I'm Lucy. How are you today? In my first podcast, we listen to all the sounds we can find around us.
There are so many sounds that we hear every day.
Buzzes, bumps, toots, hums pops clunks whizzes and whooshes, little sounds and big sounds. teeny tiny quiet sounds and loud noisy sounds long sounds and short ones.
Each day is filled with sound. And of course, we can make sounds ourselves too.
Did you hear that? I clicked my fingers.
I can do it very fast or very slowly. or even click a rhythm like this.
Clicking your fingers is very tricky. Maybe your grown-up can show you.
It's time for our sound adventure. Today we are meeting May and her mum and dad.
She's going to visit her grandparents. Hello May.
Visiting family like grandma and grandpa is very special because you don't see them all the time.
Let's join May on her sound adventure, visiting her family.
Yay! No, no. Hahahaha! Yes, yes, yes.
It sounds like May had a super visit to see her grandparents.
It's always nice to visit your family. Did you hear all the sounds in May's visit?
Let's listen again and see if we can name all the sounds.
May is in the car on her way to her grandparents' house.
May's mum opens the car door and lifts May from her car seat.
She is very excited. The car door closes and they walk up to the house.
Ding dong goes the doorbell. Her grandma opens the door.
They're very excited to see Mae. Grandma gives me a big hug.
The door closes and they go into the house.
Grandma opens the door to the living room.
There is a clock on the wall that ticks.
The grownups have a cup of tea. Clink, clink.
The grown-ups talk and May's mum opens a big bag of toys for May to play with.
Grandpa opens the door to the garden. It's a lovely sunny day and the birds are singing.
May runs around and kicks a ball to her grandma. and grandma kicks it back to May.
May's grandma and grandpa have a lovely big garden.
May jumps on a little trampoline. Up and down.
Up and down. What fun. Then it's time to say goodbye.
Grandma gives me a big hug. She's sad to see her go.
But what's that funny sound? Oh! Grandpa is snoring!
He's falling asleep in the garden chair.
May and her mum and dad walk to the car.
Mum lifts May into her car seat and clips her in.
The car door closes and they drive back home.
May slowly fall to sleep. May is snoring.
She's very tired from having a lovely day, visiting her grandparents.
Visiting family sounds like a lot of fun.
It was a very busy day for May. There were lots of things going on.

You press the doorbell to let people know you've arrived at their house.
How about the next sound? Do you know what it is?
It's the sound of a ball being kicked. How about we try and guess one more sound?
It's Grandpa snoring. Snore, snore. He's fast asleep.

They say hello and greet us with glee, exploring the garden so much to see.
