Let's make the sound of a cat together now.
Let's say... Nio! Nio!
Nio! Nio! Good! Cats also make another sound.
When they are very happy and comfortable.
Do you know what that is?
Paa! Yes, cats, per when they're happy and maybe a little sleepy some people have cats as pets in their homes but there are lots of different types of pets.
Listen, which animal do you think this is?
That's a dog barking.
That's right. It's a dog barking.
Let's bark together like dogs.
Woof. Woof, woof. Good.
Listen again. What can you hear this time?
I'll give you a clue.
It's another kind of animal which people keep in their homes as a pet.
It's a mouse squeaking.
That's right. A squeaky little mouse squeak with me now.
squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak, oh oh oh oh.
There are other small pets which also make a squeaking.
Noise can you think of any?
Yellow. Yes. Gerbal squeak.
Any other small pets which make a squeaky noise?
Hamster. Give me a pig.
That's right. Mice, hamsters, Jerbals and guinea pigs all make a little squeaky sound.
And today's story is about a guinea pig who, da da da the last his squeak.
Oh dear... Well sit comfortably now and listen very carefully to find out what's happened.
Joe was a little boy who had a lovely pet guinea pig.
His name was Ringo, and he lived in Joe's garden in a small wooden hooch. Ringo had the sweetest little squeak you've ever heard. Every day when Joe came home from school, he would take Ringo out and let him run around the garden.
Joe would chase Ringo.
And Ringo would squeak with happiness.
Ringo squeaked all the time.
He squeaked when he was hungry.
He squeaked when he was padded and stroked.
He sometimes even squeaked in his sleep.
One Saturday morning, Joe's dad was really excited.
Today was the day he was going to build his new shed near the vegetable patch at the bottom of the garden.
Joe looked at all the big boxes and all the piles of wooden planks.
Well, Dad, it's gotta be massive, he said.
Why not Dad, big? Left Dad.
What big enough for me?
Dad's friends came to help.
There was lots of noise as they started laughing, banging, and soaring.
Joe ran over to Ringo's hutch to play with He noticed that Ringo had hidden himself in a tight ball under the straw.
Joe got him out to give him a stroke.
And then he noticed something else.
Ringo wasn't squeaking.
He was totally still and silent.
What the matter didn't go, well I aren't you squeaking?" said Joe.
You always squeak when I come to say hello.
Maybe you're hungry.
Joe found a small piece of melon in Ringo's food bowl.
He gave it to Ringo, and waited.
Nothing. Not a sound, not even a teeny, tiny one.
Ringo normally squeaked when Joe gave him some food.
Joe was upset. Oh Ringo, you've lost your squeak.
Your poor thing. I wonder where it's gone.
Dad and his friends were making thick clouds of sawdust as they drilled holes and cut into all the wood.
They didn't even hear Joe when he tried to ask them about Ringo.
Joe decided to take Ringo inside to see if they could find the squeak in the house.
Together he and Ringo looked under the rug, and there was no sign of it there.
They checked under the dog's bed and in the biscuiting, but the squeak was nowhere to be found.
Joe and Ringo came outside again and searched in the bushes and near the Bat gate, but they did not find Ringo's squeak anywhere.
Joe and Ringo looked for the squeak all weekend, but they did not find it.
Talk to me, radio !" cried Joe at last. But Ringo just looked at Joe with big, quiet eyes.
When Joe got back from school on Monday, he went straight out into the garden to let Ringo have a run around.
The new shed was finished, and Ringo seemed to like it.
He ran in and out of the shed, and then all around the vegetable patch twice.
Joe bent down, and Ringo ran towards his hand.
Then, suddenly... Ringo squeaked.
Hooray! Shouted Joe.
You found your squeak lingo!
It must have been in the vegetable patch all the time.
He took Ringo and ran into the house.
Mom lingo found his squeak?
Listen! Joinoff, as Joe stroked him, Ringo was squeaking as loudly as ever.
Perhaps he was quiet, because he was flanked by all the noise of the shed being built, said mom.
No, said Joe. Ringo's squeak was lost, that's all.
In the vegetable patch, but Ringo was so clever, he found it all by himself.
Ah, I'm happy for Ringo!
Maybe he was scared of the building noise, and that's why he found his squeak when the noise stopped.
Or, maybe he did just lose it and find it again or by himself.
Hmm, perhaps you can talk later about what you think happened to Ringo's squeak?
It's time to sing now and today's song is all about a boy who had a pet and Ringo was his name.
Mm, before we sing, let's spell out the name, Ringo, together.
First, we need an R.
R! Then, we need an I.
