Hello!
Hello?
Listen everyone.
Listen and play.
Where are we today?
Today we're in the kitchen baking some cakes.
I wonder how many sounds you know.
Here's the first one.
Listen.
It's sound water.
It's the sound of water splashing into the sink.
Here's a different sound.
Do you know what this is?
It's washing up.
Clink-glatter splash!
Yes, it's me washing up the mixing bowl I've been using.
I've been making a special birthday cake.
Here's another sound you sometimes hear in the kitchen.
It's a sound you make when you're baking a cake.
It's very noisy.
Listen.
Eat some makes, sir.
Chugga-chugga-woo!
No, they're finished.
It's the mixing machine I'm using to make a cake.
Can you help me scoop it out into the baking tin?
It needs a little bit of stirring with a spoon first.
So pretend you've got a big wooden spoon and stir it round slowly in the bowl, like me and stir it round slowly.
Round slowly and round slowly.
Just a bit more.
One more stir.
We're stirring in the flour.
We're stirring in the flour.
Sloshity sloshity, sloshity slosh, We're stirring in the flour.
I wonder if you know this song.
Keep stirring your cake with me as we sing it.
Ready?
We're stirring in the flour.
We're stirring in the flour.
Sloshity sloshity, sloshity slosh.
We're stirring in the flour.
We're breaking in the eggs.
We're breaking in the eggs.
Crackity crackity crackity crackity, crack.
We're breaking in the eggs.
We're mixing it in the bowl.
We're mixing it in the bowl.
Slouchity, slouchity, slouchity, slouch.
We're mixing it in the bowl.
We're pouring it in the tin.
We're pouring it in the tin.
Slop, pretty slop, pretty slop.
We're pouring it in the tin.
We're baking it in the oven.
We're baking it in the oven Until it's crispy golden brown.
We're baking it in the oven.
Well done everyone.
You can stop stirring now.
It's time to listen again.
Listen, listen, listen.
It's rhyme time. you Patricate, patricate, baker's man.
Make me a cake as fast as you can.
Pack it and prick it and mug it with bee.
And put it in the oven for baby and me.
Pat a cake, pat a cake baker's man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can.
Pat it and prick it and mark it with bee and put it in the oven for baby and me.
Listen, listen, listen, it's story time.
Today's story is about a baker called Betty.
Listen.
Listen.
It's cold.
Stop baking, Betty.
Once upon a baking time there was a town called Beikleton and in that town there was a baker called Betty, and in her bakery she baked the best buns in the whole wide world.
She had an amazing mixing machine, which was also very loud.
It went chugga chugga whir.
Chugga chugga whir.
And when the people of Bakeleton heard it go Chunka Chunka were, Chunka Chunka were, They knew Betty was baking her fantastic buns.
One day the Queen decided to visit Bakeleton.
The whole town was excited, especially the mayor, who was called Mayor Jelly Wobble.
The queen is coming, hip, hip, hooray!
She's coming to visit her down today, he said.
Mayor Jelly Wobble decided he would present the Queen with one of Baker Betty's buns.
So he went to see her and he said, The queen is coming, so may I say.
Get baking Betty right away.
Please.
Betty decided to bake the best, the biggest buns she'd ever baked.
So she started her mixing machine.
Chugga chugga whir, chugga chugga whir, and putting lots of bun mixture.
When the Queen arrived, the whole town flapped flags, honked horns and cheerily cheered.
Hip, hip, hooray!
The Queen has come to our town today, they said.
Betty arrived with the most beautiful bun on a silver plate.
Mary Jellywobble presented it to the Queen with a special speech.
Bette has baked this lovely bun for you, our queen, from everyone, he said.
Everyone cheered again.
Hip hip hooray!
But when Mayor Jellywob looked around for Betty, he found that she was already on her way back to the bakery.
He called after her.
Stop baking Betty!
But bake Betty's machine was so loud!
Chugga chugga word!
Chugga chugga word! that she didn't hear him.
Then, just as the Queen opened her mouth to take a bite of the bun, Betty arrived with another one.
May Jelliwobble took it and said...
Betty has baked one lovely bun that we have given you.
Now here is another one, so that makes One.
Two.
And everyone cheered.
Hip hip hooray!
But when Mayor Jelliwob looked around for Betty to thank her, he couldn't see her anywhere.
She'd gone back to her bakery again, so he yelled, stop baking Betty!
But once again, Betty's mixing machine was so loud!
Chugga chugga whir!
Chugga chugga whir!
That she didn't hear him!
Just as the Queen took a bite of their second bun, Betty arrived with another one.
Mayor Jelly Wobble took it and said, See ya!
Betty's baked two lovely buns, as you can clearly see.
Now she's bought another one and that makes one, two, Three! and the town of Bakeleton cheered.
Hip hip hooray!
Please don't bake any more buns today.
Betty?
And Betty said.
I think next time I bake a cake I'll remember I can always stir, which will stop my machine going chugga, chugga whir.
Betty's baking machine certainly was very noisy.
Here's a song about baking.
I wonder if you know it.
You can count the buns on your fingers.
It's called Five Current Buns in a Baker's Shop.
Five carat buns in a bank of shop, Round and fat, with a cherry on top.
Along came a boy with a penny one day, took it away.
Four current bonds in a baker's shop, Round and fat, with a cherry on top.
Along came a girl with a panty wand there, Bought a carrot bun and took it away.
Three carrot buns in a bank of shop, Round and flat with a cherry on top.
Along came a boy with a panty wanders, Took it away.
Two current buns in a baker's shop, Round and fat, with a cherry on top.
Along came a girl with a penny one day, Pour to Carrenbund and trip it away.
One Carrenbund in a bay catch up!
Round and flat with a cherry on top.
Along came a boy with a penny one day.
So there were no current buns left in the Baker shop.
Ooh, I feel really hungry now.
I think I'll put the kettle on and have a cup of tea in a bun.
Join me again soon and we can listen and play together.
Until next time, bye.
