We tested AI for predicting interview questions based on one of our own job ads and, much to our surprise, it was a huge success.
It pretty accurately predicted the majority of questions we ask candidates in an actual job interview.
Hi everyone.
In today's video we're going to talk about how to use AI to prepare for your job interview and we'll give you the exact prompt to get a near-perfect prediction of the questions you'll be asked in your next interview.
Thing about using ai for interviews is it could go terribly wrong, because if you ask chat gpt what are the questions out here in the job interview, it'll give you a basic list of questions and the reality is that hiring managers are going to ask you much more detailed questions.
And even if you try to specify more let's say i search what are common interview questions for an sdr it's still going to be pretty generic because the role of an SDR varies vastly depending on the industry, company location and tons of other factors.
But we've discovered a little trick to use AI that pretty accurately predicts detailed questions.
First, you'll need to provide it with a job description and write a good prompt.
If you're using a GPT proxy via an API such as Chatbot UI or Yak GPT, you can set the system prompt.
That will be valid for all the questions you ask AI.
This is also possible with a paid OpenAI ChatGPT account.
Just go to Settings and click Customize ChatGPT.
Then, paste this paragraph here.
You're known for being very matter of fact and straightforward.
Your advice is actionable and at the same time goes beyond the obvious and generic.
Use direct language and avoid weak phrases such as you might want to.
It's often beneficial to consider doing something and the like.
In simple terms, you just tell people what to do.
If you don't have this option, you can just type it as a pre-prompt in the text editor.
This way, AI knows exactly what they need to do and gives you more detailed answers.
Now is when you want to add a prompt.
The key to any stellar prompt is details.
This way, your tool understands exactly what you're asking.
Here's the prompt that we used.
I'm preparing for a job interview for a job title role.
I'm expecting to be asked some behavioral interview questions.
I'd like to prepare for the ones that are most likely to be asked.
Give me a list of possible behavioral interview questions based on the job description pasted below.
Here's the job description.
And then you'll paste the job description there.
It's simple, but this prompt gave us a really similar list to real questions we asked in an interview.
And it doesn't stop there.
You can do this with every style of questions you could be asked.
You definitely want to ask it for questions about your experience and skills, situational interview questions and cultural interview questions.
And before we wrap this up, there are a few helpful things you can add to your prompt to get super detailed questions.
Your resume, the job description, your previous job description, the company's mission and best practices, and information from their website about life at that company.
In short, AI can be a super helpful tool to prepare for your next interview, but could also completely ruin your chances of making it to the next round if not used correctly.
