Lost your job in Tennessee?
You're not the only one.
And you're not alone.
This video will walk you through the key things you need to know to move forward without the runaround.
Let's start with the basics.
Go to jobs4tn.gov.
Scroll down and click File for Unemployment.
You'll create an account.
Enter your work history for the past 18 months and submit your bank info if you want direct deposit.
Once you file, check your inbox and message center daily.
This is how you'll get updates or requests for more info.
Once approved, there's a one-week waiting period.
After that, benefits usually show up within two to three business days, but it can take two to three weeks for your claim to be processed.
So file as soon as possible, and keep up with your weekly certifications in the meantime.
If you quit without a good reason, were fired for misconduct, aren't actively searching for work or didn't earn enough during your base period, you could be denied.
Keep applying for jobs each week and log at least three job search activities to stay eligible.
