Hello, laboratory of bad ideas.
Oh, hi, Mindy.
It's pouring outside.
Yeah, I hadn't noticed.
It's because of all this heat.
It changes the weather, and now we have a thunderstorm.
Come on in.
You're just in time.
Oh. you mean just in time to start the show.
Oh, yeah.
Well, welcome back to WeWow.
Hey, Wowzers.
See, you're still invisible.
Very sneaky of you.
It is day five of WeWow and all week we've been working on designing and performing an experiment to melt ice cubes faster and slower.
Maybe we can even apply that idea to the bigger picture of climate change.
We learned so much along the way.
We tried out And some of those ideas might even be bad, but that could be good.
We tried a bunch of ideas and picked one as our big wonder.
Then we designed an experiment around it, gathered stuff to test it, and then we tested it.
And retested it and tweaked it and got data and went out of control.
Bendy, we weren't out of control.
Maybe not, but we did use a control to compare our data too.
And we came up with an awesome experiment that showed that if you reflect sun's rays away from ice, the ice will melt slower.
And if you reflect the rays onto an ice cube, it will melt faster, faster.
And you wowsers had some great ideas too.
You sent in some amazing pictures and videos and shared your projects and findings on our we wow hotline.
We're gonna take a quick break and when we come back we'll hear about your we wow projects.
Wow in the world.
We'll be right back.

Hi, thanks for calling Wow in the World.
After the beep, get ready to record.
Hi, my name is Harrison.
I'm 10 years old and I live in Little Falls, New Jersey.
I wonder what would happen if I gave a flower protection from the cold.
I found three of the same flowers and froze them one without protection, another in water and the last with a plastic cup over it for protection.
I discovered the one I froze with no protection or in water, died and turned brown and it lost most of its color.
The one I froze in water surprisingly still had most of its color, but a bit brown.
And finally, the one I froze with protection still has all its color, is turning a little brown.
I can improve the protection for the flower by making the cup warmer.
Bye!
Hello, my name is Liam.
I'm from Denver and my Wheelab project was a device that keeps blood off your head by cooling you down.
It experimented with two materials, white paper and aluminum foil.
What surprised me was the white The one under the white paper melted twice.
I think that the tin foil which I used I was actually warming up the foil, but I think that it would work better because it reflected 60 of the time.
Bye!
Hi, Mindy.
Hi, Guy.
I'm Eliana, and I live in Portland, Oregon.
I made a WeWOW invention, and so what I did is connected a string to my light and I connected a string to it.
Then my dad helped me go on the wall and put it all around the wall.
Then we connected it to close to my bed.
So whenever I pull it, it pulls the light and turns on the light or turns off the light.
Thank you, Wow in the World.
I love you, Mindy.
Love you, Guy.
Hi, my name is Joy, and I'm from Colorado, six years old.
I was wondering...
I just could cool off the sun with a bunch of firefighters.
So I did this experiment.
First, I got my blowtorch, or my dad, my dad used it, on a rock.
And then once it got cool, and then we tested the temperature, it was... It was 35 degrees.
And then it cooled off, which means we put snow water on it.
It steamed and it crackled.
That means...
We'll fan the gases so we can help the environment.
That's what I did.
Bye!
End of messages.
Wee!
Wow!
Wee!
Wow!
Is there a cat in here?
Grandma G-Force, what are you doing here?
I heard you had some delicious cold smoothies in the laboratory of bad ideas and I brought the band.
Thought we could have a little hoedown to celebrate the end of this hot, hot week.
Ahem.
Now, pass those smoothies over here.
Heat waves over.
Give her a cheer.
Yee-haw!
Homie, homie! and learn and we're inspired.
