Hello and welcome back to my slow English podcast.
Today, I am at my aunt's house.
I traveled to the United States to visit my family.
I really missed the big houses and green trees and the hot Cheetos.
Flaming hot Cheetos are my favorite type of Cheetos.
I also bought a new hat at the thrift store.
It was only After this episode, to see if you could save.

Six dollars.
Super cheap.
I bought it at the thrift shop, so it's all second-hand clothing.
Secondhand means that it's already been used.
So it's previously been worn.
But it's still really good quality.
The weather in Nebraska has been so warm.
But today, as you can see from my red nose, it's a little bit cold.
I had to wear a sweatshirt.
It's a nice breeze.
But I prefer the warm sun.
How has your summer been so far?
I know some people get a long vacation during the summer.
But some people don't.
I remember my mom and my dad always had a vacation during the summer when it was warm and we could all go out to swim.
Or play at the park.
But some of my friends' parents would always work.
All year round.
Some all year round jobs. are like doctors, salespeople, waiters and waitresses.
Lots of workers don't get summer off.
Only really teachers do.
And only because the students need a break as well.
What I enjoyed the most about living in the United States, specifically Nebraska, were the seasons.
I loved having chilly autumn or fall, snowy winters, blossoming springs, and warm summers.
Or should I say hot summers?
In Mexico, there's basically only two seasons, rainy and dry.
Just like in Thailand, I remember there was only rainy season and dry season.
I really missed having four seasons because, even though winter here is super intense, The sidewalks are frozen ice.
The streets and roads are slippery.

It's so easy to slip and hurt yourself.
The fall is chilly and sometimes the sun never shines and I can get allergies during the spring.
It's all worth it for the gorgeous summers here.
The summers in Nebraska, they're something else.
They're so lovely.
The birds chirping, the green landscapes everywhere you look, the gorgeous trees blowing in the wind and kids playing everywhere.
Summer here is like in the movies, definitely.
I really enjoy visiting my aunts and uncles and seeing my grandma and grandpa and shopping for new clothes and really just relaxing and eating so much food.
One thing about the United States is the food.
I feel so unhealthy when I'm here.
I eat so much junk food.
Doritos, Flaming Hot Cheetos, cinnamon rolls, nachos, hot dogs, doughnuts, slushies.
There's too much here to eat.
And it's so easy to eat everything, especially since I never get to eat it in Mexico.
We don't have the same kind of Cheetos in Mexico.
We don't have Hostess Donuts or the slushies that I like.
The Doritos also taste different in Mexico.
Not bad. but different.
So eating junk food in the United States brings me back to when I was a kid.
Are there any foods, specifically junk foods, that you love and can't resist when you're in your home country?
Your home country is where you were born and raised.
It was my cousin's graduation when I arrived, so my aunt had a huge celebration planned.
She got nachos taco meat, an ice cream machine, a whole table filled with every candy you can imagine.
Doritos, Cheetos, juices, of all the flavors and cake.
It was definitely delicious, but my stomach hurt so bad after.
Tomorrow, I'm going to visit my grandparents.
They live on a farm in Nebraska.
My grandpa loves his cows and pigs and chickens and hogs.
He takes care of his farm really well.
And my grandparents bake us some rhubarb pie every time we go.
Plus, you can count on their great customer service to help you when you need it.
