We make love games!
Happy birthday, dear Cow -ee.
Happy birthday to you.
Blow the candles out, Cow -ee.
OK. Wait! First you've got to make a wish!
A wish? Lisa's right!
You've got to make a wish.
You can wish for anything you'd like, Cow -ee.
Hmm, anything I want.
Well, I've already had such a fun day.
You've got my friends with me.
I play games, eat cake, open presents.
Hmm... Oh! I've got it!
I know what to wish for.
I wish that I could have this much fun all the time!
Welcome to Stories For Kids by Lingokids, where we discover fascinating facts about the world around us and the fun of play -learning.
Today we're talking about endless fun and whether it's really a good thing or if we sometimes need our breaks.
Let's see how Cowie does after her birthday wish.
Shh. All right, everyone.
Thanks for coming to my birthday.
It's been a long day.
I guess it's time for you to leave. Nope.
We're staying. Yeah.
The fun keeps going.
Really? Of course, Callie.
Why would we need to stop having fun?
Because, um... We can have fun all of the time.
Oh. No, I know what's happening.
I guess my wish came true.
This is going to be amazing.
Come on, Cowie, over here.
Coming. Cowie, time for cake.
But didn't we have cake already?
Billy's right. We get to have more.
More cake, more fun.
OK. Sounds good to me.
Oof. But I'm stuffed.
I think I'll sit for a moment and ...
No time for sinning, Cowie.
We've got more games to play.
Yeah. We're going to spin around and around and then see how far we can run.
Um .. Cowie, if you need a little break from the fun, it's okay to say so.
A break from fun? No. This is what I wished for.
The fun goes on. Hee hee, ha ha.
Ha ha ha. Snip, snip, snip.
Whoo! I don't feel very well.
Cake time. Whoo -whoo!
Cake, again? I feel like I'm going to be sick.
No time for being sick, Howie.
There's fun to be had.
But let's go. Let's play tag.
Um, isn't anyone getting a bit tired?
No way. Power for tape.
Stembersaults. Oh no. Guys, shall we take a break?
You mean, K? K! K! K!
Fun, fun, fun! Stop!
Where are you going, Callie?
I just need to go over here for a second, be right back!
Are you okay, Callie?
No! I thought it'd be great to have fun all the time.
I can't take it anymore.
Why do you think that is?
I don't know. It's like I've had so much fun.
That's not fun anymore.
Do you think you could be overtired?
Overtired? What's that?
It's when our bodies have zoomed past their regular rest time, so we start to feel anxious or grumpy when what we really need is a break.
Yes! That's exactly it!
It's a good thing to recognize, Callie.
sometimes when we're having fun, we feel like we never want it to stop, but we always need time to recharge.
But I never thought I would need a break from having fun.
It's the breaks that make us appreciate the fun times.
If it's fun all the time, we can't really call it fun, can we?
But I still don't get why we need to take breaks.
When I'm having fun, I don't want it to end.
Well, that's understandable.
But if we get too overwhelmed or tired, small things start to bother us that wouldn't normally.
Yeah, like party music.
Yes, like party music.
But if we rest up, we start feeling better, then we can go back to having fun.
Hmm, I guess it's true.
But I've already made my birthday wish.
Do I have to wait until next year to change it?
I can't wait that long.
Well, there are plenty of other ways to make wishes.
Look, the stars are coming out.
Oh, good idea. OK, I'll wish upon that star right there.
I wish that I can still have fun but also have plenty of time for other things too.
Like school and nature and sleep.
Kelly! Kelly! Are you ready for...
more? Wow! I just got really tired all of a sudden.
Ahhhh! Me too! Wow!
Is that the time? It feels like today has been a big blur.
Well, you know what they say.
Time flies when you're having fun.
Happy birthday, Callie.
Hyah. Yeah, happy birthday.
Thanks, friends. And good night.
Well, today we learned a valuable lesson.
We all love fun and games, having treats, but if we don't do other things in between, we can become over tired and cranky, and that's not fun for anyone.
It's important to have balance and know that sometimes it's okay to ask for a little break, even on your birthday.
See you next time, Lingokids listeners.
