I have a couple vinyls.
When I was younger I would look at this guy called French Attack that has super rare jabs from Twilight to Cortex, which I've seen live a few weeks ago.
It's so good.
Okay.
Directions for you.
Shake well.
Never spray towards your face.
Hold it upright.
This sets off the alarms.
We're going to be like, precautions, mineral oil.
Should be good.
Health hazards.
Should be good.
How much do you shake?
That's fine.
You think that's fine?
What is it?
Air?
Atmospheric aerosol.
I'm scared.
All right.
Are you going to spray it on the thing?
No, no.
It's in the air.
It fills up the whole room.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
We're going to set the alarm off.
No.
We don't do it podcast microphone style.
We don't make it quick.
So one of my first videos had like 30 chains on it.
My first watch was a smartphone that you can't watch.
Nobody was watching Stern on it.
Just the computer.
2003 had had it ever since.
Black Panther newsletters, Marry a Pet.
I loved Goosebumps as a kid.
I decided to get a bike.
It feels kind of sad saying this, but growing up, I never quite had a friend group.
That's not to say, from time to time I didn't drift into certain circles, but it was never really the nostalgic image that I had created in my mind.
And maybe it was all the movies and shows that I watched growing up where the kids had that group.
You know, like in Stranger Things or in ET, where they all have this inseparable bond and every weekend night they get together and have sleepovers and we go on ventures, and I never felt like I had that.
And as I got older, I realized if I didn't do something, nothing would ever change.
So I started reaching out to people on the internet.
And over time, I think I found my group of people.
But as I entered college, I wondered if it would be like starting from a blank slate again, or if what I had learned could maybe be replicated, and if it would just be easier to find my group of people this time around.
In the first few weeks, I met a lot of people, but I didn't meet my people.
And I think I thought it would just come more naturally and that we'd cross paths based on I don't know.
But that just hasn't been the case.
And we've got Polaroid later today.
I'm reaching back out to iMind to make sure that we can get the money.
We had Polaroid this morning.
Alright, see you guys.
And my internet friends are great.
And I get to see them in person a lot.
But I still want to make friends here.
I still want to find my group.
But... It's just been a bit harder than I thought it'd be.
So...
This will plug into that.
That's portable.
Can you imagine an outdoor movie night for friends?
You wanna be a part of the film?
You sure?
Come back, come back later.
We're watching a movie.
Yeah, we're set.
We got equipment.
We got a generator?
I did make one good friend though, and his name was Aiden.
And without Aiden, I would have felt really, really lonely at school.
But on one Wednesday night we had the grand idea of setting up the projector in the main common area, with hopes that hey, maybe if we set something up people will sit down and watch with us and maybe we'll make some new friends.
But it was 10 o'clock on a Wednesday night and kind of cold outside, so no one showed up.
But it was the intention that counted. much like the hands of a swimmer.
This unique figurative device enables the hummingbird to remain suspended.
I just tried to make it seem like I just walked in my room, but that was a complete lie.
I don't even have my shoes on, but it feels like a better transition into the scene.
Forgive me.
But I'm being honest, you know, at least.
Just finished my media class, and this is today's lunch.
I don't wanna spill it, but chimichurri steak with carrots, purple broccoli, and potatoes.
A pleasant surprise, very nice.
It's pledging season right now.
And as I finished getting my meal, I walked past a large crowd of people and I was like what's going on?
There's never that many people congregated in this one section of the cafeteria.
And I look and there is a boy, a younger boy, presumably a freshman with a dog cone on his head.
So like all around him box of cereal and a milk jug, and i walk past and i see him pouring the cereal and everyone's laughing and he's pouring the milk jug and frat culture is definitely interesting.
I could make a whole documentary on it.
Let me know if you want to see that.
Actually it's probably dangerous.
I think what's slowly starting to get to me is the fact that college still feels very much like high school.
Know, i thought it would feel different um, but it doesn't.
And all the same friend groups that existed in high school.
I see the same weird image here where the jocks and the frat dudes hang out and the sorority girls and i don't know.
Maybe it's not fair to say all that, but i just haven't found my group yet and nothing has clicked.
You know, I thought I did everything I was supposed to.
I joined the clubs, I put myself out there, I smiled, but I guess it wasn't enough?
I don't know.
I just don't know what to do.
Yeah, I don't know.
All this mundane, boring thing everybody has to do every day of their fucking life.
I was going to say the poetry of day-to-day life, but you know, you say it the way you say it.
I'll say it the way I say it.
But no, listen, think about it like this.
All right, think about it like this.
Why is it that a dog, you know, sleeping in the sun is so beautiful?
You know, it is, it's beautiful.
But a guy standing in a bank machine trying to take some money out looks like a complete moron.
Go round trip because you're one way.
So basically the plan is to go knock on strangers doors to go get them to play cricket with us tomorrow with the stranger we just met, You coming with us.
To go knock on the door.
Sure.
Hi.
Do you know what cricket is?
Cricket?
The game?
Hi.
Do you know what cricket is?
Cricket?
Like the game?
The sport?
Yeah.
Have you ever played before?
No.
Would you be willing to play tomorrow at 11am?
Or should we just do it tonight?
Tonight?
I feel like people are going to be more inclined tonight.
Tomorrow people have classes.
So what cricket is?
Cricket?
Like the game?
I mean like low key but also not but like yeah.
Would you be willing to play a game of cricket with a bunch of strangers for one hour?
For one hour?
I just come here when I put my focus time on to study.
Like, I've been studying for 12 minutes straight.
It'll take one hour.
It'll take one hour?
Yeah, then you can study the rest of the way.
Will you let me get in the jacket?
Yeah!
Hi.
What's up?
Yeah, dude.
Would you be willing to play for an hour right now?
Nah.
Um, you want to play cricket for an hour?
Cricket?
Yeah.
Alright, fuck that.
Are you willing to play it for one hour right now?
I'll let my buddies do it.
Alright, call me.
Yeah!
Yeah! for a project, so come on, you can do it.
We're eating, but I don't care.
So this is what private school people are like.
Those are like the things we had on there last time.
Yeah, we have to like sign it and whatnot.
How do you feel?
This is better than expected?
Yeah, way better.
We could play a full game.
Yeah?
Yo, let's go!
Okay everyone, first off, thank you for joining this weird spontaneous game of cricket today.
Sean and i met today, earlier this morning, and you realize that as the semester goes on, you really don't put yourself out there to meet new faces, to meet new people, etc etc.
And so i asked sean what he liked to do and he subtly dropped that he was a national level cricket player.
So, our asses, we're gonna get whooped.
We'll go easy.
So should we start like, explaining the rules?
Yeah.
Go for it.
Okay.
Well, so the way this game works... Yo, is everyone ready?
Yeah.
Let's go!
There we go, hit the front.
Yes!
I had to follow that.
I want to see what a good throw.
This one doesn't count.
Sofina, just stand there.
Dude, she's going to have to drag us out every time.
What the?
Oh!
Oh, no.
I didn't hit it.
Boo!
Sabotage!
Are you okay?
I'm good.
That was just funny.
Oh, my God.
She's a better person.
She was hit.
Brutally.
By the professional bowler.
By the professional bowler.
So I think by default, I think we won.
Y'all don't even have a team name.
Team winners.
Team winners.
Anyway, this was a great day.
Thank you.
I had to study for business.
I got to study for Excel.
Excel?
Excel.
I want to thank nebula anchor for sponsoring this episode and for sending me two awesome projectors the capsule 3 laser and the cosmos laser 4k.
Look, there's no happy ending here and i haven't met that group yet.
I think it just might take more time, but i think the things that do take more time are worth waiting for.
Anything worthwhile is usually a bit difficult, but now I have some ideas.
I think I want to throw a movie screening with Nebula's products and try again.
I think if I did some more marketing and spread the word, something might just happen.
Anchor Nebula is actually the first brand to put laser technology into a portable projector.
Now, laser is the most advanced technology in the projector category and, for what it's capable of, It stacks up as the best all-around, affordable projector for anyone looking to make their viewing experience a bit more special.
You can learn more by clicking the link in the description.
Thank you for watching.
Much love.
