If you follow English speaking content creators, you probably hear them say a lot of new slang words that didn't exist in the past.
I often hang out with people who are younger than me, so I hear this new slang all the time.
Today, I want to teach you how to use the slang words riz and mid.
The word riz comes from the word charisma, which you might know.
People use riz to refer to someone's romantic charm or their ability to talk to someone who they're interested in romantically.
For example, you might hear someone say, he's got serious riz.
This means that the person has a great ability to charm women and talk to them in a way that they like, and that they respond well to.
You might also hear someone say something like This means that the guy has no ability to talk to women who he's romantically interested in.
He doesn't know how to charm them or attract them. with his way of talking to them.
So, that's riz.
How about mid?
This word is used to describe something that is average, meaning it's not really good, it's just eh.
For example, you might hear someone say I just finished watching the last season and I thought it was kind of mid.
In this sentence the person is saying that they think the last season of the TV show was pretty average.
In other words, kind of underwhelming.
Not terrible, but not that great.
It was just mid.
Or you might hear something like, their food is mid at best.
In this example, the person is saying that the restaurant serves average food at best, meaning it's either average or even below average.
That's why they say at best.
So you might hear people describe a variety of things like food movies songs, etc.
As mid if they aren't impressed with those things.
So now you know the meaning of riz and mid.
