Hello, hello English learners and shadowing enthusiasts.
I'm Claire, a native speaker from the US, and shadowing practice is really useful for sounding more natural in English.
And it's all about imitating native speakers' rhythm, intonation, pronunciation.
So as a native speaker, I offer shadowing practices.
Check out my shadowing playlist, which I am constantly growing and will continue to add videos to.
First, you will repeat after me as we read through this story together, and then you will shadow.
So you will say it with me at the same time.
Let's get into it.
Last Saturday Last Saturday I went to my favorite cafe for lunch.
I went to my favorite cafe for lunch.
I walked up to the counter.
I walked up to the counter.
And said.
And said.
Hi.
I'd like an iced latte.
Hi.
I'd like an ice latte and a ham and cheese sandwich for eating in, please.
And a ham and cheese sandwich for eating in, please.
Okay, now let's shadow this whole section together.
So say it with me at the same time.
Ready?

For here or to go?

I was a little confused.
I was a little confused Because I'd said for eating in, Because I'd said for eating in, But I repeated for here.
But I repeated for here.
Okay, let's shadow.
So say it with me.
The barista nodded and asked for here or to go.

After a while, after a while, the barista called out, order for Eden.

I was starting to get hungry.
I was starting to get hungry and wondered where my food was. and wondered where my food was.
The barista waved at me.
The barista waved at me and pointed to the order for Eden.
And pointed to the order for Eden.
I realized she thought I said Eden.
I realize she thought I said eat in when I really said eating in.
When I really said eating in.

I guess that's why... Proper enunciation in English is important.
And we'll shadow this final sentence together.
I guess that's why proper enunciation in English is important.
And again say it with me.
I guess that's why proper enunciation in English is important.
So I hope you liked this shadowing practice video.
It was a little bit swifter than the others and hopefully I gave you enough time to repeat after me.
But of course you can always pause the video to give yourself a little bit more time if you need it.
You can always come back to this video and repeat this shadowing practice to continue to work on your English intonation, rhythm and pronunciation.
And I will continue to build my shadowing playlist here on my YouTube channel.
So be sure to subscribe and stay tuned for even more videos like this.
Let me know what you thought in the comments and share it with a friend who might find it useful as well.
I'll see you in the next one, guys.
Bye for now.
