It is 4 30 p.m.
We just arrived in the Sacred Valley and tonight we're staying in one of the most unique accommodations in the entire world.
We're starting by climbing 400 meters straight up a mountain, because that's the only way to get to the Sky Lodge.
Nervous?
Yeah.
Pretty.
Excited?
Yeah.
900 steps to the top.
We just got our safety briefing.
It's time to start climbing.
Can't believe we're actually doing this.
They're so tall.
I think it's going to take an hour and a half.
Come on, we gotta get up before midnight.
Hello hey, what's your name nate?
Nate, where's your carabiners?
There you are way to go, mama.
How you doing, daddy.
Have you looked backwards?
Nope.
I haven't either.
How you doing, Kara?
Doing okay.
This is so good.
This is the greatest thing I've ever done.
That was really, really, really cool.
That was crazy.
I had no clue.
She was like, okay, we're at the swinging bridge.
And then I was like, what?
Why are you going so slow?
This one's a doozy.
Move your clips right now.
You're almost done going up.
We just got to the first pod.
I'm officially uncooked.
No.
Okay.
I have to get in.
Okay.
Excellent.
Give me five.
That was crazy.
This is one of the most accomplished I've ever felt.
Yeah.
Going up that.
Because it was so scary, but so fun.
You did it, Mom and Daddy.
Yep.
Yes.
We are in the pod.
That wall is the mountain.
We're going to have dinner in here, and then we're going to the pod that we're going to sleep in.
I'm very impressed with the quality of the food up here because I know somebody had to carry all of this up here and cook it in this tiny kitchen.
It was excellent.
And now we get to go see our mom.
Bye, guys.
Bye.
Here we go.
Too cool.
We're closed in.
We just got our toilet briefing.
There are lots of steps.
We're about to open up all the curtains and hopefully see some stars tonight.
Good morning.
How'd you sleep, Mama?
I slept great.
Breakfast is up there.
Smells like coffee.
Buenos dias, como estas?
Our one night in the Sky Lodges was amazing.
Totally worth it.
We didn't talk much last night because it got really dark and we were just enjoying our time here.
But we were greeted with a huge thermos of hot water and these local tea bags.
They were so delicious.
We had three cups no heat in this thing, but we stayed surprisingly warm.
Heavy down comforters, warm tea, are awesome made for a perfect night.
We were sleeping great until i think like three o'clock in the morning i rolled over, knocked one of these babies off the shelf.
It shattered all over my bed and we had to clean that up.
But besides that fantastic night, We have a deck right here that we hung out on last night and took pictures of the stars.
It wasn't cloudy for the first time in five days.
We were able to see a few stars last night, which was awesome.
And then this morning we woke up at about 7 o'clock and climbed up to the dome for breakfast.
It is now almost 8.30 and it's almost time to leave the Sky Lodge and go down.
I'm sad, but at the same time I'm really excited because we're going down in a very fun way.
Sleeping on the side of a cliff was excellent.
That is definitely the best view from the toilet I've ever had.
So we've watched a few videos about the Sky Lodge on the internet, but nobody ever really explains the toilet situation.
It's actually a really good system.
There's one toilet for number one boys go number one and this little tube it just goes straight down to somewhere for number two.
You just go right into a trash bag and drop it down the hole.
What's the pot for?
This is for girls.
And then you dump it in the tube.
You finish off with a little squirt of bleach to keep it smelling fresh.
And then you have a sink with fresh water.
Great time.
Dad, it's over.
This adventure made possible by Mom and Daddy.
First, you need to put left-hander on top of the pulley and right-hander on top of the lift.
Okay?
This is the flying position.
All your weight in your harness.
Your harness supports 2,000 kilograms.
Okay?
Going down via the fly.
How is it?
Great!
She's gonna smash it to the rocks!
That was perfect!
How do you think Daddy's feeling right now?
I don't think he'd be scared to go off the platform.
Yeah, the first one's a Disney.
Nice!
Did you have your eyes open?
Of course!
BYE NIGHT!
We've made it about halfway down the mountain.
I think we just did the longest zip line that I've ever done in my entire life.
It was 700 meters.
Like you could barely even see the other side of it.
The GoPro died so I didn't get to film it, but it's been so cool zigzagging down the mountain.
Climbing up was super fun, but zip lining down is way better than climbing down.
It's the way to go.
Last one!
Coming in!
Unfortunately, this concludes our Sky Lodge adventure.
Now the bus is heading back to Cusco where my parents are gonna head to the airport and go home.
But we're getting dropped off in Yorubamba because we're staying here for two more days in the Sacred Valley.
This is the best way I could ever imagine ending such a great trip.
With family.
It was so, like, the Sky Lodge, probably better than Machu Picchu.
Insane.
Like, if you come to Peru, forget Machu Picchu.
Go to the Sky Lodge instead, if you had to pick between the two.
One of the coolest things we've ever done.
When you see the price tag, you're like, I don't know if it'll be worth it.
It's worth it.
Do it.
I'm sad it's over.
I do.
It was awesome though.
Love you.
See ya buddy.
See ya.
Thanks for coming.
Thanks for everything.
It's been a blast.
Thank you so much.
Have fun.
Bye y'all.
We'll miss you.
Find the king of the world!
