I always love filming and putting together school-related videos, especially this time of year, because this is when I was the most stressed.
During high school, I had a trimester schedule, so I had finals right now.
And then in college I switched to a semester schedule, so I had midterms and then finals at the end of the year.
And then, with the holiday season and everything going on, I always felt so stressed and burnt out this time of year.
So that's why I wanted to dedicate an entire video on how I maintained straight A's throughout the entire a year, how I stayed motivated even when I was super stressed, and how I romanticized school, because it always helps when you actually enjoy going to school.
So I'm so excited.
We have so much to go over in this video.
So let's get started.
So I just finished setting up my entire desk.
I love how this looks so much.
It is very pink and very cute.
It's very me.
I honestly always loved having a dedicated workspace for school.
I feel like it makes me feel so much more motivated when I only sit down here to work on stuff.
It's like my brain is associating this part of my room with school and getting things done and being productive.
Just the same as my bed is associated with sleep.
So I only lay down in my bed when I'm going to sleep.
And then that way I'm so much more tired when I lay down.
Does that make sense?
I feel like when you have these rituals, your brain starts to understand what you're gonna be doing at that place.
The first thing that always helps me when I'm feeling super overwhelmed or stressed is to write a list of everything I need to get done.
This honestly helps me every single time because I'm a very visual person.
So I need to see exactly what I have to do written down.
So I just got this new notebook.
I think it's so cute for this time of year.
It's this like fall themed shopping list, but I'm going to use it for writing everything.
And then I'm also writing any important due dates in my planner just so I could see what projects should be on the top of my priority list. and then to make it fun i bought these planner stickers as you guys know i love romanticizing my life so doing cute little aesthetic things during mundane tasks or routines makes it so much more exciting i'll do this by color coding adding stickers using cute school supplies like anything to make something more exciting And I don't know if I'm the only one that does this, but when creating a list of things I have to get done, I also write down things that I've already gotten done that day just so I can cross them off and already feel accomplished.
I think it's important to recognize when you're super productive and getting things done.
That way, it feels more rewarding.
Always hated waking up early for school.
It was one of my least favorite parts of the school year, like even though I would romanticize waking up early.
It was always such a challenge for me, but the one thing that always helped a little bit was watching a show while I was getting ready in the morning.
So that's what I've been doing lately.
As I've been getting up early, I feel like it's one thing I can always look forward to, even if I only have time to put it on for like five minutes.
I usually would watch a show and do my makeup at the same time, and it made it a lot more fun in the morning.
It also helped to wake me up.
My favorite show of all time, as you know, is The Vampire Diaries.
I've rewatched that show like 30 times easily.
It's just always on.
I always am watching it.
I love the aesthetic of it.
It's so good.
But recently I've been watching Supernatural for the first time and I love it.
I think it's so good.
I feel like especially for this time of year it's so good.
So that's what I've been putting on as I've been getting ready in the morning and it's so nice.
I just love watching shows.
I honestly, am always watching, so i just finished getting dressed.
I wanted to show you a very typical outfit for me recently.
I'm wearing this long sleeve top from brandy.
I love it because it's like cut along here, so it's almost like off the shoulder.
I think it's so cute.
I've been loving these like henley tops for fall and winter, and then i have these low-rise jeans on and then my bag.
As i showed you guys, i bought this year.
I've been wanting this bag for so long, so i'm so excited.
It honestly is the perfect school or work.
Um, I had the most productive morning ever, ever since the Sun started setting at 4 pm again.
I have been so unproductive at nighttime, like I don't know what it is, but as soon as it gets dark out I don't want to do anything.
So the only solution to that is just to get up earlier so I have more daylight.
I just had a cup of coffee, but now I'm gonna go up and make some breakfast.
I have been loving these yogurt jars that I've been making at home.
These are so perfect because you can make a couple and store them in your fridge and have them for breakfast or a snack.
I like putting Greek yogurt, honey and fruit.
Usually strawberries or bananas are my go-to and I love just having it ready to go.
So if I'm in a rush in the morning, I can just grab it super quickly and I don't have to worry about cooking something before I leave the house.
Are you ready?
Oh whoa okay, fine.
Next i want to show you guys how i've been studying effectively.
Recently i've been interested in learning a new language.
I actually took french in high school and college, but since i wasn't consistent over the last couple years, i wanted to refresh my memory by relearning the basics.
I also just went to europe for two weeks and while i was able to slightly speak and read, i realized how badly i wanted to improve.
So i've been learning french on rosetta stone and it has been such an effective and fast way to start learning.
Rosetta Stone is an immersive language learning program that teaches through context images, listening and speaking.
Much like how you learned as a child.
It adapts to all learning styles, whether you're visual repetition focused or learn best by listening.
My goal has been to practice every day, and each lesson is as short as five minutes, making it so much easier to maintain consistency.
I especially love Rosetta Stone because I'm learning skills for real world experience, like learning pronunciation and skills for an actual conversation.
There's also a true accent speech recognition technology so I can practice speaking French and get instant feedback on my pronunciation based on real native speakers.
Speaking and listening was always the most difficult for me, so I've been trying to say things out loud as much as possible in order to feel more confident.
I've been loving studying French again, and I'm so excited to see my progress.
So if you're thinking about learning a new language or gifting someone something meaningful, now's the time.
Rosetta Stone Best Deal of the Year offers a single language for 99 or all 25 languages for 149 over 60 off.
So treat yourself or someone you love this holiday season by clicking the link in the description or scanning the QR code to grab the offer.
Today is like the foggiest day ever and i'm usually really not a fan of that, but i don't know.
I've been so into like, the cozy weather recently.
I'm really trying to romanticize it.
So i have on a super comfy outfit.
I'm wearing this hollister sweater and then i have the lace tank top underneath.
You guys know the vibe i'm trying to go for and i just pulled up to my favorite cafe where i'm gonna sit down, drink my latte and read.
Does it get any better than that?
Like honestly, i have had like the busiest last couple weeks and i haven't had time to do anything like this.
So i really wanted to carve out a morning this week that i dedicated to just some self-care time, and i feel like this is very much self-care time.
Like i'm just so excited to sit down and do this.
I'm actually going to be finishing this book today.
If you guys saw my recent reading vlog i did last month, you guys would know i'm back in my reading era and i am so happy.
That was honestly one of the most productive cafe days i've had in a while.
I ended up finishing this entire book.
So i've been reading the pumpkin spice cafe.
I read it in like three days.
Like it was a very easy and fun read.
Did i love it?
No, i would probably give this like a three out of five stars.
It was a romance and it was very like fall cute, very gilmore girls.
It's literally by laurie gilmore.
Like when I saw even just the author's name, I was like okay, wait.
I feel like I know the vibe of this book already.
Honestly, I did enjoy it.
It was really cute.
I finished it really quickly.
I really wanted to time myself today to see how long it would take me to finish this book.
It was actually really satisfying.
It took me an hour and a half exactly to finish like 120 pages, which I feel like is really good.
Like 60 pages an hour, I feel like is a pretty good reading speed.
So yeah, I did like this.
It was very cute for this time of year but like, just based off of the page markers, like I wasn't loving it.
I literally marked off like four pages.
Honestly, I don't think I'll read the other books as part of this series.
It's basically like you don't have to read each book in order because it's all like interconnecting worlds and you meet some of the characters in here.
Like i already know which characters are in the second book, but each one is a romance and it's kind of their own story, which i think is really cute.
Like i actually had no idea these connected at all, so i love that.
It's very like on theme with the season.
This one was just perfect to read right now but, to be honest, i don't think i'll read rest of the series.
I genuinely just feel like i have the longest to read list right now.
I walked into one of my favorite bookstores that's right next to my favorite cafe.
It's very dangerous on the street.
There were honestly just so many books on my to read list, so i feel like, since i didn't love this book, i'll probably move on to another series, but it was cute.
I did like it, especially for this video.
I feel like this is the perfect book to talk about.
That is it for today's video.
Thank you so much for watching and staying until the end.
I love all of you guys so, so much.
I have so many fun and exciting videos planned for the rest of the year.
So definitely subscribe if you aren't already.
And I wish you luck through the rest of the semester.
I honestly just always had something at the back of my head that kept me motivated, like something to look forward to, or like the next holiday break that I got to go on, that I was off of school for, even like picking up a coffee before school or after school.
Those little things always kept me super motivated.
So if you are feeling super burnt out, make sure to take care of yourself.
Do those extra little self-care things for yourself, because you deserve it.
This time of year is so chaotic.
We will get through this together and finish out the school year strong.
I love you guys so, so much, and i will see you guys in my next video bye.
