Today we're going to try to enrich our speech a little bit.
So when you're having a conversation, a small talk with someone, you're sharing your insights, points of view, your ideas, and sometimes you see eye to eye with that person and sometimes you don't.
But today I'm going to talk of what to say when you agree with something someone has just said. instead of just saying I understand or yes or I agree. and there's nothing wrong in saying I understand or I agree, it's perfectly okay, but you can actually use some phrases to express your agreement and to expand your language a bit.
And the next time when you hear these expressions, you'll know what they mean.
Of course, there are a lot of different expressions, but I've chosen my favorite ones so here they are.
Sure thing. Couldn't agree more. My point exactly.
Tell me about it. You're telling me. You can say that again.
That's about the size of it. Amen to that!
Same here. And sure, put it here. See how many options we have.
Now let's take a look at them with some examples. saying that you'd rather not go to this networking event.
Well, yeah, that's about the size of So this phrase is used mostly when answering a question and confirming information.
Oh, I'm so sick of this ad. You can say that again.
Used to express our strong agreement. I love summer, but wow, it's sweltering outside.
Tell me about it, or you're telling me. Use those when you're aware of situation and completely agree.
Sure, put it here. Well, this one is interesting.
We say it when we want to shake hands to confirm our agreement.
So it's a deal? Sure, put it here. that we have to stop our collaboration with that firm because it looks like they're bad news.
My point exactly. Use this phrase when you agree with someone, especially if you thought the same or you said it earlier yourself.
Also, you can say amen to that because you strongly agree with that.
Frankly speaking, this party sucks. Same here.
Or couldn't agree more. use those to say that you think the same way and sure thing We use it when you're answering a question.
It's like saying yes, of course. For example, could you hand me my tools, please?
Sure thing. And also we can use it as a noun when we're certain that something will happen.
That girl's success is a sure thing. Her voice is incredible.
But guys, don't forget that it's a language, don't be afraid to be creative, to experiment, use these expressions.
