And now it's time for who's smarty.
Psssss. Hey, smarty pants.
Can I be completely honest with you?
I'm actually a little nervous today.
You see, I agreed to help my pal and ace reporter, Slash Weatherman, Slash Sportscaster, Slash Bagelstore owner, Chad Neckerson, with a new segment he's doing, but now I kind of wish I hadn't.
You see, Chad is planning to interview some animals to find out which one is the most dangerous.
Now, I've met a lot of animals on who smarted, but to be even more honest, I'm not sure which is the most dangerous.
What if it's something really scary?
Hey, hey, there he is. You ready trusty?
We can't keep the world's most dangerous animals waiting.
We certainly wouldn't want to upset them.
Oh boy. Alright, smarty pants.
I've eaten an energy bar.
Num, num, num, num. Put on my sneakers in case I have to run for my life.
I've also gone to the bathroom.
So hopefully I don't go in my pants when I see these scary animals.
It's time to face my fears and find the answers to questions like, what is the most dangerous animal?
What makes an animal dangerous in the first place?
And are the biggest animals always the most dangerous?
It's time for another whiff of science, history, and fear on...
Who smarted? Who smarted?
Who smart is a you? Is it me?
Is it science or history?
Listen up! Everyone, we make smarting lots of fun on who smarted.
Alright, shut. Who's our first guess?
Smarty pants I'm looking at a tan-ish brown animal that's like a cat only about 28 times bigger with a beautiful thick mane of hair around his head.
What is it? Go ahead and shout it out.
I heard a lot of smarty pants say it's a lion.
Okay, time to go. Oh, come on, trusty.
Stop being such a cowardly narrator.
Besides, I made sure all the animals ate before the interview so they wouldn't be hungry Buh.
Why, hello, Mr. Lion. What can you tell us about yourself?
Well, I'm an Asiatic Lion, which is a subspecies of lion.
Smarty pants, what do you think a subspecies is?
Is it a specific type of a certain animal?
Be, a smaller animal, or see an animal that travels underwater in a submarine?
If you said a specific type of a certain animal, nice job.
Asiatic lions live in the shrublands and forests of western India.
And trusty, thanks for noticing my beautiful thick mane of hair.
Male Asiatic lions with large dark mains are usually the healthiest.
And they don't even use shampoo.
Well, I'm glad you're feeling healthy.
I also can't help but notice you're really, really big.
Smarty pants, how long do you think Asiatic lions grow?
Is it over 5 feet or 1.5 meters?
Over 8 feet or 2 meters? Or over 10 feet?
3 meters. If you said over 8 feet, slash 2 meters, nice job.
Asiatic lions grow to be around 8.2 feet or 2.49 meters long.
The biggest was nearly 10 feet or 3 meters.
That is much bigger than me.
We also weigh around 400 and 500 pounds.
Yikes, that's like three of me.
And I can jump 36 feet or 10.9 meters.
Wow, the world's long jump record for humans is 29.36 feet or 8.94 meters.
That's not even close. Now that's impressive.
The fact that something that big and heavy can jump that far is also pretty terrifying.
You say terrifying? I say necessary.
I, like most lions, will ferociously defend my territory.
That loud roar is enough to keep me away from your territory.
In fact, we can go now, chat.
Now hang on, hang on, how would another animal know which territory is yours?
Because of these. Well, look at those giant claws.
They could shred trusty narrator in seconds.
Yes, I'm pretty proud of them.
My claws retract to stay sharp.
We mark our territory with our claws.
Nope, not going anywhere near those.
No, asiatic lion, are you the most dangerous animal in the world?
I'm flat or do you think so?
But no. Well, that's just great.
There are animals that are even more dangerous than this giant lion.
You raped lion. Ha ha. Come on trusty, let's meet our next guest.
Hello, smarty pants. Oh boy, smarty pants.
This animal is also cat-like, but much, much bigger, with orange and black striped fur.
Go ahead and shout out what you think it is.
If you said I'm a tiger, that's great.
So Mr. Tiger, what can you tell us about yourself?
Well, I'm a Bengal tiger.
I'm a dangerous predator.
I'm also pretty long. Smarty pants, the asiatic lion, was over eight feet long.
Do you think the Bengal tiger is bigger or smaller?
The answer is... Bigger.
That's right. Adult male Bengal tigers can grow to ten feet long or 3.2 meters and tend to weigh around 500 pounds.
Ha, that's how much a grand piano weighs.
So where do you live? So I know not to go there.
Adult tigers live in the wetlands, grasslands, tropical forests, and mangrove forests of southern Asia.
And do you prefer the company of other animals or narrators?
Absolutely not. We like being alone.
We're very territorial.
We're leaving. Hold on, trusty.
Just one more question.
He likes to be alone and his claws are the width of my hand.
I've seen enough. But I guess we should ask, Bengal tiger, are you the most dangerous animal?
As much as it would be great to say yes, I'm going to say no.
Great. There's something even more dangerous.
Hang in there, trusty. Let's meet our next guest.
Oh, Smarty pants? Smarty pants I am looking at a humongous animal with gray skin, floppy ears, and a long trunk.
Go ahead and shout it out.
That's right. I'm an elephant.
Oh wait, an elephant. How are elephants dangerous?
I thought they only ate plants and were nice to people.
Smarty pants, do you know?
While it's true, elephants eat plants and are generally calm and gentle.
The fact is, we're really, really big and really, really heavy and really, really strong.
Plus elephants know how to defend themselves, so if we get scared or upset, we can stampede, and very little can stop us.
Trusty, did you know elephants can grow up to 13 feet or 3.9 meters tall and weigh up to 15,000 pounds?
That is the same as a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
As the biggest land mammal on earth, I can use my weight to easily overpower other animals.
I will definitely not get you angry.
So are you the most dangerous animal?
There's much more dangerous animals than me.
Great. Come on, trusty.
Let's meet our next guest.
Oh, wow. This animal kind of looks like a dog but lives in the wild.
Smarty pants, any idea what I'm looking at?
If you said wolf, you're right.
Wolves like me challenge grizzly bears as the top predators in many habitats.
Oh, and grizzly bears are huge, so wolves must have really special skills.
We do. We're great runners and swimmers, so most prey have no chance against us.
That's like pizza not having a chance against me, but I gotta say, Mr.
Wolf, compared to the other animals we met, seem on the smaller side.
Smarty pants, how much do you think wolves weigh?
Is it a hundred pounds, 130 pounds, or 180 pounds?
If you said 130 pounds, you're right.
For a female wolf, and for a male wolf, it's around 180 pounds.
No offense, but you know, that's big for say a dog, but that's not much more than I weigh.
That's a lot smaller than I thought one of the most dangerous animals would be.
True, but bigger doesn't always mean more dangerous.
Remember that. I see, and we'll find out why after this quick break and a word from our sponsors.

We just found out that biggest doesn't always mean most dangerous.
But Mr. Wolf, are you the most dangerous animal?
Not even close, dude, later.
Okay trusty, that was a great warm up, but now it's time to hear from some of the world's top most dangerous animals.
Do we really have to? Why yes?
Yes we do. And then we'll stop by Chets Bagels for some free bagels.
Oh, it's a deal. Who's next?
Hey trusty, hey chat. I'm one of the most dangerous animals in the world.
Wait, who said that? Me?
I'm a Seatsy fly buzzing around your head.
You? You're dangerous?
You're just a tiny little fly.
I could smash you up with my who's Smarted script.
Ah, but trusty, remember what the Wolf said.
Bigger doesn't always mean more dangerous.
Yep, I might be small, but I'm parasitic.
That means I feed on the blood of other creatures and that can make them sick.
The bite of a Seatsy fly can cause something called African sleeping sickness, which is nearly 100% fatal.
It's estimated 50,000 to 500,000 people die from this disease every year.
What? Lucky for you, I've already eaten.
Bye. Holy moly, chat that fly is so dangerous.
Yep, but we're not done yet.
It's head into the ocean.
What am I looking at? This little fish?
I might look little now, but just watch.
Whoa, you're a little bigger and definitely rounder and spikier.
I'm a pufferfish, even though I'm a small fish I have the most powerful venom of any fish in the world.
And if you accidentally eat me, it can be Sayonara.
I will definitely leave you off the menu.
Who's next, chat? A snake?
But not just any snake. I'm a source-hilled viper.
Scientists believe I'm responsible for more human deaths than any other snake species.
Combined. I also like to bite early and often.
Great. Next? Since we're talking reptiles, here's another one for you.
Ah, I was expecting to see this one on a list of dangerous animals.
Smiley pants this long, green, scaly monster has tons of teeth and lives in rivers, mershes and swamps in soap, Saharan Africa.
Is it a, the crocodile? B, an alligator or sea, a chameleon.
If you say that crocodile, my bite has up to 5,000 pounds per square inch of horse.
It's among the most powerful bites of any animal on the planet.
So who are you the most dangerous animal?
Nope. Tata. Okay, trusty.
That was all fun and games.
But are you now ready to meet the most dangerous animal on the planet?
Yes, let's just get it over with.
As if this weren't bad enough, there is an annoying mosquito bothering me.
Yes, but that's just it.
Me. I'm the most dangerous animal in the world.
Hold on. The most dangerous animal in the world is a mosquito.
Sidd subtypes of mosquitoes can cause dangerous diseases like malaria, yellow fever, zika and dengue.
Mosquitoes are considered the most dangerous animal.
Governments and international organizations around the world spend billions of dollars a year fighting us.
And there you have it. You did it trusty.
You survived a monogory of some of the most dangerous animals on the planet.
I know, but I can't believe I was so worried about dangerous animals when the most dangerous one is right in my backyard all summer.
Well, there are over 3,000 species of mosquitoes, but only a handful spread dangerous diseases.
So chances are, you'll be okay.
Uh, I'm not taking any chances.
You owe me a free bagel. A big shout out to Super Smarty fan Jackson in Rockville, Maryland.
We're so glad to hear that you listen or re-listen to episodes of who smarted every single night before bed.
