Hello, welcome or welcome back.
If you don't already know me, I'm Claire, an English teacher and native speaker from the US.
For this video, I wanted to try something a little different.
I want to give you the chance to have a conversation with me.
We can pretend we're meeting for coffee and catching up as friends.
I'll give you time to respond to my questions, but you can always pause the video if I accidentally interrupt you.
In the description of this video.
I'll share with you the transcript of my side of the conversation so that you can practice writing down your responses or thinking of different responses.
You could say.
I'll also give you response suggestions as well.
If you can though, wait until after you have the conversation with me before you look at the transcript, so you can test how good you are at responding in the moment without seeing the questions first.
I also want to point out that if you want real conversation, practice with me live.
I'm available to my English community members live every week.
If you're interested in learning more about joining my community.
That link is also in the description below.
Okay, are you ready?
Let's have a conversation.
Hi.
Hi.
So good to see you.
How are you?
Good.
Good.
Were you waiting long for me?
What time did you get here?
Okay.
How did you get here actually?
Do you already know what you want to order?
Okay, could you actually order for me as well?
I'm going to go to the bathroom really quick, but I'll have a latte and a glass of sparkling water.
Hi there, what can I get for you?
Would you like anything else?
Okay, I'll be right back with that.
Did you order?
Great, so what have you been up to lately?
Do you have any vacation plans coming up?
Or if you don't, where would you want to travel?
And how is your family?
How's it going with work then at the moment?
And your English learning, how's that going?
What's the hardest thing about learning English for you?
Did I tell you I'm learning Italian?
I've learned all the grammar and I can understand my teacher when she talks to me in Italian, but I still really struggle to speak.
I try to practice speaking whenever I have the opportunity and I try my best not to worry about making mistakes so that doesn't hold me back from speaking, but it's hard.
So what do you have planned for the rest of the day?
Nice.
I think I'm just going to chill tonight.
Maybe watch a movie at home.
Do you live on your own, actually?
Do you rent or own where you live?
This coffee was great.
How was yours?
So when are we going to see each other next?
It was so nice catching up with you.
I've got to run, but if I leave some cash with you, do you mind paying?
Amazing.
See you later.
Let me know in the comments how our conversation went for you.
Again.
