구체적인 사물이나 대상의 이름을 정확히 알지 못하거나 굳이 명시할 필요가 없을 때 'thing', 'stuff', 'bit'과 같은 단어를 사용합니다.

thing: "She's got something in her eye." (눈에 뭐가 들어갔을 때, 정확히 무엇인지 모를 때 사용)
stuff: "Tidy all that stuff on the floor." (방에 널브러진 여러 물건들을 통칭할 때 매우 유용함)
bit: 수량이나 상태가 정확히 정의되지 않은 경우에 사용합니다.

2. 수량사 (Quantifiers)

정확한 숫자를 모르거나 언급하고 싶지 않을 때 범위를 설정하는 표현입니다.

소량: 'one or two', 'a few', 'a couple' 등을 사용하여 대략적인 적은 양을 표현합니다.
다량: 'a lot of', 'plenty of', 'loads of'를 통해 많은 양을 모호하게 전달합니다.

3. 모호한 숫자와 근사치 (Vague Numbers & -ish)

근사치 표현: 'around 50', 'more or less', 'there or thereabouts', '50 or so' 등은 특정 수치 근처임을 나타냅니다.

you know: 상대방이 이해하고 있을 것이라는 전제하에 대화를 이어가는 일반적인 표현입니다.

5. 마무리 표현 (Completers)

대화의 세부 사항을 일일이 나열하고 싶지 않을 때 문장을 끝맺는 도구들입니다.

and so on, and stuff, something like that: "It was lots of fun, lots of sand, few beers, lots of trips and so on."와 같이 대화 내용을 요약하며 마무리할 때 쓰입니다.

Well, in this particular lesson, we're going to talk about vague language.

Okay. what means unclear, unclear language.

Or a couple. Or if you want to go the other end of the scale, you can say, or a lot of. okay or plenty of or loads of so at one end of the scale it could be one or two three or four a few and the other end of the scale it could be are plenty of or lots of or loads of yeah okay so These are the quantifiers that we will use.

There's a bit of flour left in the bag but i don't think there'll be enough to make the pizzas so i think if you want pizzas this weekend somebody's gonna have to take a trip to the supermarket there's a bit of flour so you're not quantifying how much, you're not saying there are a hundred grams or there's 250 gram whatever it might be you're not saying that so just there's a bit of flour but usually it means a bit but not enough to do what you want to do so quantifiers Then we can have vague numbers, okay?

It doesn't mean you're using words because you don't actually know the word that you want. vague words and expressions that we can use in certain key specific situations when we don't want to give somebody some additional information so just to go back over it again just to make sure you understand it and if you don't understand it yeah please come back to me and i can explain it but hopefully you've understood my explanation.
