Welcome back to a new video, guys.
Today we're going to be learning easy english using comprehensible inputs.
Start the word count and let's go.
So this is a big water bottle and it comes with a handle because it's very heavy.
So it's easier to carry it with the handle.
And up here, that is a bug catcher.
It attracts the bugs with the light and then you can see they stick onto the black part there.
A bug catcher.
Over here, we have a freezer.
There is ice inside the freezer.
But we are not looking for ice.
We are looking to eat real food.
Although I don't know how real the food is if it's from 7-Eleven.
We'll see.
You'll be surprised.
So what drink are you looking to get?
This has just caught my eye isn't this a lychee or lychee lychee?
I think that is the right pronunciation.
People pronounce it differently.
I've heard lychee, i've heard lychee.
Me personally, i say lychee, but this is a type of fruit i think i want to try this.
I've never seen it before.
Actually, let me try the smaller one.
What's that green one on the end?
This one is banana pineapple no way banana, orange and pineapple wow.
But i'm just gonna try the lychee.
I've never had this flavor And I like lychee, so I'm gonna buy this and try it and I will let you guys know how good it is.
What drink do you want?
Do you want a soda or do you want a tea or a juice or water or milk?
I think I want something not carbonated so I'm gonna go with... Soju.
That's alcoholic.
I'm gonna get a tea.
If you see a lemon tea that'd be good.
A lemon tea?
Yep, right there.
Oh no, that's green tea, honey lemon, honey lemon of the second row, honey lemon.
This looks good.
Maybe i should get this, but i want to try this flavor.
I've never seen this flavor, so i'll just get this one.
So we got the bevs, now let's get a snack.
Oh dude, look at this.
This is seaweed.
Seaweed or fish.
Sorry, this is uh, fish strips.
Usually it's squid, like here.
These are squid.
These are squid.
Yeah yeah, But anyways, what chips do you want?
You said these are popular.
Have you had these before?
I've had the shrimp ones and they're good.
These ones?
Yes.
They kind of look like onion rings.
They look like onion rings.
This looks cool.
But the one I would like to try, these look good.
Those look delicious.
I would try those.
What about these ones?
They look like little... These Cheetos look good.
Cheesy Cheetos.
Corn, butter, roasted corn flavor.
What is this flavor?
Just cheese.
I haven't had Cheetos in a very, very long time.
So I think I'll go with this Cheeto flavor.
What flavor of chips do you want?
I don't know, maybe i'll try these chicken skins here.
Chicken skin, those are almost chips.
I have never seen chicken skin.
It's actual chicken skin.
Yeah wow well, we're getting chicken skin.
Now let's get the main course.
An actual like entree.
Right here, there's our entree.
Protein snack.
Yeah.
Okay, so these are all the entrees you can have.
So this will be our lunch.
So we have all these options.
These are lunches you can warm up.
And these you can probably eat cold, but I think they taste better warmed up.
And these are toasties, like sandwiches.
What do you want?
I think I'll have one of these lunches here.
I had them last time I was in Thailand and they were actually really good.
They do a good job at making them taste good.
They taste just like the real thing or no?
I think really close.
I had one of these noodle ones and they were delicious.
Maybe this one here?
Oh yeah, i had one of these noodles and they were quite good.
There are a lot of choices.
This looks like seafood.
It does say english there.
Well, i've always liked curries, so these ones, oh.
And if you're missing your korean food, here you go.
So we have our drink, our meal and a snack.
And the only thing we're missing is dessert.
So we're going to choose a dessert here.
There are many choices, so I'm not sure what I want, but I'll choose one and you guys will see me eat it, try it and rate it.
We have our stuff, so we're about to check out.
We got all our food.
Let's head back to our apartment and we'll try this and describe it to you with as many adjectives as we can think of.

Okay, guys, we just got back. from the convenience store.
The drinks.
We have Leon's chips.
Chicken skins.
And then we have Leon's dessert.
My dessert.
My chips.
And then...
Ooh, it's still warm.
Ooh, my... Oh, that's really warm.
My bun and then Leon's.
I already tried this, but I'm going to try it again to give you guys the reaction.
You can try your stuff too.
We got the Bev Honey Lemon Oolong Tea.
This is basically iced tea.
Okay this.
Don't know if you guys have had honeycomb before honeycomb.
This is what it looks like, but this, like i swear this tastes exactly like honeycomb.
If honeycomb was a liquid, this would be it.
Like it doesn't taste a little bit, it tastes exactly exactly like honeycomb, like really it's insane, okay.
So uh, what should we have first, the snack, dessert or the main course?
Let's start with the main course first.
Yeah, this is like a coconut curry, so there's a lot of coconut oil in it and that spilled out a bit.
Okay, so this is my bao bun.
It's a jumbo big bao barbecued pork.
So now i'm going to open the packaging.
It was moisture that spilled out.
But this is what it looks like.
It does look quite good.
I really do like bao buns, so I decided to go with this.
It was only $30 bought, which is about $1.30 Canadian.
But let's try the bao bun.
Sounds good.
Here we got the curry, so this is a Thai green curry, super popular curry in Thailand.
It's got a little egg in there and some purple rice.
I don't know if the flavor has changed from regular rice, but we'll see right now.
So we'll try some of that.
Chicken flavor is good.
I can definitely taste the coconut milk a little salty and there's a little bit of spice in there.
Let's try the rice by itself, so that just tastes like regular rice.
The color does not affect the flavor at all, but it's got a little bit of different texture and makes it a little bit more crunchy, so we'll get a nice bite here.
Okay, this is genuinely such a weird drink.
It's really throwing me off.
Like I don't remember lychee tasting like this, but honeycomb it's.
Really I don't know if I like it or not.
It's really, really weird and different.
But let's finish my pork bao bun.
I have to say this is really delicious.
This is bussing.
I don't know what this is.
I think it's like an eggplant or something, or maybe.
That's an egg.
No, I think it's eggplant.
Is it egg?
That's crazy.
Oh no, it's a vegetable, i think it's a fig.
Oh, it's got some heat to it.
I mean the sauce does.
The curry.
The bao bun is quite good.
The only thing i would say is that it is very sweet.
It is very, very sweet.
That's like my one thing about it.
I think they could tone down the sweetness and then that would make it a lot better, but right now it's just it is too sweet for me.
In my opinion, This is also too sweet.
It's just sweet, sweet, sweet.
I need to cleanse my palate with Cheetos.
Shouldn't you try the dessert first?
That'll be sweet.
Too much sweetness?
Yeah, dude.
It's really like, I'm going to have a sugar crash later today.
Also, a review on this iced tea.
Honestly, I find carbonated drinks to be really refreshing, but this is honestly on par with being as refreshing.
You want to try it.
So i thought there would be a lot more flavor on these, but these don't really have that much flavor.
They're kind of like plain.
Yeah, nothing to write home about, but i guess it's a good snack.
Honestly, this is a really good meal.
It's surprising that they can like mass produce this and then send it out to thousands of 7-elevens around Thailand.
It's actually crazy.
This is like I would eat this again for sure.
Thai green curry.
It's got a good flavor and I think even for Thai people, eating at 7-eleven is popular for lunch or something.
If you're busy or working lots, it's really convenient and it's still really good.
And the price is crazy.
This is not that expensive at all, bro.
This is pure sugar.
Ice team.
He said it was refreshing.
That is not refreshing, it's just really sweet.
But uh, we stopped at that lady and bought some chicken, so let me take a bite of this chicken.
Hopefully it's cooked all the way.
Oh, it smells good, though.
If you wanna get my 3000 most common English words PDF to help you understand up to 95 of spoken English with real clear definitions and examples organized by CEFR level and topic, then check out the link in my description to get it.
Yeah, it looks good.
I think you got the thigh right.
They cut it open and then they split it out.
So you got to be careful with chicken because you might get salmonella poisoning.
Couldn't that kill you?
Oh yeah, it can kill you.
It's bacteria.
But it's crazy because in some places like japan you can actually eat raw chicken there.
So what they do is they cook the outside really quickly and then the inside's still raw, so apparently that kills any salmonella that could be on the outside and the inside's still like completely clean.
But if you're willing to risk that, you can go to japan and you can try it, Or you can try it at home, but I don't know if you'll survive that.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Do not try that at home.
Please do not.
Do not try that.
Yeah, no, you can't mess around with food.
Food is very dangerous.
So you have to be careful.
You have to respect food and you have to make sure everything is cooked and all bacteria and stuff is dead before you eat it.
That's why we boil water or cook food.
That kills the bacteria.
Chicken skin.
This is crazy.
I just saw it at the corner of my eye and i want to try it.
It looks good.
Actually it looks like chicharrones, but for chicken you mean oh, that smells spicy, that smells strong.
I think we got the spicy one.
I just picked whatever.
There's a fire right here, so i think might have a little kick to it.
That's what it looks like nice crunch, but it's not spicy, it's just sweet.
I think there's a lot of sugar in the food we've had today, because you try one it's like oh, these are like the.
Those remind me of this chinese food i had in shanghai, those kebab things.
Oh yeah, maybe that's the flavor.
Like uh, it's not spicy though, it's just sweet and savory.
To me it just tastes really fatty and greasy and oily.
Yeah, it's greasy.
Because it's skin, right?
This is good, but it's not a lot.
We only had a couple pieces in.
It's almost empty?
Yeah, almost empty.
Okay, so we finished our main course and some of our snack.
Now let's move on to the dessert.
I got young coconut lava mochi.
It looks really good.
And I got these little puff pastries.
They're like little, what do you call these?
Strudels, like tiny little strudels.
Yeah, you got grape.
Yeah, grape jelly flavor.
I don't know how good grape would be.
I feel like some sort of berry would have been nicer.
Yeah, I thought this was blueberry actually when I picked it up.
I have my mochi, very sticky.
Let's try this.
Whoa.
Look at how stretchy this mochi is.
It looks like cheese, man.
It literally looks like mozzarella cheese.
It's supposed to be coconut flavor, but I don't really taste any coconut.
I just taste sweet, man.
Everything is just sweet.
This looks kind of good, actually.
Look how crispy that looks.
That smells strong.
Oh.
Let me try one.
That's sweet, but got a nice crunch.
That one looks burnt.
These smell super strong.
As soon as he took it out, it's just that strong grape flavor.
Let's try it.
Yeah, it's like a strudel.
Yeah.
Really similar.
I'd say it's strudel.
The top, it looks like they put sugar on when they were baking it.
So it kind of has that crunch.
It's got a lot of layers too.
That mochi see what you think of that one.
It's got some sesame seeds on the top.
They're all the same smells like sesame.
Let's see how it tastes.
Oh wow, i think there's a filling inside this one.
Yeah, the other one too.
Oh, it's like um, supposed to be coconut.
I think it tastes a little bit like coconut, but young coconut.
Oh okay, young coconut lava mochi.
Wow, super sweet, but it's good.
It's got a little bit of coconut flavor.
That filling is nice, though i'm not a big fan of mochi, but this is a cool treat.
Yeah, i was about to say i thought you hated mochi.
I don't like mochi that much, but this is like maybe 20 mochi.
The rest is just like a filling.
Maybe I do love mochi.
Have you ever had mochi?
No.
Every mochi is only like 10 to 20% mochi.
Mochi is always wrapped around a fruit or something.
No.
Traditional mochi doesn't have anything.
It's just straight beaten rice.
I have never seen just someone selling straight mochi.
The straight mochi is the original.
Everything else is like.
I'm not Japanese so I don't know, but I went to Japan and all the mochi I ever saw was always wrapped.
The mochi was always wrapped.
I don't know if that's the correct way to describe that mochi, but there was always fruit and then that mochi wrapped the fruit.
Yeah, I've seen that with strawberries.
But I'm pretty sure that's a newer way to eat it.
That's not, like, traditional.
I don't know.
Like, I've never seen just a ball of mochi that you just eat.
I've never seen that.
The one mochi I had.
It was in Nara or Kyoto, and they beat it with a big mallet and then they give you a piece of that, just the mochi, and they wrap it in or they throw it in like a brown powder, that's like I think it's some sort of fermented powder that they make, and then you eat it like that, just straight mochi.
That's like traditionally, where you're talking about like water, mochi or something, something like that.
You put this uh, brown syrupy sauce on it and it's a million times better.
Yeah, this is right.
Yeah, this is the one i had in the green one.
Okay no, i didn't have the green one, i had the white, but i can't remember they put the sauce on it, but i do remember the powder.
Well, you have to put the powder or else it'll be too sticky.
Yeah, exactly because that one, that one there, is sticky.
Yeah, because they didn't put a powder on here.
So what's the final verdict?
We finished pretty much all the food.
There's some mochi, some chips, some chicken left, but for the most part, we finished the food.
This is just pure sugar.
I don't think i would get this again, i would just get like water or something, but it was all right.
I think, out of all the things here, my favorite hmm, favorite thing we got from 7-eleven.
What was your favorite?
Definitely this curry here.
Like it actually tasted really good.
Like this tasted like a meal that you could maybe eat at a restaurant.
Obviously, the portion is a little small because you're all buying it from a convenience store, but the flavor was there.
The egg obviously you can't have a runny egg on a microwave meal like that.
But the curry was good, the rice was good and it all worked well together.
So i did enjoy that.
Yeah Yeah, for me.
I'm not a big fan of Cheetos.
I don't know why I even got those.
The mochi was just really sweet.
And I guess the best would be the bao bun.
If they put a little less sugar in it, I think it would be so much better.
But the way it was, it was good.
At least the bun part of it, the white part, it wasn't that sweet.
So that made it easier to eat.
So it kind of balanced it out.
But overall, it wasn't too bad.
I think if you're in a rush or something...
Or if you have a short break or a short lunch, this is a good option.
Cause there's so much selection there.
Like you see when we were there, like there's a whole wall of just different foods you can grab for lunch and microwave meals.
So honestly, if you go there often, you probably know what's best.
So true, and i've been to japan and japan's convenience stores are even better.
The selection yeah, the selection.
7-eleven, the same chain.
It's amazing you could have like warm foods, like freshly baked pastries no yeah, and they're like freshly baked things.
You can have fresh baked stuff.
Yeah, i've been there.
It's been like two years since i've last been to japan, so my memory might be a little bit wrong, but yeah, i'm pretty sure they had like fresh warm pastries and stuff.
Yeah, But I definitely think Thailand is maybe top five, maybe top three countries 7-Elevens.
They have a lot of options.
The toasties are an elite 7-Eleven food.
If you've never had one, when you come to Thailand, you need to go and buy a toasty.
Those are...
Really, really good.
Those are really good.

There is ice inside the freezer.
Great pronunciation.
People pronounce it differently.
I've heard lychee.
I've heard lychee.
I'm gonna get a tea.
If you see a lemon... Here, these are squid.
These are squid, yeah.
Yeah, but any main course, an actual like entree food.
Right here there are a lot of choices.
This looks like seafood.
Let's head back to our apartment and we'll try this.
And i don't know if you guys have had honeycomb before honeycomb this is what it looks like, but ari got the curry, so this is a very sweet.
It was very, very sweet.
That's like Yeah, nothing to write home about.
Japan, you can actually eat raw chicken there.
So what they do is they tough pastries.
They're like, what do you call these?
It's just that strong grape flavor.
Let's try it.
It's supposed to be coconut.
I think it tastes a little bit like coconut, but... It was good.
At least the bun part of it, the freshly baked pastries, no?
Yeah.
And they're freshly baked.
