instructor, who lives and breathes holistic health, and Ben, a 20 -year -old student who's been exploring ways to feel better and healthier.
Let's hear their conversation.
Hey Jaina, thanks for taking the time.
I've been feeling pretty out of it lately, and I thought you might have some ideas.
Of course, Ben. It's always nice to chat.
What's been going on?
I don't know. I'm always tired.
My skin looks awful, and I just feel like I'm dragging through the day.
A friend told me to try detoxing, but honestly, it sounds a bit...
suspicious. I get that.
The word detox is definitely overused in the wellness world.
But real detoxing isn't about fancy juice cleanses or expensive products.
It's about helping your body do what it's already designed to do.
Hmm. Okay. But how does that actually work?
I mean, isn't my body supposed to handle toxins on its own?
You're absolutely right.
Your body is already equipped to detox.
Your liver, kidneys, lungs, and even your skin all work together to filter and remove toxins.
Then why do I need to help it?
Shouldn't it just work?
Think of it like this.
Your body is like a car.
It's built to run smoothly.
but if you overload it with bad fuel or don't take care of it, it's going to struggle.
Modern life, processed food, pollution, stress, puts extra pressure on your detox systems.
But I've heard people say you need detox teas or special programs.
Are those actually helpful?
Not really. A lot of those products are more about marketing than real health benefits.
Really? Yeah. Many detox teas have ingredients that just contain laxatives, which can make you lose water weight quickly, make you go to the bathroom a lot.
But they don't address toxins.
Oh, I didn't know that.
So they don't actually detox anything?
Exactly. Your body already has a natural way to detox.
Your liver and kidneys do that job.
Real detoxing is about making easy, long -lasting changes to how you eat and live.
Not wasting money on fancy products.
That's a relief to hear, honestly.
So where should I start if I want to detox the right way?
Start with water. Staying hydrated is one of the easiest and most effective ways to support your body's detox systems.
Interesting. But how do I know if I'm drinking enough?
We should drink one, two liters of water a day, right?
Yeah. And this depends on how active you are, what you eat, and the weather where you live.
A simple way to check.
If your urine is light yellow, you're likely drinking enough water.
Okay, but plain water still feels a little boring.
Every time I finish exercising, I drink water and feel like I want to throw up.
Try adding slices of lemon, cucumber, or fresh mint.
Not only does it taste better, but lemon also provides vitamin C, which supports your liver and cucumber helps with hydration.
Hmm. I'll try. What about food?
Are there specific things I should eat?
Absolutely. Natural.
Whole foods are your best friends here.
They not only nerven your daily life.
For me, I will reduce processed foods and sugary drinks, staying hydrated and choosing natural, whole foods.
The second question.
How can you replace soda with a healthier option?
In my viewpoint, I will replace one soda with sparkling water and a little fruit juice.

Before wrapping up today's podcast episode, I'll share some interesting information that you may not know.
Did you know that when you sleep, your brain has a cleanup crew that works only at night?
Sleeping is also a phrase in the process of detoxing your body.
It's like a little team that clears away all the waste and junk your brain collects during the day.
The research at the University of Rochester proves it.
This is why sleep is so important, not just to rest, but to help your brain stay fresh and ready for the next day.
So think of sleep as your brain's way of taking out the trash.
And that wraps up today's episode.
Remember, detox is not a strict rule, but rather maintaining healthy habits every day to keep your body healthy.
Drink more water, enjoy whole, natural foods, and don't forget to rest.
Most importantly, be kind to your body because it's the only one you've got.
Thanks for tuning in, and I hope today's tips inspire you to take the first step toward feeling your best.
Until next time, take care and stay healthy.
