Oh, hey smarty pants.
Sorry, I must have dozed off to the Who Smarted Minecraft episode.
Unrepeat. It sure was fun visiting the overworld.
I keep re -listening to the episode, hoping it'll transport me back.
Wow, how long have I been asleep?
Um, wait a sec. Where am I?
I seem to be sitting in a weird kind of airplane.
Airship. Oh yes, it's more of a big red airship.
I don't think I'm back in Minecraft, but this definitely isn't normal.
Whoa, what's wrong with my feet?
They look like rounded sausages.
But at least I have feet, because I haven't got any arms.
Um, I'm gonna take a walk over the window to see if I can figure out where I am.
Oh boy smarty pants, it looks like I'm in outer space.
That must be why I'm wearing a green spacesuit.
Wow, it's pitch black outside and all I see are stars whizzing by and my reflection.
It looks like I'm wearing protective goggles, a backpack, and there's a green plant sprouting out the top of my head?
What? Where am I? What's happening to me smarty pants?
Do you know? Did somebody say, among us?
Among who? Us? Who's us?
This is very confusing.
Hmm, it seems I'm not alone here.
I see a pink bean shaped astronaut with a pink flower on their head.
A blue bean with a roll of toilet paper on their head.
We seem to be in some kind of waiting room.
Oh, this isn't weird at all.
I'm gonna ask a blue toilet paper head what's going on.
Um, hi, excuse me. Where are we?
We are in a game called Among Us, duh.
Oh, that's what the smarty pants meant by Among Us.
But what is Among Us?
Only the world's most downloaded game.
Well, in 2020 anyway.
We even beat out Roblox.
Among Us is a space adventure modeled after two popular party games, Mafia and Werewolf.
In 2018, a company called Innersloth introduced Among Us to the world using a different name.
Smarty Pants, do you know what Among Us was originally named?
Was it A, Space Mafia, B, Space Werewolf, or C, Space Sloth?
Even though Space Werewolf or Space Sloth sounds super cool, the correct answer is A, Space Mafia.
Okay, smarty pants, I see a small chest on the floor with a top hat on it that has lots of options to customize my outfit.
Should I go for it?
What should I wear as a hat?
A fried egg, a cherry, a pink floaty flamingo, a Viking hat.
They all sound great, but I'm gonna go with a pink floaty flamingo.
Where's my floaty flamingos at?
There seems to be a door ahead.
Oh, they just opened the doors to the ship's cafeteria.
Looks like it's time to eat.
You know how I love lunch.
Of course, it might be difficult without arms, but I'm sure I can figure it out.
There's an imposter!
Run! An imposter? Oh no!
Um, wait, what does that mean, an imposter?
I mean, I know what an imposter is.
It's someone pretending to be someone or something they're not.
But why would there be an imposter on this airplane?
Airship! Yes, airship.
And why do we need to run?
I'd better ask Blue Toilet Paperhead what's going on.
Oh, hello again! Are you following me?
No, I just happened to see you.
Can you explain what's going on around here?
The object of the game is to do your tasks and figure out which crew member is an imposter.
Oh, and don't look sus.
Sus? Uh -huh. Or else you'll get voted off the ship and ejected into outer space.
That does not sound good.
This is Chet Nickerson reporting live on an ongoing situation.
Right now the trusty narrator is in the company of several faithful crew members and one murderous imposter on a spaceship turtling through deep outer space.
Can our narrator successfully avoid the deadly crewmate?
Learn what crewmates do on the ship, use science to complete his tasks, and stay alive long enough to learn who invented Among Us and what sus means?
Chet, are you here Among Us too?
Nope, I'm just reporting T .N.
Gotcha. Well, it sounds like we're all in for a wild ride and a whiff of science and history on...
Who Smarted? Who Smarted?
Who Smart? Is it you?
Is it me? Is it science or history?
Listen up! Everyone, we make smarting lots of fun on Who Smarted!
Hmmm, looks like I can only see as far as the room I'm in.
The rest of the ship is dark.
I hear footsteps all around me, but I can't see anyone.
Oh, maybe this map will help me out.
Upper engine, lower engine, reactor, med bay, electrical, storage, navigation...
Oh, my pink crewmate just ran past me headed towards electrical.
Maybe I'll just follow them around the ship and see what they do.
It seems our trusty narrator has decided to follow his pink crewmate.
But what he doesn't know is that he's acting sus and could get voted off the ship!
Hello! What tasks are you doing?
Oh, you know. Things like fixing wiring.
Seeing as I'm, you know, fixing the wiring.
Ah, that makes sense!
Wait, it seems I also have a list of tasks I can work on too!
Smarty pants, which of these is not a task you can do on the Among Us Airship?
A, divert power to shields.
B, submit scan. C, prepare paperwork.
D, download data. If you said C, you're correct because, well, there's just not a whole lot of paperwork to do when you're fighting for your life, trying to do tasks, and not looking sus in outer space.
Well, I gotta go. Um, somewhere else?
So, like, don't follow me, okay?
Because that's sus.
It seems trusty narrator hasn't figured out if and when he's acting sus or not!
I haven't got a clue, Chet.
Well, trusty, you better figure it out soon, or else you'll be suspected of being the sneaky imposter and voted off the ship.
Oh boy, but how? Psst.
Smarty pants, did you just hear someone who isn't me say psst?
Oh, hey, it's the red cheese -headed crewmate.
I didn't hear you sneak up on me.
I've been watching you, you better be careful.
Wouldn't want to run into the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Hee hee hee hee hee hee.
Thanks, I appreciate that.
I'm just trying to figure out where to do my tasks.
Oh, and how not to look sus.
Of course, I'm not quite sure what sus is.
That could be a problem.
Smarty pants, do you know what sus stands for?
Is it A, suspended in outer space, B, suspicious activity, C, sustaining life, or D, suspecting other crew members?
Well, A, C, and D are good answers, but I heard most of you say the answer is B, suspicious activity.
Ah, that makes total sense.
You don't want to act suspiciously when there's an imposter around.
But how does one not look sus?
I can tell you. Great, that would be very helpful.
But if it's not too sus, could you tell me after this quick break?

Hey, smarty parents.
I know a lot of you love listening to Who Smarted with your kids, but I also know sometimes you need a show that's, you know, a little more for the grown -ups.
Well, if you love movies, have I got your next binge -worthy podcast?
It's called The Oscars.
What were they thinking?
And it's all about looking at the Academy Awards of the past to see what they got right, what they got wrong, the snubs, the flubs, and the oversights.
Best of all, it's hosted by the hilarious Bruce Valanche, the legendary comedy writer who wrote for the Oscars for over 25 years and has tons of behind -the -scenes stories of the world's biggest stars on Hollywood's biggest night.
Joining Bruce is screenwriter, producer, and co -creator of Who Smarted, none other than Adam Tex Davis.
Together, Bruce and Tex use humor and decades of insight to look back at the Oscars year by year, award by award to explain the Academy's biggest controversies, scandals, and mishaps while using the test of time to rewrite the movie mistakes of the past.
If you've ever watched the Academy Awards and thought, how could that movie win, or why wasn't my favorite movie nominated, you are not alone.
And if you've wondered, the Oscars, what were they thinking, then you're going to love this show.
The Oscars, What Were They Thinking, premieres November 11th on Spotify, Apple, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

Now back to Who Smarted.
So, you were saying how not to be sus?
First, don't follow the same person around, see.
Go straight to your tasks, and only call emergency meetings when needed.
That all makes sense.
Sort of. Oh, and don't try to access the vents that let you move secretly around the ship.
Never do that. Why not?
Because you'd have to be real sneaky to get away with it.
And it looks sus. So just don't.
Oh, and never. Pull out your knife like this.
Hold on. Not so fast.
I'm writing all of this down in my Who Smarted notepad.
Don't follow people around, go straight to your tasks, avoid vents.
And what was that last part?
Huh? Nothing, nothing.
Good job, trusty narrator.
Smarty Pants, I think I got it.
Did you get it? How can you tell if a crew member is acting sus?
Well, they, A, go straight to their tasks, B, run around the ship following someone, or C, call emergency meetings.
While the imposter may act like they're doing tasks, and call an emergency meeting to fool you, they'll definitely run around following someone.
That's just sus. The answer is B.
Okay, I guess I'll head to the cafeteria and do my download data task.
I'm here. I'll just hit download on the computer screen and wait for this file to transfer.
I see you're doing your task, narrator.
Oh, hey, it's you again, Red Cheese -Headed crew member.
Did you come out of that vent?
Maybe. You seem to be following me around the ship.
What are you saying?
Nothing. It's just a little sus.
Maybe I'm the imposter, and maybe you're my next victim.
Hey, is that a knife?
Yikes, smarty pants, help, chat, somebody.
I'll save you, trusty narrator.
In an incredible show of courage, the blue toilet paper crewmate sacrificed themselves to save the trusty narrator.
Gah, where's the emergency meeting button?
There it is. Crewmates, Red Cheese -Headed killed blue toilet paper head.
I saw it. You gotta believe me.
I don't know, trusty narrator.
You've been following me around, talking to people I can't see, not doing all your tasks.
I vote you off the ship.
Yeah, you can't prove anything.
I say you did it. Not so, trusty narrator.
But it wasn't me, it was you.
It's two against one.
Oh, and a stunning turn of events.
The majority of the ship has voted trusty narrator as the imposter.
Of course, he wasn't.
But that's of little consequence, as he is now floating in outer space with the words, trusty narrator was not the imposter above him.
Luckily, I'm happy to report it was all just a crazy dream.
Oh, smarty pants. Looks like I fell asleep again.
I had the weirdest dream.
I really have to stop playing video games and eating cheese before bed.
A super shout out to Superfan and Sea Camper Stevie in Whitestone, Queens, New York.
