Woo!
Carry out your pencils and a fresh sheet of parchment, for Tinker Class is about to begin.
Welcome back to Tinker Class, our crash course in Science.
Fun 101 for the science seekers and inventoritos of tomorrow.
It's day four of week three, so if you're just joining us for the first time, hit pause and go back and listen to the first three episodes of this week.
Don't worry.
We'll be here when you finish this week.
We're using inspiration from our wow.
In the world episode good habitat keeping.
On day one, we had you listen to this episode while jotting down any thoughts, ideas and questions that came to mind.
On day two
We had you dig through your imagination to find a creature that doesn't exist anywhere else.
And then we asked you to think about what that creature would need in its habitat to survive.
Yesterday, you designed your habitat on paper.
And today, it's time to bring that design to life.
Using your design drawing from yesterday.
We want you to turn that drawing into a 3D model of your habitat.
Use small building materials from around your home or yard to help create your model.
Yeah, things like leaves, grass, felt, cotton balls, stuff from your recycling bin.
And since this is only a model, it doesn't have to be exact.
And you might want to go back to your checklist from day two to make sure that you've remembered everything that your creature will need to survive in this habitat.
Once you've built your dream habitat model... evaluated by answering the following questions.
Is your creature safe from weather and predators?
Can your creature enter and exit easily?
Does your creature have easy access to food?
Does your creature have easy access to water?
Does your creature have enough space for itself and any others that may live with it?
And if you couldn't answer yes to all of these questions, you'll want to go back and Tinker with your design and model until you're sure that the habitat meets your creature's needs.
When you're finished, share your habitat findings with us.
You can leave us a message on our WOW hotline at 1-888-7-WOW-WOW.
Be sure to tell us all about your creature, the habitat you built for it and any other WOW-worthy things you learned along the way.
We might just play your message on tomorrow's final day of Tinker Class, Week 3.
Once again, our phone number is 1-888-7-WOW-WOW.
You can also share pictures and videos of your habitat with us at Tinkercast.com slash share.
Meet us back here tomorrow for the final step in the tinkering process.
