This is a Sony ZV-E1.
Thank you Sony for sending this to me.
You guys know that I am a Sony gal.
I'm a long time user of their cameras.
I love their stuff.
And so, It's kind of crazy that they are sponsoring today's video, so thank you Sony.
Ever since I started the vlog around five months ago, I have been on the hunt for a small compact camera that I can add to my kit.
Just something that I can take with me on the go.
Something that I'm comfortable vlogging with in public if I need to go on location, if I'm traveling or if I just want something to capture more candid moments.
And this might be the answer.
This week I want to try out this camera and see if it can keep up with all the things that I need when it comes to a on-the-go camera.
The Sony ZV-E1 is part of their ZV line, which is geared towards content creators.
There's a lot of features in this camera that I am very curious to try out, especially the dynamic stabilizer, framing stabilizer, the auto framing and the multi-phase recognition.
Initial impressions is that it is small.
I mean, look, it just fits perfectly in my hand.
This is a full frame camera.
It's supposed to be the lightest full frame camera they have.
It also has interchangeable lenses.
For this week, we're gonna use the 20 millimeter lens.
I think that's like the sweet spot between staying cinematic but wide enough to vlog if you're on a full frame camera.
I'm pretty excited.
Let's see if this fits the bill and it's perfect timing because I got some plans this week.
Autumn is my favorite time of the year.
It's pretty, it's cozy, and it goes by way too fast.
And since we romanticize our lives on this channel, I want to spend this week doing as much autumn-related activities as possible.
Why, you may ask?
I mean, why not?
So to carry out this mission, I need three things.
One, a list of all autumn-related activities I could possibly do.
Two, a camera to document it all.
And three, a buddy to do this all with.
This is my boyfriend Colt who is visiting me from New York City this week.
Are you ready to do some fall stuff today?
An autumn classic is going to a pumpkin patch or apple picking, and I thought that this would be a perfect way to start off this week.
It is kind of windy though, so I don't know about that.
But I used to do this all the time when I was a kid, so I thought that this would be a great way to start.
Let's pick some apples and let's test out this one.
It's so windy.
This is a bumpy ride, so this is a test of the stabilization.
What's your favorite apple?
Gala apple.
Gala?
You're going to have to school me because I have no idea.
I would dub this the best vlogging camera, like no doubt yeah, and we're only like a little bit into using it.
So it's form factor.
It just like fits in your hand.
Whoa, this is so good.
So so far, I'm loving using the Sony ZV-E1.
Very lightweight.
Usually I have a carpal tunnel trying to hold my camera and vlog, but the E1 is just so, so like, ergonomically nice to hold in your hand.
I love to use tracking shots and dolly shots in my videos and I literally did not bring any other gear besides a tripod and the Sony ZV-E1.
No gimbals, no nothing, literally just handheld movement.
And both the active stabilization and the dynamic stabilization have been crazy.
And then you pair it with a frame stabilizer, it's over.
Literally a goaded vlog camera.
I love documenting my life, don't get me wrong but sometimes when you're trying to make a good video while you're on the go, sometimes it's just very stressful to try to get a really high production value and trying to get all these artistic shots on the go.
But so far, honestly, this camera has made my job so much easier as a creator.
I don't know, so far I am thoroughly impressed.
Maybe it's too good to be true, but good job, Sony.
So far, on my mission to romanticize my life.
I mean, I guess it's going okay.
Did you find one?
I think Colt found a pumpkin over there.
Oh my god.
Behold.
This thing is heavy, bro.
You're big and strong.
Thank you.
Pumpkin tour.
All right, Carrizo, welcome back to pumpkin picking.
We got this beautiful pumpkin out here, probably about 30 pounds.
Let's go carve this bad boy up, huh?
This is not what I had in mind when I said that.
Okay, this is a pumpkin that we're picking.
It's really heavy.
It's pretty good, though.
And my forearms are burning.
Let's go buy this thing.
Today, we are baking a pie.
Now it's time.
Have you ever baked a pie before?
I have not.
Have you made a pie before?
I have.
Okay.
I wouldn't say I'm a pro though.
I'm very much a hobbyist.
I'm still on the tutorial.
I have no idea.
Never, never baked a pie.
Let's start with our ingredients.
I didn't wash my hands.
What?
You're supposed to wash your hands.
You're gonna cook it anyway.
This is fun.
The bowl has been floured.
What's next?
Bob, can you just think?
Believe in yourself.
Try.
Trust me.
If you believe in yourself, baby.
Yes.
Yes.
Why are you making my life so difficult?
I'm so proud of you.
Salt.
Flowers.
What?
Okay, I'm sorry.
I'll stop.
I'm banning you from that job.
Splash is kneading the dough over there.
So far, the zve1 has been a dream to vlog with.
To be honest, i'm enjoying it.
Are you enjoying it, dude?
It's such a good camera.
It's such a good camera.
The zve1 has a lot of ai features, including this one called auto framing.
Hey, look at me, i'm kneading bro.
Oh my gosh, you're actually kneading dough.
What the auto framing will do is basically you could be talking in your frame and the camera will just follow you.
It's like having a built-in cameraman.
This feature is very handy.
If you're a solo creator who wants to add a little bit more movement into your clips, then I think that this is a feature worth checking out.
Oh my God, dude, this is looking like good.
Look at this guy.
Look at this.
Boom, show moves. is like all about documenting your life.
This is what this week is about romanticizing your life and kind of like doing this stuff even if you don't really have to.
So what's your view on that?
You're also a creator.
Do you struggle with just doing the regular stuff and like recording it?
Does it have to be something big?
There's always like a time and place for everything, and some people criticize for recording special moments.
I'd say
But I don't know, it's really cool to have things to look back on.
It's not really about the content, it's more so just like for you, you know?
Unless you let go of your standards a little bit, you're never gonna have these memories kind of captured because it's not like deemed good enough, you know.
So I think it's a good thing to just record the mundane, you know?
Even if I set out to do these things, I'm doing it because I want to document something, but it's also pushing me to like do more things in my life.
True.
Those force you to do stuff, you know?
And it's in a positive way.
Yeah.
These are things that I'm actually like been wanting to do and I'm like okay, it's kind of like now or never, type of thing.
I think it's a good thing.
It smells good.
Like, it smells like a batter.
Yeah.
Butter and brown sugar.
Moment of truth.
Whoa.
Taste test.
Taste test.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Good job.
So we made our apple pie.
It was a little runny on the inside, but some parts were really good and thickened up a little bit.
I think it's a work in progress.
7 out of 10.
Solid 7 out of 10.
Has potential for more.
When I set out to document my life more this year, part of it meant to get better at filmmaking and storytelling.
But a lot more of it was so I could learn to let go of being a perfectionist.
I was struggling between wanting to capture everyday moments but not thinking they were significant or epic enough to film.
What's going on in Canada?
It's so cold.
That's where today is the first cold day.
But that's the thing.
We may not see its importance right now, but we'll see the value of it over time.
And I always go back to thinking how great it would be that 10, 15 years from now I would have a whole part of my life that I could look back on.
If the cookies are burnt, it's good, because that's Maybe this is just my way of staying inspired and curious about life.
But either way, I find myself taking less and less for granted each time.
I'm 80% fall girly now.
Really?
Yeah, last 20 is carving these pumpkins.
Yes.
Ready?
Our final activity for this autumn bucket list is carving pumpkins.
Carving pumpkins.
Do you know what you're drawing?
I think I'm going to draw somebody just like screaming.
Like a face screaming?
Buck teeth.
Wait, why is your mouth so big?
Uh-oh, I might have to adjust.
I like it.
This is mine.
Whoa, what's that all about?
Don't listen to her.
We have gloves.
YOLO.
I'm beating you in the pumpkin competition.
What the heck?
Get on my level.
You're just jealous your pumpkin's not as cool as my pumpkin.
Hey, wait a second.
So ZV-E1 has this feature called multi-face recognition.
It adjusts the depth of field to accommodate people coming into your frame so that both of you are now in focus.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah, it is.
This is especially handy when you got your hands full and you can't be touching all the buttons on your camera all the time.
Basically, this camera's trying to make your life easier as a content creator, and it's changing the game for sure.
We are done our pumpkin carving.
Yep.
And I didn't know that this would turn into a competition, but... It's up to you guys.
It's up to you guys.
You got a pumpkin in your hand.
Oh, geez.
I think these pumpkins represent our inner selves.
Would you like to go first?
And you guys are judging, so put in the comments below who wins.
Put in the comments.
For the better pumpkin.
Okay.
Three, two, one.
Mine's like... That's like what mine sounds like.
Mine's like... You got detail on your teeth.
That's pretty good, actually.
Nice.
Yeah, so leave in the comments who's got the better.
Pumpkin was a fun week.
Let's talk about the zve one for a little bit more.
All week long, i was saying how impressed i was with how light it really is and how easy how easy it is to just hold.
If you are a content creator, if you're looking to vlog and you want a full frame camera, you want a camera that you can interchange your lenses, then this is something I would recommend for sure.
The ZV-E1.
I'm super impressed with all the AI features that this camera has, especially the framing stabilizer.
I think that was my favorite.
Oh my god, like this is such a little powerhouse.
I also like the fact that they have color profiles.
I usually shoot in S-Log3.
They have cinematic style you can burn in the black bars on your footage and they also have creative looks, which is basically kind of like LUTs, just in case that you are not keen on color grading.
So there's a lot of features on this camera that they're just trying to make life easier for content creators to streamline their footage.
You don't have to do much in post if you don't want to, which is great.
I mean, we're all trying to be efficient out here.
So also the onboard mic on this camera is great.
Vlogging in public is already hard enough.
So i like the fact that this is just such a low-key setup.
You can just like hold it in your hand.
It's full frame, so it's wide enough.
If you have like a smaller lens on it, like a 20 millimeter or an 11 millimeter it's such a good setup.
I think I'm just like raving on about this camera, but truly, I am very, very impressed.
Those are my thoughts about the Sony ZV-E1.
Thank you Sony again for sending this to me.
I can't wait to just use this all the time and have it in my kit.
And I'll link all the products in the description so you guys can check it out.
Hope you guys have fun tagging along this week.
Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you in the next one.
Bye.
Thank you.
