And now for everyone's second favorite game show after forgetting to remove the plastic from your individually wrapped cheese slices It's Two What's in the Wild.
With your hosts, Mindy and Guy White.
Two What's, two What's, two, two What's, two What's, two What's, two What's, and a wild.
Hello and welcome back to Two What's in the Wild.
to once in a while.
The scientific game show that separates the wow's from the what's.
And the category or theme for today is Australia.
Mindy, why don't you refresh our contestants on how the game works.
You got it, Guy - Each of our three rounds today, Guy - and I will present you with three scientific statements about Australia.
But, and this is a big but.
Only one of those statements will be a true Wow.
The other two, just a couple of made up.
What? Now in each round, if you guess correctly, congratulations.
You win a point. But if you guess incorrectly, you must stop, drop, and do a redunculus physical challenge.
OK, everyone ready to start the game?
Great. Then let's do it.
All right, round one, which of the following statements is a true scientific wow is it A Australia has more people than the entire Indian subcontinent or is it B Australia was named by people from Austria who loved adding the letter L to stuff.
Or is it C Australia is wider than the moon when you think you have the correct answer throw another shrimp on your Barbie doll?
Hey, Rich, let's give the people some thinking music.
And time is up. Let's now reveal the winning wow.
And to do just that, it's Ryan from New York.
Ryan, tell us, what's the winning wow?
Hi Mindy and Guy Ross, my name is Ryan.
My WoW in the world is that Australia is whiter than the moon.
Isn't that bonker -balled?
Winner, winner! Moonpies for dinner!
Thank you Ryan! Contestants, if you guessed the answer, see that Australia is whiter than the moon.
Well, congratulations, you found the winning WoW!
Measured from side to side, the diameter of the moon is 3 ,476 km wide, and Australia is about 4 ,000 km wide.
So, Australia is wider.
But, Australia is not bigger than the moon, because of course the moon is round, so the moon has a lot more surface area.
The total landmass of the moon is around 4 times bigger than Australia.
I can't wait for the day we finally put a dingo on the moon.
I know, right? Now, if you did not get that answer correct, you must stop, drop, and howl at the moon like a dingo?
OK, round two. Which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it A, the giant shells on the roof of the Sydney Opera House are made of seashells harvested from the Pacific Ocean?
Or is it B? Mount Kozuzco in Australia is taller than Mount Kilimanjaro.
Or is it C? Australia has a fence that is longer than the trip from London to New York.
Hmm, lots to think about here.
When you think you have the correct answer, hop up and down like a pangaroo.
And time is up and joining us by phone to reveal the winning answer, it's Eddie from Ohio.
Eddie, what's the answer?
Hello, my name is Eddie.
Did you know that there's a science in Australia that has long asked from London to New York City?
Winner winner. Jingo dog food for dinner.
Thank you, Eddie. Wowsers, if you guessed, see that Australia has a fence that is longer than the trip from London to New York, well, congratulations, you found the winning wow.
That's right! Australia is home to the world's longest fence.
It stretches almost 3 ,500 miles across the southeastern part of the continent.
And its only job is to keep wild dogs or dingoes away from the sheep and cattle that graze in that part of the country.
Now, if you did not get that answer correct, you must stop, drop, and pretend to jump over an imaginary fence.
And now it's time to take a moment to thank our sponsors.
Today's show is brought to you in part by Kangaroo Pouches, a great place to keep your stuff and your baby.
If you've ever seen a picture of a mama kangaroo with a baby joey poking his head out of the little pouch in her tummy, you've probably experienced a cuteness overload.
It's adorable, but it's also incredibly practical.
Kangaroos almost never lose their keys, or their phone, or their remote control.
You never hear about that happening because kangaroos are marsupials, and marsupials have pouches.
Well maybe you never hear about kangaroos losing their keys and stuff because kangaroos live in the wild don't drive or talk on the phone or watch TV.
OK, well, that is certainly possible, Gyros.
They still have pouches.
And pouches are awesome and useful.
You know, you want one.
Not going to lie. I kind of do.
Well, uh, thank you, kangaroo pouches.
Uh, now let's take a quick break and hear some other important messages for grown -ups.
Two what's in a WOW!
we'll be right back.
Grownups, this message is for you!
That's it! Now back to the show!
Welcome back to Two What's and a Wow!
The scientific game show that separates the wows from the what?
And now we're on to our final round of questions, round three.
Which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it A, feral cats in Australia kill more than one million reptiles a day?
Or is it B, a baby kangaroo can jump as high as 15 feet in the air?
the air. Or is it sea?
Koalas eat snakes and other small animals.
Take a second to think this over.
And when you know the answer, hop like a kangaroo.
And time is up. And joining us biphone with the answer, it's Sofia from California.
Sophia. Sophia, tell us.
What's the winning wow?
Hi, Ninjangaras. My name is Sophia.
My Wow in the world is that Australia's feral cats kill over 1 million reptiles a day.
Winner winner! Lizards?
For dinner? That's right Sophia.
Wowzers, if you guessed A, that feral cats in Australia kill more than 1 million reptiles a day, congratulations!
You've found the winning wow!
It's true. According to researchers at Australia's Charles Darwin University on average each feral cat kills about 225 reptiles a year and in Australia these Wildcats consume more than 1 ,000 ,000 lizards a day.
Now if you did not get that answer, correct.
You must stop drop and meow feral cats Who was that?
O 'Guy Roz, that sound can mean only one thing!
You borrowed a flugelhorn from the Sydney Opera House?
Yes, but that sound means it's time for today's Winning Wauzers prize.
