Hey friends, Robin here from Dear Headspace.
And you may not have heard, but a new school year is starting soon.
And personally, I'm still processing the fact that I have a 10th and an 8th grader.
But if you are also a parent and you wanna make this new school year an opportunity for your kids to learn important life skills and continue building independence, for that I'm gonna recommend to you Greenlight.
Now Greenlight is a debit card and it's a money app for families where kids learn how to save, invest and spend wisely.
And parents can keep an eye on kids new money habits.
You can also help kids get into their fall routine with a chores feature that lets you assign chores and automate allowance.
If you want even more out of Greenlight, you can upgrade to Greenlight's infinity plan.
Greenlight infinity gives the same access to financial literacy education, plus built -in safety to give you peace of mind.
With Greenlight infinity, teens can check in without needing to actually check in thanks to family location sharing.
They can also call for help when they need it with SOS alerts that connect them to family members, 911 or both.
There's even a feature that detects car crashes and will connect your young drivers to 911 dispatch and alert emergency contacts if needed.
So no matter which features make the most sense for your household, Greenlight is the easy, convenient way for parents to raise financially smart kids.
So sign up for Greenlight today and you're gonna get your first month free when you go to greenlight .com slash radio headspace.

Welcome to Radio Headspace and to Thursday.
Now I wanna begin today's episode by asking when was the last time you really listened to someone?
And when was the last time you listened to yourself, free of judgment and free of distraction?
Oftentimes when we listen to someone, there's something that we're listening for.
We may hope that they say the right thing or they share something with us that we can respond to.
By being able to practice deep listening, we can hear things that often go unnoticed.
My friend and colleague Sam says when she listens to someone in her mind, she's telling herself, in this moment, this person is the most important thing in my life.
So I had a chance to practice this exercise a few Sundays ago at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
Every week, Spirit Rock hosts a virtual BIPOC Sangha.
Sangha in Buddhism refers to a sense of community.
The teacher presented the topic of grief.
She invited folks to the Zoom stage to talk about whether anything had come up for them during the practice.
There was a lady in the group who bravely expressed that she had been feeling exhausted from working in healthcare the last two years and was finding it hard to maintain a sense of compassion.
During the meditation practice, she recognized that she was tired of grieving.
There were many people in the chat who chimed in and shared the same sentiment as her.
They too felt tired, exhausted, and filled with grief.
Our meditation teacher then posed this question to the group.
When we don't listen to our grief, who do we become?
And who do we become when we don't listen at all?
What a moment that was for me.
To be able to put my deep listening into action and be fully aware and present, I thought of all the missed opportunities I've had to become a better friend, sister, coworker, and ally.
When I don't listen to my own sadness or feelings of exhaustion, I become distracted, disconnected, and dissatisfied.
So my invitation to you, whether you're with someone or you're sitting to meditate, is to notice what you're listening for and see if you can let that go and instead make that person or the present moment the most important thing in the world.
If you'd like to practice deep listening with me, head over to the Headspace app and type deep listening in the search bar.
That's all for now.
And as always, thank you for tuning in.
