I am done from exam So I don't know if you noticed from that statement, but I did finish my midterms exam and uh, It was very depressing, honestly.
I've never felt so stressed for an exam in my life, but here we are.
But we're not here to talk about my exams, because exams are not forever.
Desk setups are.
Why are you not on?
Turn on.
So in this video I wanted to share with you guys what my desk setup looks like, because I've changed it for my midterms and I'm pretty proud of it.
Like I'm pretty not gonna lie.
This is a very study-esque for studying.
Now the thing is I don't play games anymore.
I don't really play a lot of games anymore.
I don't play a lot of games anymore and I wanted my desk to be more cozy feeling because I feel like the desk that I had before was pretty much overkill.
So I just use that for work, basically because the thing about studying is that you don't necessarily have to have the bells and whistles of a desk like, as long as it works.
It works.
And considering my study style because i do make flashcards and i do have to revise and i do have to understand i do think that this is the perfect setup for that.
And Not only that.
There are other things that I want to show you guys on my desk that I use to cancel out the noise, to enter the focus, to enter the zone, basically.
And it's all here.
All of the Oh fuck, stop turning off.
Everything on my desk is purely functional.
There is no design.
I mean there is some decor, decorum there, but pretty much this desk is mainly purely functional and it's just for school, especially because I just have my MacBook running it.
There is no computer, there is no games here.
I cannot play a single game on this thing.
And one other thing of why I like my desk so much yeah, i can do that, and this thing has multiple options.
So, as you can see, this is the control panel.
It goes up and it even shows a little number, or i can set a preset to any of these numbers as well.
So, in case i want to go back to my sitting position, you can just press number one.
It automatically goes to a preset height that i, you know, set.
Yeah, so if I'm studying and if I want to stand up, I can.
Yeah, it's a standing desk, basically.
All right.
Anyway, let's get started with the desk tour.
I'm bringing the shaver back.
This is not part of the desk tour, by the way.
I just need to shave.
All right, switch to camera B. I'm just kidding.
I just popped the camera in a different angle.
Anyway, before we talk about the desk itself, which I will go through later, I want to talk about what's pretty much powering this whole thing.
So as you can see, I have two screens in this whole setup.
It's just my laptop and a monitor.
So the computer powering this entire thing is my MacBook.
This is pretty much what I bring to school as well as work or whatever.
This is what's powering everything and it's just connected by a single HDMI cable.
Actually, let me show you guys what what studying looks like to me.
So let me just pull up my study set up real quick.
All right.
So this is what my study typical setup looks like.
So we have over here the study material, any sort of reference or any sort of study source.
I put them on the right side and on the left side have gemini.
Yes, i know this is mainly just for me to sort of digest information if i am very confused, fused.
I just put that Gemini because we have AI and they can explain it in a very well manner.
So why not use that, right?
I just don't use AI for everything.
I just use it mainly to process information.
And once I'm done, I go here to my final screen and I input the questions. on here on Anki.
So we literally have picture, supporting information, answer, context and questions.
So pretty much everything is pretty systematic, but mainly I'm focusing on understanding the information first before actually creating flashcards.
Now, as much as I hate AI, like the next person, at the same time, I know that it's a useful tool and it can be a very useful tool if you use it as a tool.
So typically I do with my Gemini is I tell it to explain concepts in a very easy way.
I also tell it to ask me questions as well.
So here is a prompt that you can put on your AI or whatever, and it can pretty much help you.
Aid in studying.
So as long as you tell it specifically what to do, it can be a very good aid for studying.
But remember, don't replace your studying with AI, okay?
It's more of a helpful guide.
And finally on my laptop, we have here is my Anki card.
So basically, I would copy paste whatever fact that I need to memorize or anything that I need to memorize on the computer here.
So I have Anki open on this website pretty much my whole study setup.
I don't really take notes.
I don't really write down notes because that's not really my style, since for my study techniques I prefer like, really just heading straight into testing, because I feel like that's just a more efficient way of studying rather than just you know writing and whatever.
Now, I'm not saying that handwritten notes are bad or any sort of diagram or handwritten notes are just not effective, because a lot of my classmates also write down their notes and they also perform pretty well in class.
So if ever I do need to write down my notes, I do have this little drawer over here, and this is where I put my iPad.
And I also have an Apple pencil, just to you know write down any sort of notes that I need to write down.
So while I am studying, and if I do need to sort of visualize or if I want to make a mind map of my specific subject,
So, for example, if I'm studying this radiography techniques, and if I need to pretty much map out what I need to understand, or at least map out a visual diagram of like what I'm actually studying, so yeah, in terms of the main study desk area, this is pretty much what it is at its core.
So we have the main monitor, the main computer and my ipad.
That's it.
I don't have anything else.
This is pretty much the only thing that i have.
Of course, we have a lovely plant over there, but we do have one thing over here that i really like, which are these noise cancelling headphones.
So this is a pair of Sony's headphones that I actually got for my dad.
It was not that comfortable to wear because he wears his glasses, so I just ended up getting it back.
And I was like, you know, I'm just going to keep it for myself.
So that's the story behind these headphones.
But yeah, these are the headphones that I use whenever I go study.
I turn on noise cancellation or I always play those like frequencies where you focus more.
I find that those pretty much block out things that distract me.
So every time I need to focus and it's kind of noisy, or if I'm just really not in the zone, plop this on.
I just put noise cancelling, I just put some frequency that I can find on YouTube and I'm just there.
I'm just, I'm just gone.
I'm just in the zone already.
So yeah, I just plop it basically on this side of the desk and every time I need it I can just get it from there.
I do also have a drawer here as well, so if I do need to write any sort of assignments that's handwritten, I do have a drawer as well that has my pens and my papers.
I usually have my papers here, but I don't have anymore, so it's just there.
But I do have divisions on this little desk here.
So we have highlighters and we also have pens as well, just under my desk pretty cool.
On the right here we have a couple books that i am keeping and reading right now.
So i have 12 rules for life, i have stoicism and i have psych 101, and on the left side we have is my little lamp.
I really, really love this lamp.
It's just such a cute little like modernish retro i i don't know what you call it, but basically it's a nice lamp and I have some plants over here as well and everything that is on this desk is pretty much sitting on this standing desk from vernal.
So i really like their wooden, like mahogany i've been so into like the warm, like sort of aesthetic and i just really like the wood they chose here.
So it's like this, not this varnished look it has.
It's an actual high quality, like i don't know.
I just i just i like rubbing it.
I was reading the manual and apparently this table has a rating of 160 kilograms.
So you know, if you guys ever wanted to sit on this desk for some reason, You could do that.
And I did get a bunch of accessories for this table, so you can get this table by itself or you could add a bunch of add-ons that you want to add to your table.
As you can see that there isn't that much wiring, because underneath I also opted for a wire organizer, so this came with it.
You can include it with your purchase.
Basically, you can organize your wires underneath so that when you look at this table there really isn't that much wires going on, like maybe there's a couple there, but that's from the hdmi and that's from the you know laptop charger.
But other than that pretty clean floor, i have to say Very good.
Now, when I do study or when I do want to study for a long time, I do like moving around a lot or I do like standing up.
You know, if you don't really have a standing desk, you can just do this by just walking around your room, or you can just walk around your desk.
But the good thing about this desk is I don't have to lean forward anymore.
I can just put this on standing mode and i can just put it to whatever level i want and i can just start god, why do you keep turning off?
And i could just literally start studying while standing.
So i would literally just yap around and whenever i'm studying so, for example, i'm studying, or in chronology, which is the study of x-ray and dental fields I'll be like okay, occlusal films.
What are occlusal films for?
They are used to view the upper and lower jaw, maxilla, and mandible.
Something like that.
Like I just feel like, like just yapping and just going around is pretty, pretty useful as a study technique.
So what's cool is, if you go under the table, you could also see that there is an accessory that you can get, which is this little like wire organizer.
So I don't know if you can see it, it says Vernal.
Over there it's kind of dark, but anyway, look at how clean the floor is just because I have this little thingy over there organizing all the wires, and even this is the accessory that you can buy with.
Even the drawer is an accessory that you can add to the table, as well as this little desk riser here, and it just looks so nice like the way they crafted all of this, like the wood here and everything and assembling it was so nice.
It just feels so smooth, like how silent is that?
And even this little riser right here it has such a nice high quality feel to it, and the desk itself i don't know.
It's just so nice to rub it like.
Oh my gosh.
They were even kind enough to send me a free.
I think this is a cup holder coaster, whatever.
Yeah.
It says Vernal.
Pretty cute.

And the thing is, I thought that it will be very, very unstable because it is a desk or a standing desk.
So, you know, standing desks are typically wobbly, but turns out this is actually pretty stable.
Like, if you check their website, they actually provide a reference or a lab result and it just shows, like transparently, their test results of the stability test of this table.
Like that is the test they've been doing on this table.
So you know this is sturdy.
I mean it is sturdy like I sat on this like 10 times while filming this.
So if you guys are interested, then head down to the link in the description below.
