Hello, and welcome to We Wow on the Weekend.
I'm your host, Dennis.
And that's Reggie. Say hi, Reggie.
This is the show where we chitchat and answer questions from our fans, and listen to Tinkercast podcasts.
Hey, Reggie, read any good books lately?
Oh yeah? What are you reading?
Brrrrrr! Brrrrrr! The sword of the wings.
Ooo! What's that about?
Brrrrrr! Magic birds who go on a quest together to destroy a super evil?
Brrr! In a volcano?
Wow! That sounds amazing!
Brrrrrrr! What am I reading?
I'm reading The Life and Times of Me.
Dennis! Brrr! Why yes, I did write it.
It's my memoir! Brrrrr!
OK, fine, it's my diary, but I do dramatic readings to myself whenever I feel like taking a trip down memory lane.
Well, why don't I read some for you real quick?
Let me get my book out.
Dear diary, today was another amazing day!
I hid out in Guy Raz's oversize tote bag for my morning snoop.
Did you know that Guy Raz is secretly afraid of jelly beans?
Hee hee! Then I went out to lunch with Reggie!
We both got cheeseburgers!
And when Reggie wasn't looking I ate half his fries and drank some of his root beer fluff and...
Reggie be quiet! You love sharing!
Okay, once I finally stopped burping from all that lunch root beer, I went home for dinner with mother and my three -hour bedtime routine.
Sweet Dreams Diary The End by Dennis Pretty great book, huh?
Oh, good idea. Let's move on and hear from our devoted listeners with a Q &A segment.
Ahem. The Q &A segment!
All right. Let's just get the old answering machine pulled up here.
Okay, here we go. Hi, you've reached Dennis from WeeWOW on the weekend.
That's me. Do you have a question?
Well, I do, too. Lots of them.
And who's going to answer all my questions?
You? Probably not. But I guess I can answer yours.
Leave me a message.
Brr. Hi, Dennis. My name is Samuel.
I live in Mountain View, California.
Hi, Samuel. Brr. I have a riddle for you.
Oh, boy, a riddle. Hit me, Samuel.
I have a mouth, but I don't eat.
I run, but don't walk.
I have a bed, but I don't sleep.
What am I? Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, let me think.
Ah, you have a mouth but you don't eat, you run but you don't walk, you have a bed but you don't sleep.
Huh! Frenchy, give me a minute!
My brain gears are spinning!
My neurons are disco dancing!
Brrrr, think, Dennis, think!
Ah ah! Oh I know! MOTHER 'S VROOMBA!
the VROOMBA, Reggie!
The little robot vacuum cleaner that Mother keeps in the living room!
Yeah! It has a mouth that sucks up all the pennies, but it doesn't eat them!
It runs into walls!
And it has a bed on it's charging station!
Whoa! Recharging is not the same as sleeping.
Hrrrrr! Okay fine, I guess recharging is kinda like sleeping.
I give up! What's the answer Samuel?
Enter a river. Oh, a river.
I was so close. Yes, I was Reggie next question.
Hi guys my name is Cooper.
Cooper ... Cooper. I'm not sure if I know a Cooper.
I'm Jordans brother.
Oh, Jordans brother Cooper.
Yeah. Hi Jordan. Hi Cooper.
And my question is do you go to the library sometimes?
Do I go to the library sometimes?
Great question! Of course I go to the library sometimes.
I love the library, and the library loves me.
Okay fine! Sometimes all the time I get shushed at the library.
But I still love the library!
There's a whole snooping section with book after book filled with the intimate details of people's lives.
Right, the biography section.
The life and times of me!
Dennis should be in there.
Oh so what if they're not published?
We could just go to the library and put my diaries on the shelves!
Right, first I have to take out all the embarrassing stuff like The time I accidentally put my rollerblades on the wrong feet and lost control and rolled into a duck pond.
Or the time I was in a duck pond and the duck started pecking at my mustache.
Or the time when a mama duck once made a nest in my hair and I had to walk around with duck eggs in my head for a full month.
Yeah. The ducklings were pretty cute though.
Next question! Hi, Dennis.
I'm 7 years old. My name is Sophia, and I live in Eastville, California.
Hi, Sophia! And my question is, how many teeth does a shark have?
Oooh, good question, Sophia.
How many teeth does a shark have?
Well, I think the only way to know for sure is to count them.
Okay. Reggie go count all the teeth in a shark's mouth, please What no, I'm not gonna do it.
I'm too scared. You do it Okay, fine, I'll count the teeth go give me a shark What do you mean?
No Reggie if I'm counting the teeth?
You have to do your part and get the shark Thank you What kind of shark do I want?
I don't know How many kinds are there?
Hundreds of kinds of sharks!
This is getting complicated.
Let's just say the average number of teeth sharks have is...
a million. Oh, you think it's less than a million?
Well how about 12? Too low.
Ok. Got it. So Sophia, I think sharks have somewhere between 12 and a million teeth.
Hope that helps! Thanks for your calls, everyone!
If you've got a question for me, call and leave me a message.
The number is 1 -888 -7 -wow -wow.
I just might answer your question on We Wow On The Weekend.
OK, that takes care of that.
Next up is a little segment I like to call Inside Tinkercast Studios.
Ah -hem. Inside Tinkercast Studios.
This is the part where we revisit an episode of one of my favorite Tinkercast shows.
And today, we're listening to, uh, oh!
What's this one? This is an episode of Once Upon a Beat!
How did this get in here?
Yeah! It's that show where DJ Fuge tells old stories in fairytales, but also he remixes them and then there's rap music and it's so cool.
I don't think we've ever listened to Once Upon a Beat before.
Should we do it? Yay!
Okay. This looks like it's from season one, episode 18, called, oh no bro!
It's abiyoyo! OK, here we go.
And play. Wee -wow, we'll be right back.

What up what up what up?
Hey everybody! I'm DJ Fuch, the numero uno, Hip Hop Fairy Godfather with the unmatchable flow.
I'm here with Baby Scratch, my amazing turntable.
Hit em up Baby Scratch, let's go, you know what it is, I'm all about remixing fairy tales, folk tales, and fables, and today I'm hitting up a South African folk tale about a high -spirited ukulele playing little boy and his practical joke -loving magician dad.
There's also a giant who comes and starts to create all kinds of havoc in their village.
The giant's name is Abiyoyo.
That's right, baby scratch. He's a big hairy dude who walks the land alone with a bad attitude.
This folktale has been handed down from generation to generation.
And we're going to remix and repeat.
That's how we do it on Once Upon a Beat.
Once Upon a Time, a very long, long time ago in a South African village, elders would tell the story of Abiyoyo.
He was a giant so big that he could block the sun in the sky and so hungry that he could eat everything as far as you can see with your own eyes!
but no one believed that such a creature could actually exist. I mean, it couldn't be real, not a giant like this.
In one village, there lived a father and his young son, the son we will call Asani, because he was a rebellious one.
The father, we'll call Naphasi, as he was a lover of good times.
He had a very big laugh and a smile that was shy.
Nafazie and Asani love their life in the village.
Every day from sun up to sundown, Asani would walk from one end to the other end of town with his prized ukulele.
He never put it down.
Ukulele time! He danced through town, strumming and walking.
Music was his language, and his ukulele did the talking.
He played it as loudly as he could, Which was probably a little louder than he should.
In school, if the teacher was about to say an important thing, Okay, so the reason why Thunder sound so loud is because Ukulele time!
If someone was sharing good news, Everyone, gather around, I have great news.
Jabari has More ukulele time!
Or news that was bad, Oh, I am so sorry to have to tell everyone this Still ukulele time.
Asani would strum his ukulele as loud as he ever had, even when there was no news at all.
If you just wanted to take a nap or make a phone call or.
Yes, the ukulele again baby Scratch. It made it very difficult to concentrate on anything anyone wanted to do.
His father has an amazing talent too.
He was a wizard with a wand, But there was only one trick he could do and he did that same trick over and over again Sometimes at the expense of his friends Hello, my friend.
Hello nefossy. I mean, I see you've got a cold glass of water to drink Yes, perfect refreshment for a hot day, I think What my glasses vanished without a trace what you still have the water yeah in my face having your hair braided Thank you for doing my hair.
It looks like it's missing?
There's nothing up there.
Not funny, Nafasci.
After each trick, his neighbors tried to get Nafasci to quit.
But Nafasci would laugh a giant laugh, saying, Hey, we're all having such a good time.
We can't stop. Not even a little bit.
Yeah. It's a sani. And the faucet In the place to be You know it Rocking my music Doing my magic And I know that they love us Uh -huh And if they don't What?
We're gonna do it anyway Ha ha ha What a great decision to be a musician Yeah everybody's wishing to meet a magician Making my music hit, that's my vision Rocking a magic trick, that's my mission Everybody's watching now and when we listen They say we're the worst But we know that they're kidding Who's better?
Whatever It's not a competition it's me though Yo!
What is it? It's me!
Man, you trippin'! Yeah, I do my thing, people smile at my style when I strum my strings There's not much difference between a smile and a grimace When you play the Grimace in about two minutes Yo, stop lyin', I'm dope without tryin' I hypnotize and I make the crowd go silent Yeah, but it's not cuz they're holdin' their breath The crowd goes silent because they all laugh Man!
I'm just kiddin', kid Yo, Scream, you're a star like your pops, it's all in the genes Yo, whatever, your card tricks get no respect People say that you're not playin' with a full deck Nah, they always clap at the end of my act Yeah, they clap cause you're finally dumb, that's a fact Take it back Hey, I'm just messin' with you man I know you'll understand I'm your number one thing Yeah, I'm your number one too I'm your only one It's just me in the crowd It's so lonely, son Well at least I got one, you got none Your crowd runs Why you scream, wait, I'm not done Hahaha I got you No, I got you Hah,
it's funny It's funny because it's not true We get all the respect We're so popular You're the best No, you're the best Ah, stop it, sir What a great decision to be a musician Everybody's wishin' to meet a magician.
Makin' my music hit, that's my vision.
Rockin' a magic trick, that's my mission.
Everybody's watchin' now, and when we listen - They say we're the worst. But we know that they're kiddin'.
Who's better? Whatever, it's not a competition.
It's me though. Eh, but it's me.
Hey, listen. Do Nafasi and Asani get the hint?
They do not. And all their friends and neighbors were hot.
Asani and Nafasi refused to understand and that the neighbors had had enough of the noise and the tricks.
I'd rather dance with Abioyo than put up with any more of this!
I don't see anywhere we can get them to change.
We've tried polite suggestions, but their obsession is strange.
Well, if we can't change them, then we need a plan.
We need to make them leave town as fast as they can.
Perhaps there's a web we could weave, A tiny deception to get them to leave. Yes!
They thought up a plan and they put it in play.
When Asani came home from school the next day, he saw something taped to his door, a note.
And his face broke into a grin when he read what they wrote.
He pocketed the paper and turned around quick and ran back to the town to his father mid -trick.
Father, father, look!
No, don't interrupt me son.
You can't disturb me now.
This is my biggest trick ever a vanishing cow Wow Your skills are getting better.
I just thought you should know we've got this letter It's a message from the mayor and the town committee.
We've been invited to a talent contest in a faraway city They heard all about your ukulele and my tricks, but the contest starts soon, so we have to leave quick.
I guess folks in the town must have been talking and bragging because they're even willing to give us a mule and a wagon.
Whoo -hoo! Richard! Oh, Reggie!
What happened? Well, why did Once Upon a Beat cut out, and now why is it you singing karaoke?
Regi! You recorded your karaoke songs over the tape?
Yes of course you sound great, but now we can't listen to the rest of the Abiyoyo story.
Hang on, let me turn this off.
Well what happens next?
Do Asani and Nafasi leave town?
Do the townspeople realize that they're actually supercool and not annoying?
And who is Abiyoyo?
I have to know Regi, I have to know!
Oh really? We can just listen to it on there?
Okay great! Listeners, you can listen to the rest of Oh No Bro, it's Abby Yo -Yo, on Once Upon a Beat.
Wherever you get your podcasts.
Reggie, I got an idea.
We should ask DJ Fuch to be on the show!
Yeah ha why wouldn't he want to be on our show?
