I hate to say it, but I need a new desk.
This is just a spare Ikea desk that I have.
It's only temporary, but I guess for now I'll do the job all right.
Finally, now everybody can stop stressing about my wobbly table.
Nothing was shaking.
So it's the end of summer and basically it's when september hits.
Fall is here and i feel like i need to organize my life.
Past few months trying to document my life have been bored seriously.
It just goes by so fast and i feel like i can just I can be a little more on top of it.
You know, just a little bit.
So I figured today will be the day that I take some time to organize my life.
I want to go over some goals, project management and list out my priorities and to-do lists in the near future and then within the next couple months as well.
My go-to app for anything life organization is Notion.
If you've been following my channel for a while, then you know that I love Notion and I'm happy to say that they are sponsoring today's video.
Notion is basically a productivity and note-taking app that is very customizable, very aesthetic.
It can fit any of your needs and I freaking love it.
I tell everybody and a mama to sign up for Notion.
So today I'm going to share some of my workflow, a bit of my templates that I use and overall, how I use it to organize my life.
So on days like this, I like to start by setting my goals for the next three months.
I think that's a reasonable timeframe and just the right amount of urgency, yet not overwhelming.
So this is my Notion homepage.
And then I go over here to goals.
Boom.
This is my goals page.
Here, as you can see, I list my top three goals for the quarter.
I think three is a good amount for a quarter of a year.
And then on this side, you can see why.
And this is where I write a vision statement or just something to remind me why I'm doing these goals in the first place.
And this is a quote by Simon Sinek from the book Start With Why.
I highly recommend that book. but that's why I just put that there.
If you scroll down a little bit you can see I have goal one, goal two, goal three, and then I can list out the steps I need to take in order to achieve that goal.
I like starting with this.
It just gives me a good overall vibe of how the next three months will be.
So the reason why I was curious about Notion in the first place was because I needed a place to manage and organize all my projects.
In Notion, you can create databases which are totally customizable.
Before this, all my files were in Apple Notes and Google Docs, and so now I can keep everything in one place, from my idea catalog to my checklist.
So now let's go over to my YouTube dashboard.
This is the catalog I guess you can call it of all my videos that i've posted on my channel so far.
So, as you can see, i have the video title here, publish date, and then the status of the video and then the type or the category that it falls under.
What i like about this is that you can sort it however way you like.
I sort it by publish date and status.
You go over to filming, you can see that i can change it, so if i'm editing it then i can just change it to that And then you can see all the categories that you can choose down there.
If you have projects or if you're in school and you have assignments, you can also do this.
I just happen to do videos, so that's what I use it for.
At the bottom of this page, I added a brain dump page.
Click it.
It says ideas go here.
Basically, if I'm on the go or if I get a random idea, I just open up the app and I jot it down or add a little video or photo into it.
One thing that would be really cool if Notion could add it would be voice memos.
If we could just put voice memos into the page, just like how we do with videos or photos.
But besides that, it's always nice to just have a little page that I can just dump my ideas in more than once.
Then you're gonna need a system for that process.
One thing that i did do here was you can see a youtube template.
This template has editing checklist, publishing checklist, video ideas, description anything that goes into your video.
You can type it here, which is super handy.
I love it.
So what i want to do is just to put in some of the ideas that i have like in my notebooks and transfer them into my notion so i can just have them all in one place.
So, aside from project management, what I also like to use notion for is just everyday life stuff.
Usually, when things get busy, everything else in my life takes like a backseat, especially with like working out and all that stuff, which is not good.
I just want to be able to, you know, feel like a normal human being most of the time.
So, now that I went over my goals and the projects that I have coming up now, I have a sort of an overview of how the next few months are gonna look.
And now I can go over here to my homepage and just fill out my to-do lists that are more immediate for this week, some life stuff that I have to do and upcoming, anything that I need to look out for.
Oh, and then down here, I also added a habit tracker.
This took me so long to figure out how to do.
So you just click this and then today's date comes up.
And then as you click, the progress bar goes up.
Isn't that, that's so cool.
And I keep this on my homepage so when I open up Notion, it's right there and I can see it.
Honestly, Notion is so easy to use, so customizable.
You can change the layout to whatever you want and whatever style that you like, whatever your aesthetic is.
And I try to change it up quite a bit.
Keep it exciting, you know, mission accomplished.
I hope it was helpful today to see how i organized my life using notion.
I love notion.
Thank you notion, for sponsoring this video.
If you want to sign up for notion, you can use the link in my description and i'll also include a link to the templates that i used that i showed you guys today.
Their personal plan is 100 free, which is honestly incredible for everything that you get.
Hope you guys enjoyed the past two videos of me kind of diving more into the behind the scenes of my creative process.
It's been really fun to share.
As always thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you soon.
