Hey guys, if you clicked on this video, you probably have a pretty high level of English.
You may even be hoping to get a job in English, whether that's in an English speaking country or within an international country.
And you just want a little bit of practice doing a mock interview in English.
Last year I did a conversation practice video, which I'll link here, where you practiced having a conversation with me and you guys loved that format so much that I thought I would do one for a job interview.
So I'm going to pretend to be someone giving you a job interview.
I'm going to ask you questions and then I'm going to leave enough time for you to answer.
Of course, if you do need more time you can always pause the video.
So I don't interrupt you.
And if afterwards you want to see a transcript of the questions I asked plus some response suggestions to those questions, I've linked that in the description below.
If you really want to test your skills, my suggestion would be to complete this mock interview.
Complete this video before you go ahead and download it and read through the questions and the response suggestions first, just to see where you really are at right now in your English.
Okay, so let's begin.
Hello, I'm Clare.
Please take a seat.
Thank you so much for coming in for an interview today.
Tell me about yourself.
Great.
Why do you want to work here?
Why do you think you would be a good fit for this particular role?
Okay, what would you say are your strengths? how would your colleagues describe you?
That's great.
Can you tell me about a challenge you faced at work and how you overcame it?
Okay, well, thank you so much for your time and for coming in today.
We'll be in touch about the position shortly.
All right, guys, let me know how that went for you in the comments.
If you liked this practice and you want even more practice and tips surrounding business English in general, I have my full business English course available in my online community Next Level English.
As a community member, you get access to that complete course and so much more.
I even post podcast episodes over in my community.
And for one podcast episode, I interviewed my dad, who has conducted hundreds of job interviews in English.
So I interviewed him about what he likes to see in a candidate and different tips for giving job interviews, specifically in the united states.
So there's that and so much more, so many more resources within my community.
And it's just a place where you can build your confidence in English through daily practice, daily mini lessons, shadowing practices, live group calls, so much more so, if you're interested, click the link in the description below to learn more.
All right, guys.
Thanks for watching, as always, and i'll see you next time.
Bye for now.
