JJ, want to hear a story?
Yes, I do.
Can I please help tell it too?
Yes, listen close.
Let's imagine and rhyme.
It's Cocoa Melon Storytime!
Mommy?
Yes, JJ?
What's on top of a clock?
What's on top of a clock?
Well, like in Hickory Dickory Dock, the mouse ran up the clock.
Why did the mouse run up the clock?
What was up there?
Oh, that's a great question.
And I know a story that can help answer it.
Yay!
It's called Hickory Dickory Block of Cheese.
There once was a little mouse who was feeling hungry.
Squeak, squeak.
It's time for lunch.
Yay!
So she ran into the living room where the big tall clock stood.
Hickory Dickory Block.
The mouse ran up the clock.
When she got to the top, the mouse found her big block of cheese.
Yum, yum!
I need to save some for dinner.
So, I'll just take one little nibble.
Suddenly, the clock struck one.
One!
The clock struck one, the mouse ran down.
Hickory dickory dock!
But just as the mouse ran out of the living room, somebody else. showed up.
It was a doggie!
Yes, a doggie.
So, hickory dickory dock, the doggie ran up the clock.
The doggie ran up the clock with ease.
At the top, she spotted the cheese.
The doggie knew it wasn't her cheese, but she thought one tiny nibble Well, it is a big block of cheese.
So the doggie ate a nibble of the cheese.
Suddenly, the clock struck two.
One, two, the clock struck two, the doggie ran down, hickory dickory dock.
Just as the doggie ran out of the living room, somebody else showed up.
Was it an elephant?
Hickory dickory dock, the elephant ran up the clock.
The elephant ran up the clock with ease.
At the top, she spotted the cheese.
Wait, how did a big elephant fit on top of a clock?
Well, she didn't exactly fit.
She plopped one foot down and the clock went creak.
Then she plopped another foot down and the clock went creak.
The elephant tried to stay balanced as the clock swayed beneath her feet.
While she was balancing the elephant saw the last nibble of cheese and said I know, this isn't my cheese.
But there's only one tiny nibble.
Oh, no, Mommy.
There won't be any left for the mouse.
That's true.
Still, the elephant ate it.
So the cheese was all gone.
Suddenly, the clock struck three.
One, two, three.
The clock struck three.
The elephant ran down Hickory Dickory Dock. just as the elephant ran out of the living room.
Squeak, squeak.
It's time for dinner.
It was the little mouse again.
Uh-oh.
There is no dinner left.
I know.
The other animals finished the cheese.
Hickory dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock.
The mouse ran up the clock with ease, but at the top there was no cheese.
She is.
But just then, the little mouse heard a sound down below the clock.
The doggie?
Mm-hmm.
The doggie holding a strawberry.
The elephant, too!
Yes, the elephant holding a melon.
Oh!
New food for dinner!
Exactly, JJ!
When you take something that doesn't belong to you, replacing it is the right thing to do.
So was the mouse happy?
The mouse was so happy she forgot she was on top of a clock until One two three, four.
The clock struck four.
The mouse ran down...
And the mouse and her friends sat beneath the clock and had a great big picnic.
The end.
We heard a story.
Yes, it's true.
And I helped tell it, too.
We listened, imagined, and made some rhymes for Cocomelon Story.
