester because Your girl is going abroad everyone.
Oh, I'm freaking out.
I'm literally freaking out.
Guys, peep the shirt.

Oh yeah, baby.
But that is the big and exciting news i've been actually wanting to share with you guys for a little bit now.
Semester sc reached out to me and asked if i wanted to be the content creator for the fall 26 voyage And of course I said abso-freaking-lutely.
If you guys don't know about Semester at Sea, they are a study abroad program where you live on a ship for a whole semester and you visit 10 different countries around the world.
Yeah, like what?
And it's official, I will be attending Semester at Sea for Fall 2026 this year.
I think I'm still in disbelief.
Like I'm still processing everything.
Just because if you told high school senior year me that I would be studying abroad, let alone going on semester at sea studying abroad, I would have freaked out.
Like I would have not believed you.
Coming into college, I didn't know much about studying abroad in general.
I think I saw like a little bit of it, but I didn't know too much.
But for the past few years, I definitely did a little more research.
I've been seeing a lot more about semester at sea.
I even have some friends that I know have been on past voyages or even the voyage right now.
And then when they reached out, I was like, oh my gosh, I think this is a sign from God.
And now your girl is going abroad.
I feel like with the stage I'm at in life right now, I am ready for a new chapter.
And I feel like this is exactly that.
Okay, but I made a list on my phone of all the things I want to talk about, because I have a lot to share.
I could definitely go on for hours and hours talking about sass, but I'm gonna try to keep to my bullet points.
As the content creator on the voyage, you guys already know you're coming along for the whole thing.
A lot of people associate semester at sea with Suite Lifeline on deck.
If you've ever seen that show,
Yeah, that's basically gonna be my next semester.
I will be living a season of Suite Life on Deck, but just get ready, you guys.
Get ready for preparing for SAS, shit vlogs, in-country vlogs, just the whole thing.
I truly can't wait to document this whole experience and share it with you guys.
Let me tell you guys the list of countries that my voyage is going to.
That's just a crazy sentence.
First, we start in the Netherlands.
Like what?
Yeah, that's where the ship is.
So that's where we're going to embark, disembark, embark.
I'm still learning all the terms.
We embark from the Netherlands.
Then we go to Portugal, Morocco, Brazil, St.
Helena, South Africa, mauritius i hope i'm saying that right sri lanka vietnam, hong kong, and then we end in thailand.
That's where we disembark.
Um, did you guys just hear the list of places i just named?
Like I truly like.
That's why I'm in disbelief.
I can't believe I'm doing this.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.
That's right, you guys.
I will be traveling to 11 different countries with semester at sea. in the span of four months from september to december of this year okay and like oh my gosh i cannot wait to experience and immerse myself in each of these cultures and all these countries as you guys heard we are going to vietnam and if you know you know i'm half filipino half vietnamese i have been to the philippines with my family back in like 2019 2020 but i haven't been to vietnam yet and it's been basically number one on my bucket list travels and so when i saw that this voyage is going there i was like i think that's another sign like it's just so perfect and best part not only are we going to vietnam we're going during my birthday week like oh the week i turn 21 i will be on the ship and also in vietnam like Oh, I could cry.
Like I could literally cry tears of joy right now.
But like all the other places too, Portugal, Morocco, Brazil, South Africa, Sri Lanka.
I feel like these are places I would never get a chance to go to.
But now that I got that chance, girl, I'm going.
And it's just insane to me that the world is going to be my campus.
Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh.
Also fun fact this is the first voyage in a little bit, i think, after covid.
That semester at sea is going to four different continents.
So this itinerary is super unique and super amazing and i just can't believe i get to be one of the people that get to go on it.
Now let me talk about how the semester works, like classes and actual school because yes, we are traveling the world, but it's also still school.
We take classes on the boat, like our schooling will be when we're on the ship.
So, for example, when we start in the Netherlands, we sail for about a week.
And so the classes will start then.
And then when we dock in ports at the countries, we kind of get to do like whatever we want.
We get free reign, which I'll talk about in a second, but also in ports we have field days.
Basically, you take something that you learned on the ship in your classes and then, when you're in the actual country, you take a day to get a hands-on experience with the locals, the culture, things you would only get when you're in that country.
So not only will i be learning on this ship, but also in the countries as well with the field days, and then also on my own when i get to explore and kind of make my own itinerary there which, speaking of in port, like I said, you can kind of do whatever you want.
You can book a hotel or an Airbnb or you can go back and forth from the boat.
And so I cannot wait to see all the amazing things in each country.
You guys already know I'm gonna eat so much food in every single place.
Oh, another thing is because I'm going during fall semester, I will be spending a bunch of holidays abroad.
And so in October, it's halloween i think we're on the boat on halloween oh jk we're gonna be in south africa so we're gonna be celebrating halloween in south africa let me know what my costume should be in november for thanksgiving we will be at sea on the boat and then the most important holiday no i'm just kidding my birthday you guys i'm turning 21 and like i mentioned my birthday week will be on the boat and also in vietnam which is just i'm so excited i can't and then our voyage does end right before christmas begins but i just wanted to add that because this will not only be my first time i mean doing all this but spending holidays like away from my family or my friends so that will be a very new experience as well but i'm excited for it and i can't wait to see how i end up celebrating them now talking about more stuff on the ship this is info that i've learned myself like watching other people on the voyages and seeing what their life is like on the boat but i do know that there's a nail salon a spa to get massages obviously a pool and a pool deck like on a regular cruise ship There's a gym and workout classes.
Like you can do yoga at like 6 a.m. on the boat, which is just crazy.
Like I cannot believe I will be in the middle of the ocean with a bunch of other students doing school, possibly getting my nails done and going to the spa.
Definitely going to the pool and sailing to a bunch of countries.
Like, oh my gosh, you guys, I cannot.
Side note because I don't know if you guys are wondering, but I'm really hoping that I don't get seasick.
I've been on a few cruises in my life and I usually don't, but I definitely haven't been on a cruise ship for four months.
So definitely gonna take precautions and make sure I'm stocked with medicine so I don't get sick.
But obviously the nice thing is that we're not on the ship for the whole four months.
We'll have like small stretches at sea and then dock in every single country.
But yeah, life on a boat.
I'm very intrigued to see how it's gonna be.
Alright, but next I wanted to mention that applications are still open for Semester at Sea Fall 26, the voyage that I will be on,

The application process has been so easy.
I applied back in my fall semester of this year, my sophomore year.
I also did a bunch of stuff at my school, at CSU, at the global education, so I can make sure that my classes, my credits, transfer over and that I'm just taking all the necessary steps.
I met with my counselor to make sure I'm on the right track to graduate still in four years and also to see what classes I'll be taking on the boat.
Class registration is coming up it's in, i think may and so currently, right now i'm working on applying for scholarships and financial aid which, if you do apply for semester at sea for the fall 26 voyage, everything consisting financial aid the deadline is april 24th, so you still have time and that can help with a lot of the expenses.

But this is gonna come in so handy when I'm traveling A pennant.
Oh, I feel like it's college decisions all over again.
Like, ah, I'm committing to semester at sea.
But this is so freaking cute.
Semester at sea.
The world is your campus.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.
We also have a blow up globe ball, so it says the logo.
Of course, and you already know i'm gonna be passing this around let's start see flag.
I think i saw this on their socials, but they'll do like a flag competition.
When you're in country, take a picture with the flag with your friends, whatever you're doing, and then they choose a winner.
Every single photo I've seen is so cool.
They're like holding this while riding a camel.
Like, please.
We also have some stickers.
So freaking cute.
There's like a luggage, a camera, passport, sunglasses, an anchor, a globe.
It's Maserati.
Of course they say over some crocs guys, just imagine me walking around the ship with my semester at sea crocs, what a sleigh.

And then also this water bottle, and this one's really cute.

One semester, 10 plus countries.
And then I save this for end because this might be my favorite item.
Last but not least, a semester receipt journal and pen.
You guys know how much I love journaling.
Oops, sorry, did I move the camera?
And so you guys know I'm not only going to be documenting with a camera, but also definitely writing in a journal to remember how I'm feeling at the time, writing down just all the things, things I'm going to experience.
And I can't wait to read this journal when I'm done with the voyage.

Now I want to talk about a few different topics that I think people will have questions about after I post this video.
So I want to see if I can answer them before.
But if i don't cover anything, definitely ask in the comments, because you guys already know i will be talking about smsrc probably for the rest of my life and so i will keep you guys updated with everything.
But first thing i want to address is life back home.
So coming back to San Diego State dance team sorority, graduating on time, all those things.
Yes, technically I am leaving SDSU for a semester, but I'm not like dropping out or anything.
After fall semester of this year, I will be returning back to States for my spring semester of junior year, which is just crazy to think about, because once I end my spring semester right now in my sophomore year, the next time I will be on this campus is next year, like 2027, and i've heard this from past voyagers like when you get back to life at home and just reality after doing an insane experience for four months, life just doesn't feel real.
So we will see how that goes when i get back in terms of my dance team, because i will be away for a full semester.
That does mean that i'm not re-auditioning for this upcoming season, Which literally breaks my heart, because I have loved being on the dance team here for the past two years.
It has definitely made my college experience the amazing thing that it is.
But when I was thinking about how I wanted my junior year to look, this is the path that I wanted to take, And so I am so grateful for my college dance team career.
But we are closing that chapter and opening this new one In terms of my sorority.
We have something where you can go on excuse if you're abroad.
So you don't have to pay the dues because you won't be here to experience any of them, but I will still be in a fee.
And then when I come back, I will return to all of the fun activities.
And then I kind of already touched on graduating on time.
But because I met with my counselors and kind of already know all the classes I need to take for both my junior and senior year, I am on track to graduate within four years, so hopefully spring 2028 your girl is done.
It's really cool because, if you don't know, my major is communication and then I have a minor in digital and social media studies and a lot of classes on semester at sea cover my credits, so everything will transfer and I'll still be learning about all the things that I want to on the boat.
Next let's talk living situation, where I'll be on the ship, where i'll be in port, if i have a roommate.
I already told you guys, in port we can decide what we want to do, like book a hotel, book an airbnb but when we're on the boat i will be living in a ship cabin like a cruise ship room and I will be having a roommate for the first time ever in my life.

Growing up, me and my brother had our own rooms.
My freshman and sophomore year of college I've had a single dorm, but on the ship, this upcoming semester I will be having a roommate.
Oh my gosh.
Okay, which brings me to my next topic.

When I tell you I am so freaking excited because not only am I going abroad, but I'm going abroad with my best friend.
And so you guys will see the roommate adventures.
It's going to be a blast and I cannot wait.
We've already made a shared doc with each country and what we want to do while we're there.
Like monuments we want to see, restaurants we want to eat at, pictures we want to take.
Oh yeah.
And we have Pinterest boards.
Of course, it's gonna be a great time.

So yes, i was chosen as a creator on the voyage, but also i just want to document everything, because why wouldn't i like?
What a cool experience to not take much photos and videos up and make travel vlogs.
Oh my Oh, my gosh.
I cannot wait.
And so I am hoping to keep my once a week schedule.
I feel like that's the most realistic.
SAS is providing me with internet so that I can post, which is gonna be so nice.
But at the same time, I also will be in the middle of the ocean sometimes.
And so if the connection is a little rocky or if I'm not able to get a video up, just bear with me.
I'm gonna try my best, of course, and I will always keep you guys updated.
But bottom line, I hope to be posting once a week while I'm there.
And then also with my other platforms like Instagram TikTok Snapchat, all the things I hope to be posting daily.
And seriously, just fill bake everything.
Like I heard, another amazing part about being on the voyage is that you get to unplug, you know, because most students won't have wifi most of the time.
So it's an opportunity to stay off your phone and be present.
And so I'm definitely going to be trying to find a balance right when I get there, to figure out the moments that I should take out my camera, but also maybe put it away sometimes and just enjoy what's exactly in front of me, you know, and so that's definitely something i'm gonna learn when i'm there.
But just stay tuned for all the content, because there's gonna be a lot coming.
Okay, and speaking of content, i don't know if you guys were wondering, but vlogmas 2026 question mark yeah, sorry guys, i don't think i'm gonna do vlogmas this year Psyche.
Of course I'm doing vlogmas this year.
I feel like vlogmas is just a part of my channel now, because I've been doing it for so long and it's literally an annual tradition.
But not only that.
This year is going to be my 10th year of vlogmas, you guys, and so i am gonna try my very, very best to complete vlogmas 2026.
I mean yeah, during december i'll be turning 21, i'll be in vietnam, i'll be in hong kong, we'll be on this ship, like so many things.
The plan is yes, i plan on doing vlogmas 26 but, once again, just bear with me if a video doesn't go up, just because i'll be in the middle of the ocean, but we're gonna figure it out.
But isn't that crazy, like my 10th year of vlogmas, and It's when I'm studying abroad.
Okay, and last thing I want to talk about.
Things I'm most excited for.
I mean, honestly, what is there not to be excited about?
I would say literally everything that I've named in this video.
Okay, but I think the thing I'm most looking forward to is just being able to experience a literal once in a lifetime opportunity.
Like.
I am aware that this is not normal, you know, like not every single college student gets to do this.
And so I feel so grateful that God has put this on my path and has blessed me with the opportunity to go on semester at sea this year.
You guys know, I'm just a firm believer in trusting the process, trusting in God's plan.
And the fact that this is a part of it, it just i could cry.
I just can't wait to see all the things that god is preparing to reveal me to, to learn more about myself as i kind of travel on my own, like without my family, for the very first time, going to places i never thought i would be at and being able to learn about new countries and new cultures.
I just want to soak it all in and not take anything for granted and, of course, i can't wait to bring you guys along and share the whole thing with you guys.
