In 2021, american multi-millionaire brian johnson began his project blueprint, then 43.
His stated aim was to restore his body and organs to the state of an 18 year old.
To do this, he started following an extreme fitness program and a strict diet, also taking a whole host of medicines and supplements, not to mention undergoing organ operations every year.
All of this costs around two million dollars per year.
His team of doctors say that results are promising, but other medical experts are more skeptical.
Meanwhile, French fashion brand Dior is also entering the quest for eternal youth, having recently established its own research program on reverse aging.
Always wanted to slow down the aging process, of course.
Just think of anti-wrinkle creams, for example, which have been popular for nearly 80 years.
Some experts recommend that people start using them as early as in their 20s.
These days though, it's no longer about simply slowing aging down or hiding its signs.
There's an appetite for complete rejuvenation, and not just in appearance.
There is a problem though.
While aesthetic medicine can fill wrinkles and make someone look younger than their age, in principle you can't prevent that person's body and organs from ageing, let alone make them younger.
How does reverse ageing work then?
The anti-ageing movement has two main approaches, cosmetic and medical.
On the one hand, Dior has the aim of creating cosmetics which are capable of restoring the skin to its youthful state.

Company spokesperson Virginie Coutereau said it has become possible to act on the cellular markers of ageing leveraging the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.
By using new methods, researchers have been able to identify key markers of ageing that they can then target with different components.
The technology should arrive soon in several Dior product lines.
In the medical sector, Altos Labs is one example of a company investing in reverse ageing.
Since 2022, they've been aiming to use a technique derived from cellular reprogramming which prevents cells from degrading by rejuvenating them.
The primary purpose of cellular reprogramming is simply to change the state of a cell.
It's already used in the pharmaceutical industry, but its usefulness in slowing down aging is not yet proven, and indeed the results of some anti-ageing tests on mice were inconclusive.
Some of the subjects developed tumours, which of course wasn't the desired result.
In summary, reverse ageing is still very new, and there's no real scientific consensus on it.
The healthiest approach for now is most likely learning to accept ageing with grace.
