Pinna!
Hi, I'm Adam Gidwitz, host of Grim Grimmer Grimmest.
On every episode, we tell a grim fairy tale.
Not the cute, sweet versions of the fairy tales that your children have heard so many times.
No, we tell the real grim fairy tales.
They're funny.
They're weird.
Sometimes they're a little bit scary.
But don't worry.
We rate every episode grim, grimmer, or grimmest.
So you, your child, your family can choose the episode that's the right level of scary for you.
Tune in to Grim, Grimmer, Grimmest and our new season, available now.
Hey, Alfie.
Quentin, what are those shoes you're wearing?
Flip flops.
They make a funny sound.
And they're good when you're going someplace that your feet will get wet.
Yes, I know we were going somewhere wet.
That's why you told me to wear my bathing suit.
You got that right.
We are going someplace full of wonder and water.
Yes.
Let's just tell your mom we're leaving.
Hi, Ms.
Betts.
Hey, Quentin.
I brought you a couple of towels since it sounds like you're going to get wet today.
Thanks.
We'll need those.
Okay, let's go.
Bye, boys.
Have fun.
See you later.
I wonder where we're going.
Oh, you w-w-wonder?
Yeah, but why did you say it like that?
Because w is the sound W makes and wonder starts with W.
Wuh, wuh, wonder.
So we're going on a W adventure today?
Well done.
Cool.
Okay.
I wuh, wuh, wonder if we're going to the beach?
Nope.
Pool?
Close, but think bigger.
Bigger than a pool?
What do you mean?
Well, you'll just have to wait and see.
Eh?
Whoa, it's a water park, Quentin.
Yep, welcome to Winnie's Wet and Wild Water Park.
Wow, look at all the water slides.
There's a really tall one and a twisty one.
I told you we were going someplace full of wonder and water.
And over there, people have surfboards.
It looks like a big pool.
Want to go check it out?
Yeah, woohoo!
It's a big pool of water, but why isn't anyone in it?
That's a good question, little man.
Quentin and Alfie, I am so glad you're here.
Hi, Mr. Kent.
What's going on?
I help Winnie with her wet and wild water park during the week, but I have a problem.
What is it?
I have this big pool for the surfers, but it's missing something surfers need.
It starts with a W. I can't remember what it is.
We can help you figure it out.
You can?
Yeah.
Let's see.
What's something that surfers need that starts with the letter W?
Hmm... Oh!
W-W-Water!
Water starts with W. Hmm... The pool already has water.
Good guess though, Alfie.
What else do surfers need that starts with the letter W?
Hmm... I don't know, Quentin.
This is a tough one.
I think I remember!
The water makes a shape that the surfers ride on.
What's something that starts with the letter W that surfers ride on?
Oh, I know!
Wa-wa-waves!
Yes, that's it!
I forgot to turn on the wave machine!
You gentlemen are wonderful.
Now the pool has waves for the surfers to ride on.
I knew we could figure it out if we worked together.
Well done, Alfie.
Thanks, gentlemen.
Say, would you two like to take a ride on some waves?
Yes.
Terrific.
Here are two surfboards.
Wow.
Thanks, Mr. Kent.
Have fun.
You ready to ride, little man?
Yeah.
Then I just have one thing to say.
Surf's up.
Ha!
Hey!
Hey!
Whoo!
Those were some wonderful waves.
Yeah, they really were.
Attention, everyone, at Winnie's Wet and Wild Water Park.
Please join us at the pavilion for a musical performance by the one and only Mixie.
Did he just say Miss Mixie is going to play a song?
Yeah.
Let's put on our flip-flops and head over.
Oh, there she is.
Hi, everyone.
I'm Mixie.
And I'm going to play a song for you today using these glasses of water on this table right here.
How is she going to make music with glasses of water?
You might be asking yourself, how is she going to make music with glasses of water?
Yeah.
Well, I'll tell you.
Each of these glasses is filled with a different amount of water.
And when you rub your fingers on the top, they each make a different sound, like this.
What do you think when wizards wave their wands?
What words do they say?
Why do worms love to wiggle in the dirt?
I wonder, I wonder, I wonder What makes you wonder?
I wonder Why can't you whistle underwater?
I wonder, Get washed up by the rain, How are wonderful waterfalls made, I wonder, I wonder, I wonder.
What makes you wonder, I wonder.
Thank you everyone.
Miss Mixie, over here.
Hey, Alfie.
Hey, Quentin.
That was a wonderful wondering song, Mixie.
Thanks.
I was wondering if you'd like it.
Now I know.
Do you want to go on the water slides with us?
They're so much fun.
I'd love to, but I borrowed the water in these glasses from the wave pool and I have to return it.
See you guys later.
Well, I think it's time to hit the water slides.
Whoa, this water slide is so high.
I know.
It's a long way down.
Are you up for it?
Yeah, it'll be fun.
Okay, here's the inner tube.
You get in the front and I'll get in the back.
Okay, I'll push us off.
Ready, set, go!
Wa, wa, wa, wa, wa, woohoo!
Whoa!
Whoa!
Woohoo, that was awesome.
I want to go again.
Coming through, coming through.
Pardon me, hello quentin, it's dr vivi.
Hello vivi, quentin.
Alfie, lovely to see you, but there's no time to waste.
An animal needs my help.
What's the problem?
One of the animals in winnie's wet and wild animal show has a toothache.
What kind of animal is it?
That's the thing.
I don't remember.
All I know is that it has two big teeth, goes and starts with the letter W.
Listen, I think I hear it.
Where did that come from?
Over there by the wave pool.
Let's go.
Look, it's three animals from the animal show.
One of these animals must be my patient.
Hmm, who's this little guy?
He has a couple of big teeth.
Hmm, I don't think dog starts with the letter W, Quentin.
Yeah, and dogs definitely don't make a ah-ah sound.
Well, what about this lovely creature?
Are you my patient?
She definitely doesn't have two big teeth.
She has a beak and wings.
It's a duck, but duck starts with the letter D.
And she isn't making the right sound either.
Well, perhaps this third animal is my patient.
Look!
He has two big teeth.
Hey!
He's making that sound!
What kind of animal has two big teeth, makes that sound, and starts with the letter W?
Hey!
He's a walrus.
Of course.
It's Wally the walrus who has a toothache.
How could I forget?
Good work, Alfie.
Thank you both.
Now I'm going to help Wally get rid of his toothache.
I'll see you later.
Bye, Vivi.
Bye, Dr. Vivi.
What a wonderful adventure we had at Winnie's Wet and Wild Water Park.
Does that mean our adventure is over?
Not yet.
We still have to walk home.
Well, let's go.
I wonder, I wonder, what makes you wonder?
I wonder.
Good singing, Alfie.
You too.
So, what was your favorite part of today's adventure?
Surfing in the wave pool.
No, seeing Miss Mixie play her musical glasses.
Wait, going down that huge water slide?
No.
Wally the walrus was cool, too.
It sounds like all of it was your favorite.
Yeah, it was.
What was your favorite part?
Just hanging out with you, little man.
Hey, boys.
Hey, Ms.
Betts.
How was your day?
It was wonderful.
And here are your towels back.
Thanks.
Looks like you got really wet.
So, what's our adventure going to be tomorrow, Quentin?
You know I never tell.
I know, but give me a hint.
Okay.
You should get extra rest tonight, because tomorrow we're going on the most excellent and exciting adventure yet.
I can't wait.
Me either.
