It's my dad's 70th birthday, so we're going on a five-day trip to Jeju island and it's both of their first time back in 35 years, First stop.
We just got here and our first meal is jjigae guksu.
I had this last time and it was really good.
This is really spicy.
My dad wants to travel as much as he can while he's healthy, and as much as it breaks my heart to just see that they're aging, I can only just cherish and be grateful for moments like this.
Welcome to our hotel.
We are staying at Parnas Hotel, which is this beautiful resort hotel right by the beach and the water.
So I'm really excited.
My mom loves the ocean, so I wanted to get like a place that's vibes.
My dad walks about 15,000 steps a day so I thought Jeju would be a perfect place to take them.
They can explore more of Korea and we can also do a lot of walking together.
Does this hotel look familiar to anyone?
It's apparently the hotel where they filmed King of the Land.
Wow.
My mom knows how to enjoy a buffet.
It's a little bit of everything.
This is just starters.
She's got a long way to go.
We're gonna go walk around the hotel.
There's like a really nice beachfront view and there's like a walking trail.
This is one of those moments where I'm like so grateful that I can spend this kind of quality time with them, and it's just been so relaxing and so nice.
Here in Chengdu, i got to see my parents in a slightly different light.
Whenever i would look at them, i could tell that they're thinking about something.
Their minds are somewhere else, probably thinking about work, but it was so refreshing to see that they were truly living in the present and taking everything in.
We're just on a little walking trail outside our hotel and we were just at the beach, and now I feel like we're in the forest.
Guys, I'm gonna mix this by the way.
This is how you know I'm fully on vacation mode.
I'm not thinking about what I'm wearing.
It's not fair to the gram.
I'm purely just taking every second of this moment.
This is my mom and dad's hometown.
Where is your hometown?
Seogwipo.
Where is Seogwipo?
Here.
My dad is from Hanlim.
Hanlim.
Hanlim, Daerimni.
Where did you get married?
Oh, Hanlim, Daerimni.
I went to Seoul.
Seoul.
And then I went to the U.S.
Oh, that's nice.
I wanted to wear clothes before my mom passed away.
I wanted to wear clothes before my mom passed away.
How old are you?
I'm 94 years old.
I'm just giving it to you.

Yesterday i went to the doctors because i was feeling like crap.
The night before we went night swimming and then i slept with the ac on, which is such a bad idea.
I always always always, get sick when i sleep with the ac on, and hotel acs will be the death of me.
So i had really bad fever.
Luckily, my mom she wiped down my body with a cold towel to lower my fever and i bounced back in a day, which That never happens.
Usually my colds last like two weeks, like a week or two.
So my mom's parents are actually from Jeju-do.
My mom's personality is very free.
She's like a, she's like an island girl, whereas my dad is from the city, so he got that city personality.
Thank you.
It's only 2pm and we are in.
Oh my god.
I just started and I'm already out of breath.
But we are at Hadasan and we're doing a trail.
That's a two-hour round trip, so it's like an easier course, but it's been less than like three minutes and I'm already out of breath.
This incline is crazy.
My dad walks like 15 steps a day, so he's kind of crushing this hike.
It's been almost a week since I've been sick.
Delivery food is here.
This is my first time ordering delivery on this trip.
Let's go.
I got tonkatsu, but it came in like a pizza pie box.
Oh my God, it's so crispy.
Tteokbokki in Korea just hits so different.
So chewy.
