Hello, everybody.
This is Teacher Levy.
I love the morning sun, but now it's getting in the way of me recording.
Thank you for being here.
It's good to be back and to film again.
I have been enjoying and seeing success with the live streams.
In regards to the book challenge, my students have been telling me that it is useful.
A lot of them have read the book.
Some of them have the audiobook.
A couple found the book online.
They have the pdf, the pdf version So, but nonetheless nonetheless, it's beneficial, I think, to have these live streams.
We're going to have the last episode for the Magic Treehouse this week.
So hopefully I'll put this video together today.
And then on Thursday, we'll have the live stream.
I'll speak in slow English today as well, so that those of you who are working on your listening comprehension, you can improve and also work on your pronunciations.
Okay, so there are some fast English videos as well on my channel and I'll do more of those later in the future, but today we'll do, we'll do, we will.
Today we'll do slow English, the things I'm doing today.
We have a few things I need to do and I'll tell you what those things are.
Okay, so I just parked and the first thing I need to do is pick up my watch to go get.
We can say to pick up my watch.
We can say to pick up my food, to pick up my package.
Okay, so pick up, because I dropped my watch.
Okay, I dropped it, and it is a little broken.
One of the hands fell off, so I needed to get that fixed, to get.
I dropped it.
So oh hello hello, dropped to drop okay, so you're holding it, and then there it goes.
I dropped it and it broke not fully, it's not severe, but I wanted to get it fixed and we also need to go to the parking meter okay, so we'll do that.
So this is the watch, and it broke.
It got fixed.
Now this is a new strap that i might get.
So let's see, i want the black color and then this will get replaced to a gold color similar to this.
So this is an antique or an older watch, but I dropped it, so now I want to get it fixed.
So there's a lot of different straps here, but this is the right size.
It's hopefully going to look good.
So I have the church behind me.
Oh, maybe you can't see it now.
Church behind me.
I went to the parking meter.
I don't know if I can find another one.
I got a ticket.
So for two hours, I'm good to park there.
I also went to a cafe after the watch.
Uh, after i got my watch.
So here it is, it's fixed, i can use it now.
Great price too.
To have the skill set to fix a watch is very undervalued, perhaps because now we have all the talk about AI and about these new apps, so some of these trades like watchmaking or fixing and making clothes tailoring, some of these are not so popular these days.
So I wanted, or wanted, to talk a little notice little about age pronunciation, age this segment, segment or segment, is part.
We can say part, we can understand part, but we can also practice saying part.
This part or this segment will be just me sitting here.
Notice sitting instead of sitting here and speaking.
So those of you who enjoy listening to the videos or to the videos i won't be moving around you can listen to this segment, this part of the video.
So also, sometimes people say video, video.
We can say video.
We have a higher e sound like weeds or weekend and we have a lower e sound like video video.
So i wanted to talk about age.
Some of you might notice might, we can say might know my age, especially students who have been with me, have studied english with me for some time.
I might have revealed to show, we can say to reveal.
Again it's a higher e like weekend, to reveal.
I might have revealed or disclosed is a synonym, disclosed my age.
I will have my birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, in a few weeks.
So coming up, if something is going to happen soon, we can say coming up.
It will be coming up soon.
Sometimes when you watch tv, or in the past when we used to watch tv, they would say coming up next we have this new show in the us.
We like to say shows.
I have found that a lot of students say series, where I would say shows.
For example, friends or Seinfeld or The Office or Stranger Things.
I would say those are shows.
My students sometimes call them series series, i think more for movie series, like the harry potter series, for example.
I know some people are fans of harry potter.
Now I have a wide demographic.
What, notice what, we can say what is demographic?
What does that mean?
Demographic is a certain, notice certain, a certain part of, a population or a group of people.
So if we ask, what is your demographic on your YouTube channel?
We can be referring to many things.
So for example, age. could be one.
Also, the country where your viewers are from.
We could say my main demographic are people from 30 to 45, or we can say 30 to 45-year-olds.
30 to 45 year olds.
Also with age, something to pay attention to.
We have two ways of saying our age.
For example, if I was 45 and somebody asked me, how old are you?
I could say I'm 45, or I could say I'm 45 years old.
Notice 40, 45, instead of 45, 45, 55.
So I'm 45 or I'm 45 years old.
We don't, notice don't, don't, we can say don't want to say I'm 45 years.
So either I'm 45 or I'm 45 years old.
I like to repeat Notice, repeat vocabulary which we have learned throughout the past few months on my channel.
I have talked about the word ponder.
Ponder is to think about or to consider something.
So I have some questions for you to ponder on in regards to age.
So my demographic is wide.
Also, it changes from time to time.
I know there's a lot of people from Brazil, from Turkey And from Asia.
I think those are the big three places where people are watching my videos.
Of course, there's many from Europe.
There's a considerable, considerable amount of people from the US, or there are a considerable amount of people from the US.
I think they probably move there for their studies, to go to school, or to work.
And they're looking to learn English, which is great.
Of course, one of the best places to learn, one of them is YouTube.
But also the best place perhaps is to go live in the country where you have native speakers, like the US or Canada or Australia or the UK for English.
So these are Ireland.
These are places that I think you can improve the fastest for improving your English, for learning English.
So I know a lot of people who go there.
They say that they don't have friends, they don't have people to speak with.
So that is the reason that they're on YouTube or they're taking lessons online is because they live there, but they still don't speak enough English.
My question to you is what have you learned over the years and what is a piece of advice or some wisdom that you can share with our community?
Notice community, community.
So you can share your age if you feel comfortable. and you can say, I'm 50 years old.
Over the years, I have learned that you need to be patient when you're trying to attain your goals or reach your goals.
For example, and you can elaborate Elaborate means to explain.
So this is something that you can do for writing practice, and I'll be going through and reading them.
You can answer.
So some piece of advice, some wisdom that you have learned over the years that you would like to share with the rest of us.
This way you can practice your writing and we can get to know everybody a little better.
Now those people who guess my age correctly can come join the live stream.
Uh, not this, this one, perhaps the next one.
So we'll have a live stream this week.
We're going to finish the book, the magic tree house book and summarize the book, the whole book, talk about the last few chapters and then summarize the book.
So that live stream will be this week and then we'll start the next book.
And uh, i would like to have people come on the stream and join and we can discuss different topics, but I want to continue the reading exercises or the book challenge that we started.
So the next book will be The Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
We'll read that together.
We'll read it together, but mostly we'll read it at home and then discuss some things during the live stream.
And again, hopefully have some of you come and join the stream and speak in English, answer some questions from the chat, and it will be a good time.
So that is what's happening next.
Thank you guys for watching this video.
I hope that it was helpful.
And also I haven't mentioned this so much recently, but shadowing is a very useful exercise of listening to me speak and then repeating right after me.
So that's helpful for listening, it's helpful for pronunciation and that is something that you can do specifically for the slow English videos.
Also for the fast English, but perhaps this is a better opportunity to do this exercise with the slow English videos.
So thank you for watching.
If you would like to speak with me, you can find the link in the description to have an English lesson.
If you support these videos, feel free to like and subscribe And I'll see you next time.
For the members.
There will be an announcement coming soon and also a video, but I will ask for your feedback about something.
So they'll be soon.
Have a great day and talk to you next time.
See you on the live stream, those who can join.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
