Make -up Kids! Hey, Elliot!
Do you want to play?
No, I don't feel like playing right now.
You don't? But you always want to play, Elliot.
That's nice of you to offer Elliot some of your ice cream, Billy.
No thank you, Billy.
I don't want any of your ice cream.
I'm too grumpy right now.
What? You don't want any ice cream?
But you always like ice cream.
Are you okay, Elliot?
You don't look very happy.
No, I'm not okay. I'm in a bad mood.
A bad mood? But you are never in a bad mood, Elliot.
Elliot's always happy.
Something must be really, really wrong.
Welcome to Stories for Kids by Lingokids, where we discover fascinating facts about the world around us and the fun of play -learning!
In today's episode, Elliot is in a bad mood and doesn't want to play with his friends.
It's okay to not feel happy all the time, but once you're in a bad mood, it can be tricky to shake it off.
Let's see how Cowy, Lisa, and Billy help Elliot to feel better.
And hey, if you like this story, tell a friend.
Maybe they'll want to listen, too.
Group huddle! Lisa, Billy, I called you to this meeting to work out.
What's up with Elliot?
I've never seen Elliot in a bad mood before.
What are we going to do ?e What are we going to do?
That's a good idea, Billy.
Maybe you could try to cheer Elliot up.
Oh yeah, it's easy -peasy to make Elliot laugh.
Then, he'll be happy in no time.
I can play him some music.
Let's go. Elliot, listen to the music I made!
Watch me, Elliott! I'm going to do five forward rolls in a row.
If you're sure, Billy, what does this invention do?
I'm not sure Elliot wants to be tickled right now.
Stop! I don't want to be tickled, Billy.
And I don't want to see your forward roles, Cowy!
And I don't want to hear your music, Lisa.
Huh? I'm in a bad mood and I want to be left alone.
Cowie, Lisa, Billy, maybe you should give Elliot a minute to be by himself?
Group huddle! That didn't work!
Now Elliot's in an even worse mood.
I thought he'd like my music.
I thought my four girls would make him smile.
It's OK to be in a bad mood sometimes.
It is? Of course. We can't be happy all of the time.
Sometimes things will make us upset, and it's natural to feel grumpy or fed up about it.
But Elliot didn't like my music, and I spent ages making it.
It's not that he didn't like it, Lisa.
We don't know why Elliot isn't feeling great today.
And your music and Peter's music, Cowie's forward rolls and Billy's tickling machine maybe aren't what he needs right now.
But why is he need right now then?
Good idea, Billy. You could ask Elliott why he's in a bad mood.
Maybe if you understand why he feels like that it will help you think of better ways to cheer him up.
Let's go ask Elliott right now.
Elliott, it's OK that you're in a bad mood today.
But can you tell us why you're not feeling happy?
Okay, well it started when I was coming out to play.
My shoelace came undone and I just can't tie it up.
I tried and I tried, but it was so hard and that made me feel really annoyed.
And then I tried to dodge all the cracks in the path to get here by jumping over them.
But because my shoe was loose, I accidentally stepped on three.
Three? Oh, that would make me so grumpy, too.
It would? Uh -huh. Well, it made me really, really grumpy, and then when I got here, I realized I'd forgotten my fruit snack at home.
And it was my favorite, a banana.
No wonder you're in a bad mood.
Forgetting my bending in a snack made me feel so, so angry.
And so, so upset. I don't want to be in a bad mood.
But nothing has gone right today.
We understand, Elliot.
Group huddle! I don't need any help!
I'm in a bad mood. Elliot, Billy says he's changed his tickle machine to be a shoelace tying machine so it can tie your shoelaces properly!
Really? Okay, it's the shoe!
Wow! It tied up my lace properly!
Thanks, Billie. Now I'm going to show you how to forward roll so you can dodge all the cracks on the path, Elliot.
Watch. Wow. Can I have a try?
Of course. Whoop. I just dodged all the cracks.
And I brought you my banana snack.
What? Really? I can have this?
Of course. I always bring a spare, just in case.
How do you feel now, Elliot?
Erm, I feel much better.
Thank you all for making me happy again.
We couldn't let you stay grumpy, Elliot.
We just knew there had to be a way to cheer you up.
