Now, in each round, if you guess correctly, congratulations, you win a point.

And the farther something away is... the longer it takes to get there, even for light.
The sun is about 93 million miles away from Earth.
Scientists also call this distance one astronomical unit.
Light generated by the sun travels to us in about the same amount of time it takes to make a hard-boiled egg.

My wow is that a mantis shrimp can see ultraviolet light, and we can.
Winner, winner, jumbo shrimp for dinner.

Contestants, if you guessed the answer B, that a mantis shrimp can see UV light, but humans can't.
Well, congratulations.
You found the winning wow.
Mantis shrimp have amazing eyesight.
Their eyes have 12 receptors that allow them to see color, whereas we humans only have three.
That means mantis shrimp can see colors and kinds of light that we can't, including ultraviolet or UV light.
Being able to see UV light gives mantis shrimp an advantage in the wild.
The ocean can be a dark place, which makes food hard to find.
But because many animals absorb UV light, the mantis shrimp can spot their prey more easily, even when it's trying to hide.
Now, if you did not get that answer correct, you must stomp, drop, and dance like a crab.
What was that?
Oh, Guy Raz, that sound can mean only one thing.
