Welcome to Charm Words, your daily reminder to be good to yourself and others.
My name is Zola and together we're going to breathe in the good, breathe out the bad and use words to remind ourselves of our worth.
We may have heard our friends or adults use the phrase personal space before.
But what exactly is our personal space?
Picture a bubble or a balloon.
Our personal space is like a bubble or balloon where we can feel comfortable.
In fact, we all have our own personal bubbles.
And to make sure we all feel safe within our own spaces.
We must be mindful of others' personal space.
For example, if someone seems to be busy doing something, it's best to give them their space and not interrupt them.
Let's stay aware of our surroundings and the surroundings of the people around us.
Today's charm words remind us that valuing personal space is a way to show kindness and consideration for others.
We can demonstrate this by not standing too close to someone unless they invite us in.
We can also avoid touching or hugging someone without their permission.
Or if our sibling or family member is trying to take a nap in the next room.
Let's try to keep our voices down to give them the peace and quiet they need.
It's important to be aware of people's boundaries and not invade their space without their consent.
Let's do some belly breathing, then we'll do our affirmations.
When you breathe in, use your nose and keep your shoulders still.
Once your belly fills up like a balloon, breathe out through your mouth by just letting go.
In through the nose, out through the mouth.
Ready?
Take a gentle, deep breath slowly through your nose.
And breathe out through your mouth.
In through your nose.
And out through your mouth.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
One more time.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
Today's charm words are, I respect the personal space of others.
I'll say it first, then repeat after me.
Ready?
I respect the personal space of others.
I respect the personal space of others.
I respect the personal space of others.
I respect the personal space of others.
Fabulous!
Respecting the personal space of others is about being kind and considerate.
By giving others the space they need and being mindful of their boundaries, we can create a more comfortable and respectful environment for everyone.
We deserve a high five.
On the count of three.
High five the person closest to you or clap your hands together and high five yourself.
Ready?
One, two, three.
