My dad works in B2B marketing, but I never really knew what that meant.
Then one day, my dad came by my school for career day and told everyone in my class he was a big MQL man.
Then he just kept saying things like, The more MQLs the better, over and over.
My friends still laugh at me to this day.
I think it means marketing qualified lead?
One thing's for sure, I'll be known as the MQL man's kid for the rest of my days.
Why can't you just be a fireman or a lawyer?
Why? You ruined my life dad.

Welcome to Before Breakfast, a production of iHeartRadio.
Good morning. This is Laura.
Welcome to the Before Breakfast podcast.
Today's tip is that you can do most things at whatever time you wish.
Yes, there may be conventions, but if those conventions don't make sense, for the most part, it's not a big deal.
So there is a coffee shop in New York that has a sign in the window reading, it's 9 o 'clock somewhere.
I'm assuming they're playing with the saying it's 5 o 'clock somewhere, used to justify enjoying alcohol before the traditional cocktail hour.
While I'm not sure about the wisdom of having a beer at 9 a .m.
on a random Tuesday for most of us, there may be some people for whom that's right.
When I went out for breakfast near a ski resort once, I noted a number of gentlemen at the bar bright and early.
It turned out these were the mechanics and trail maintainers and such who'd worked on the ski lifts and slopes overnight.
So they'd be ready at opening time.
To them, 9 a .m. was the end of their shift.
Just like 5 o 'clock would be for anyone else.
If they wanted a beer with friends before going home to bed, why not?
Likewise, if you want coffee at lunch or early afternoon, go for it.
Within reason, you can generally do what you want when you want.
It doesn't really matter what people say is supposed to happen when.
Want to decorate for Christmas in mid -October?
Fine. Want to put on a fancy dress to go out to eat at a diner?
Why not? Do you have the perfect gift idea for your mom and don't want to wait till Mother's Day?
Give it to her now and wish her a happy Monday.
Want leftover Pad Thai for breakfast and eggs for lunch?
Sure. White jeans after Labor Day?
Does anyone even notice anymore?
There are lots of rules for what we are supposed to do when and some of these might be helpful, but some just may not serve you well.
If so, you can let them go.
And honestly, it can sometimes be a little fun to flout time conventions.
The beach town I visit each summer puts on a giant Christmas pageant in August.
People like Christmas.
They like singing Christmas carols.
And there are certainly more people in the beach town in August than in December.
So why not? I love eating breakfast for dinner for similar reasons.
Now to be sure, there is no reason to flout convention stupidly.
I am not going to have a giant cup of coffee at 10pm unless I am deliberately trying to stay up all night.
And since I am not repairing a ski lift as my job, I am generally not.
But it is always morning somewhere.
If you like your white jeans in December, wear them.
In the meantime, this is Laura.
