Easy english expression rehashed.
Hello everybody, my name is coach shane and welcome to easy english expressions.
Come on, let's master english Shane here.
EQ number 360.
Today is Sunday and we have a perfect Sunday expression.
Enjoy the podcast.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is perfect.
It is Sunday for most of you if you are listening live.
Today's expression is a Sunday driver.
A Sunday driver.
When I was young, you know, 20, 25 years old, oh, I hated Sunday drivers.
Oh, man.
And my dad was a Sunday driver.
Oh, boy.
I hated the way my dad drove.
Now I'm a little bit older.
I'm 47.
And now I am a Sunday driver.
Oh, yeah.
I'm a Sunday driver.
Are you a Sunday driver?
Is a Sunday driver a person who only drives on Sunday?
Maybe they only drive on the weekend, Monday through Friday.
They take the bus.
They take the subway.
They only drive their car on Saturday and Sunday.
No.
Nyet.
Nyet.
No, that's not the answer.
A Sunday driver is somebody who drives really slow.
Now, yeah, they drive slow like a grandpa or grandma.
And it's very frustrating.
Not only do they drive slow but, for example, let's say you're driving down the road and the speed limit is 100 kilometers per hour.
But there are no cars.
It's a nice day.
The road is very wide.
Maybe you got two lanes, three lanes.
Do you really drive just 100 kilometers per hour or do you go a little bit faster?
Maybe, you know, 105, maybe 110 kilometers an hour.
Some people maybe 115, 120, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, a Sunday driver will not only drive 100 kilometers an hour.
They might, just to be safe, drive 98 kilometers per hour.
And they never go faster.
Never.
And those people, there's a very good chance that those people will drive you crazy.
Yeah.
It's true.
Yeah.
So if you're driving in America and you see me, yeah, please don't be too mean to me.
I drive slow.
I'm not a fast driver.
I'm an old guy.
I drive slow.
I drive like a grandpa.
I'm a Sunday driver.
I'm safe.
Another silly thing about Sunday drivers, Sunday drivers, they really follow the traffic laws.
So if they're driving down the street and there's a stop sign, And even though you can see for miles, you know you can see 10 kilometers this way, that way, this way, that way.
There are no cars.
You are in the desert.
You can see thousands of miles.
There are no cars.
But the Sunday driver.
The Sunday driver will come to the stop sign and stop and look both directions.
And then proceed.
Sunday drivers.
You gotta love them.
Or you gotta hate them.
Let's check out the dialogue.
Come on.
Relax.
We've got time.
I hate these Sunday drivers.
Relax.
Don't cause an accident.
Yep.
Today's Sunday.
Lots of people out there driving today, enjoying the weather.
I hope that your spring weather is fantastic.
Don't forget, in the southern hemisphere and that's a lot of people who listen to this podcast Australia, New Zealand Chile, parts of Brazil, other parts of South America Africa, parts of Asia.
It's fall.
So how is it?
I'm curious.
How is the weather where you are today?
And are you driving?
And are you a Sunday driver?
So I would love to hear from you.
